EDIT: HEY! Where is all the stuff i typed on the Tonic Trouble page? DID YOU DELETE IT LIJIK?! :pascontent: I deserve some credit here people.
I copied and pasted over it. I mentioned in my edit summary that I was going to try and reincorporate it next time I worked on it if no one else did by that time.

Where? Can someone show me? I see nothing writing by me about anything really, like "Tonic Trouble was released a month after the Original Rayman 2". :?

And btw, i edited the levels section. The pyramid and the glacier cocktail were arranged at the wrong way round. You play the Glacier first, then the pyramid. And also, the South Plain is the World hub. Furthermore, the Mad mushroom is acually the Magic Mushroom.

Click on history tab at the top of the page, yours should be the earliest edit.

Did some cleaning up and added a list of every character and enemy in the game I could remember listed in the order that you meet them (with the exception of the vegetable army)
Should the lists be seperated into main characters and enemies? I'm going to hold off on adding descriptions until I get some opinions on this.

Also if I forgot any of the stage unique enemies, add them in. I also don't remember if the crazy girl from the pyramid has a proper name so if she does replace "The Insane inmate" with whatever it is.

I've also added some of the enemies that only appear in the beta version. I'm currently stuck at the canyon (missing a jumping stone and the layout is completely different) but if I get any further I'll add any more new enemies I come across.

Whatever you guys are doing with this, can you all make sure it's in a category please? All articles need to have one, and the most suitable for Tonic Trouble would be "Games".

While we're at it, any chance we can have screenshots? I saw a few from the beta and one of them has the circus ship that was seen in the first ep of the Animated series.

Is this what you're talking about? I think one of these is still in the final version of North Plains, but they're all over the place in the beta version of the Canyon.

Yeah that's it. So there's that, the General being in Rayman 2, and Ed's head being in the TV series...heehee

I guess I could upload the beta somewhere like the other betas have been.

It would be nice if someone could help out on figuring out the beta version of the Canyon. I'm missing a silver spade (the beta's version of antidotes) and a jumping stone

Hate to potentially crush your hopes but the exterior of the circus ship seen at the start of the Animated Series is totally different from that airship there. The only similarities are that they're both red and white striped and they both fly.

@StaceyW: Don't forget the Rayman-like creature in the TT credits.
@Lijik: Yes, do upload it!
@dingodile555: They're similar enough...

I'm uploading the beta to megaupload right now as a .7z file, so go get 7-zip if you don't already have it.

EDIT-
And here it is!

Code: Select all

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=3NPN5U21
I've included a personal readme that should explain some stuff. You'll know which one was the one I made.

You're going to need the transformation power acquired by beating the Cocktail Glacier stage.
The south Plains map really isn't as user friendly as it should be.

Have you rescued the Doc yet?

Shouldn't this thread be in the RayWiki subforum?

And I noticed something; Ed looks sort of like those enemies in Picture City, the ones that fly around on the frying pans. I think. Sort of.

Kind of, but I think he evolved from a character design intended for Rayman 2's original 2d version. A lot of characters and concepts (The General, Super Ed, The Henchmen's weapons, the dinosaur) can be traced back to designs intended for the original R2.

If you look at the back of Ed's shirt, you see a stripy light green and dark green thing that looks just like those things on the front of those R1 enemies' bodies...

...could someone post a screenshot showing the back of Ed? Project64's screenshot function just won't work for me...

Not the closest shot, but Ed has a zipper on his back. The Picture City enemies seem to have buttons.

If you look really closely at the zip thing on Ed's back, it actually has both light and dark green parts, like the Picture City enemies; it's not a solid colour. This is easier to see on the N64 version.

Or maybe I'm entirely wrong. :P

There is a resemblance there, nice find.

Did I mention I read there was a random picture of Rayman in the first slide level according to someone on YT?
