Re: Tim Follin and Geof Follin (chip music for videogames)
So is this thread about an awesome video game composer eh?
OH MAN he composed the Plok music and that of Ecco the Dolphin on Dreamcast : D
No wonder it's awesome.
You know I've had many times where I thought I'd love to be a game music composer. But apparently you need at least an Honours in Music if you wanna get in with Sega and the like. :<

Re: Tim Follin and Geof Follin (chip music for videogames)
Yes Basically. (although I wouldn't mind talking about other good/great music developers or just music interests [hopefully game related]) : D Plok you say? I saw that around *starts listening to it*
OH GOD OH YES YES YES ME LIKE : D
OH GOOOOOOOOOOOOODODODODODODDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD ROFLLMAO. GOD I LOVE TIM FOLLIN OH HAHA
You should listen to the Equinox Soundtracks, those were my favorite by far, so epic and GOSH and the like. (sorta epic and out THERE you know? A place that is far away kind of feeling)
So why not pursue your dream! Study music? Or minor it?

Re: Tim Follin and Geof Follin (chip music for videogames)
What I did do before was study music for my GCSEs [secondary school final exams] and got a B for it. But then I got interested in drawing and that flew out of the window.
Also, these dudes are Brits.
I swear right, most excellent game composers are either British or Japanese [though you do get some greats from other countries like Didier Lord].

Re: Tim Follin and Geof Follin (chip music for videogames)
They are? Well they have great talent, haha. I just stumpled onto LED storm and I was like WHOA. Now I'm listening to Plok - Boss music, and that is also great. (I'd probaly have a better chance writing lyric poetry or something, haha)
I probaly wouldn't study music myself, though. I'm not sure I would have talent for that, I just like listening to it. Also I can't draw, and I am not really sure what I will major. I am majoring Graphics Design, but I did not do so well so I want to change it.

Re: Tim Follin and Geof Follin (chip music for videogames)
Is this the same music you showed me on Facebook? xD
Re: Tim Follin and Geof Follin (chip music for videogames)
Oh yeah. xD It is, part of their work, actually. :3 They are too good, mang. Did you like? lol
Re: Tim Follin and Geof Follin (chip music for videogames)
How did they make that ? What program did they use ?
Well, if i was to pick a talent it would be writing, i can do this very well in Dutch, my English is still poor tough, but i have learned much here.

Re: Tim Follin and Geof Follin (chip music for videogames)
I'm not really sure, I was never really interested in how they made it, but I'm sure you can search up on them to find out. (I might do that later, but I'd rather just sit back and relax to their music)
Yes, it seems you English is great. DOn't worry, I'm sure you can do both. Although, I do better in English then in Spanish, sadly.
I believe that a person can't LIVE without music. lol

Trackers I would have thought, but it could be with more complicated devices since it all has to co-exist with the assembly codes etc.Joshua822 wrote:How did they make that ? What program did they use ?

Yeah, my English is good for having conversations, i know the grammar and i already have a quite good vocabulary but still, i don't know many synonyms and stuff. And a rich vocabulary is very important in writing.
But yeah, you kinda got me hooked on this chiptune stuff <3

I'm sure you'll learn new ones, use a thesaurus! I have one, I get bored, and I read it lol.
Haha really now? xD I'm glad you got hooked on that stuff! The best thing ever, right? They are too good, they are legends, wouldn't you agree? (Along with others)

Re: Tim Follin and Geof Follin (chip music for videogames)
Yeah, their good, too good, maybe we should kill them ? Wait, but then we wouldn't have this cool music anymore, maybe we better don't.

The guy who did the music for Shadow of the Colossus is awesome. And Japanese. Kow Otani.

Re: Tim Follin and Geof Follin (chip music for videogames)
I'm not too big on Eric's work, sorry to say.
As far as game composers in general are concerned I like Yoko Shimomura for her work on the Mario and Luigi series, and half of the composers of the old Sonic games on the MD. Sonic 3 and Knuckles had some of the best game music ever. Perhaps I'll list specific songs from all games that I like when I get back from my nan's.
