I'll try and get one later. For some reason my PC gamepad wouldn't work so I had to use the keyboard which is always a nightmare.

I've also checked the PC version and it's in there too. Don't know about Revolution though, since there's no Hall of Doors I can't check right now.
It's not in Revolution, because in Revolution the area where you meet Jano in the start of the Marshes isn't there.

Project64 refuses to take screenshots for me :/

Also, I've noticed that you see Eig for a fraction of a second in the Marshes of Awakening on Dreamcast. He pops up out of the water at the start of the second part of the level.

*goes to get the proof*

EDIT:
The Rayman 2 manual wrote:"Rayman is a unique character of unknown origin, no wise man or magician can say by what twist of fate or whim of the gods Rayman came to appear at the Glade of Dreams. Rayman was found Washed up by the sea of lums. On a particularly stormy night, they found Rayman sleeping peacefully under the shade of a palm tree. Frightened by this strange creature from the sea, they called on the people of the forest, the skies and the waters for help. And the sun had not yet reached the zenith when a host of beings, each one more bizarre than the rest, came tumbling over the violent sand dunes. They studied him for a long time. "What kind of creature Is this?" they asked each other. "Is he alive?" wondered one when Rayman stretched and yawned. It didn't take Rayman long to convince the people of the Glade of Dreams of his good intentions. His energy and good humor, his fantastical powers and love for life and nature won over even the most distrustful of the beings. And when he triumphed over the evil Mr. Dark, the truth was undeniable - Rayman was the bravest of them all, the ideal hero, the man for whom friendship and laughter are more important than anything else, for whom the greatest victory is measured by the extent of celebrations that follow it."
This proves that Rayman washed up on the shore of the Glade of Dreams before he defeated Mister Dark. Make of that what you will.
Could have been referring to Rayman GBC, which clearly takes place in the same world as R2/3. After all, it was on the GBC that Mr. Dark actually DIED. And there were Livingstones, too.

You're saying that the GBC port of Rayman 1 is a canon sequel to the original and the prelude to Rayman 2?

No, he means ignoring original R1.

But, you know, triumph means winning, not killing...

R1 GBC can't be considered a part of the main series, because it's part of the same alternate canon as R2 GBC.

It's probably not the same character though ;) (provided you can actually consider Dark Rayman a character, while he's just a special skin for Rayman in Arena).

LOL That's called Darkman or something and it was drawn by Countess Razoff before she left the fandom.

I wonder if it's an easter egg or if it's a glitch? Either way it's awesome and hail Spiraldoor for spotting it. :)
