They're talking about whether or not Mars is closer to Earth than Venus is. Nothing to do with the Sun.

It actually depends on their position around the sun.Shawn wrote:No, Venus is closer. Look it up.Serza5 wrote:No Mars is closer.

Jupiter I believe is the greatest for consisting almost purely of gases (the core being the only solid part). Imagine being like that. No-one could hurt you unless they put their hand right through you're chest, and I can't seem them doing that.
But then again, Venus has all the sulphuric acid. If someone tried to punch Venus, their hand would corrode.
Dear God, I really am aging backwards instead of forwards.

Amen to that!Adsolution wrote:Neptune, because it's so damn cool.

It's all about Neptune and Uranus for me! (Though I'll choose Neptune for this purpose)
Re: Favorite Solar System Planet (other than Earth)
A lot of people like Mars. Marvin the Martian must be very proud.
I voted Saturn mostly because I like its ring of gas.

I think Saturn because of the Sega Saturn

Bump.
I like Neptune because of its deep blue color, and I also like Uranus because of its color and also the unique way it's alignment is structured in that it's on its side rather than upright. I was curious to find recently that the actual color of Uranus was more of a pale cyan rather than a deeper shade of cyan or teal. The Jonster wrote: Thu Aug 16, 2018 4:59 am It's all about Neptune and Uranus for me! No, only in pictures, like nearly every other planet. I mean it kind of just looks somewhat like the Moon. The name makes me think of a poisonous chemical in fish.

Ok that is not what Mercury looks like on the surface. That's just a photo of Mercury with enhanced colors to emphasize differences with the rocks on its surface.
Speaking of the moon, I find it pretty fascinating how we only have 1 moon(?), while other planets have multiple moons. I wonder what purposes the other moons have on other planets....

Re: Favorite Solar System Planet (other than Earth)
Moons aren't known for having the biggest size, otherwise Jupiter and Saturn would be hard to see with all their moons in the way!
I really wish I could have made more than one vote. Uranus got no love over there
