Re: Rayman 3 for Gamecube working perfectly!
Has anyone here have (or know anyone who has) the PS2, Xbox or PC versions of Rayman Arena? If so, could you tell us how they are similar or dissimilar to this?
Re: Rayman 3 for Gamecube working perfectly!
- I don't know about the PS2 version.
- I have played the PC version. It is basically the same as Rayman M, same menu, same characters, same bonus levels, etc., with only a few differences. The biggest difference is LAN play. If you have Hamachi, you can also play online. Oh, that reminds me of something... we should do a Rayman Arena tourney sometime ( and to get more players, I can upload the game... ). ^^
- The Xbox version is the same as the GC version. I'm almost sure about that. I haven't played this one, but I have seen the intro movie and the movie that plays when you do nothing for a few minutes. They are the same as the movies in the GC version ( judging by the sound ) and they are the only things supported by the best Xbox emulator so far ( I forgot that emu's name though
).
Also, I finally managed to get some Action Replay codes in R3 to work. ^^
Sadly, the only code that doesn't work is Moonjump, because for some reason, that makes it impossible to navigate through the menu.
EDITED because a PS2 version DOES exist, it seems.

Re: Rayman 3 for Gamecube working perfectly!
But Rayman Arena is the American name for Rayman M...are you saying that it wasn't released on PS2 in America, or that they left its name as "Rayman M", even though they thought Americans would think the "M" had something to do with the "Mature" ESRB rating?
And the Xbox emulator is called Xeon. Did you try PCSX2? You may be able to get Revolution screenshots (there still isn't a good Grolem 13 one).

Re: Rayman 3 for Gamecube working perfectly!
I couldn't get any PS2 emulation to work in the past, and it doesn't look like I will at the moment since my laptop's not exactly Quad core.
Re: Rayman 3 for Gamecube working perfectly!
It was released in America. I might try it out soon. Just like it wasn't released on Gamecube ( and Xbox I think ) in Europe.spiraldoor wrote:But Rayman Arena is the American name for Rayman M...are you saying that it wasn't released on PS2 in America, or that they left its name as "Rayman M", even though they thought Americans would think the "M" had something to do with the "Mature" ESRB rating?![]()

I don't know if I'll try Revolution on PCSX2. I already have a PS2.
But yeah, if you really, really, really, really want a screenshot, I might try it out.

Apparently a new version of PCSX2 came out a few days ago, but these are the current compatible list of Rayman games.

Re: Rayman 3 for Gamecube working perfectly!
Well, it would be awesome if we had screenshots of Grolem 13, Boss Biditank, Boss Chenille, Minisaurus Plains, Globox House, Rainbow Creek, Skull Cave, Bzzit and all the other things that Revolution added, but all in good time. I wouldn't want to distract you from your work on unlocking Dark Rayman, would I?Drolpiraat wrote:But yeah, if you really, really, really, really want a screenshot, I might try it out.
Re: Rayman 3 for Gamecube working perfectly!
No, you wouldn't. XD
But anyway...

... What did I say about reflections not working?
This newer version of Dolphin also supports more lights and shadows. Hah, even the helicopter throws a shadow on Rayman now ( and that shadow moves! )!
And did I mention that everything suddenly looks a lot smoother? And not only R3...
EDIT -> Okay, so the smoothness has a downside. The FPS sometimes drops a little below the maximum. XD
I kept the old Dolphin though.

Re: Rayman 3 for Gamecube working perfectly!
Drol have you told any of the Dolphin authors that Rayman Arena is compatible? I looked on their list and it doesn't have Arena at all on there. And that the list Rayman 3 as blue, which I think is partially playable.
I'm downloading the Arena ISO right now to try it out for myself. I doubt that I can get it to work as well as on yours but a try is a try I suppose.

I haven't told them yet, but if I have some free time tomorrow, I might do that.
And good luck! ^^

Re: Rayman 3 for Gamecube working perfectly!
Turns out that this laptop is too shite for Gamecube emulation. Oh well, I'll keep the ISO in case I end up with a better PC.
Re: Rayman 3 for Gamecube working perfectly!
Too bad.
I've finished Pro league, by the way. And Master League is EXTREMELY HARD. I think someone said Rayman Arena was easy? Well, then try finishing that. I already had to restart on First Ruins in the Race mode. And you have to keep winning in all levels. IN ONE GO. Also, the levels are mirrored... ( where you normally had to go left, you now have to go right ) -_-
EDIT -> I've already reached 1000 Waterfalls. It's nice that you can restart the level ( and not the complete challenge ) though.
EDIT -> Oh, I found out a Rayman Arena for PS2 DOES exist! It looks exactly like Rayman M. I might try it out soon to make sure it's not like the GC version though.
EDIT -> Here are some screenshots:
Master League Unlocked!
The stats screen displays a skin for Rayman now! ^^
A Good Picture of Dark Rayman...
If you look closely, you'll see that all 3D is mirrored...
Same here.
Victory! =D
OMG GLIOTCH?!!!!
Getting closer and closer to 100% completion...

Excellent! I've created a stub about Dark Rayman on RayWiki

Re: Rayman 3 for Gamecube working perfectly!
I added more info and a pic. :> I wasn't sure about whether he is an enemy or not since it's more of a skin than anything.
Re: Rayman 3 for Gamecube working perfectly!
Thanks Drolpiraat!
I finally can play this game! It works perfect on my computer (sometimes it slows down to 20-40 frames), but I have the same problem like you. I can't play the Rise and Shine level, because the game crashes on the loadng screen. Can you help me?
Re: Rayman 3 for Gamecube working perfectly!
Well, and I can't even play it at all! When I launch it, a black screen appears (the cutscenes
), and after that I only hear the menu music, and... some kinda... place with horrible graphics appears
I wanna play the game, dammit!

Re: Rayman 3 for Gamecube working perfectly!
Ah, you can't quit the Master League and save, that's why you have to finish it in one go!
When you're telling the Dolphin authors that Rayman Arena's compatible, you should mention that R3 works flawlessly, too.

Re: Rayman 3 for Gamecube working perfectly!
@Henchman800: Try messing around with the graphics settings and searching for the best settings while the game is running. I managed to get it working that way.
I can't help for that, but...
@Fat_Mario: Just keep pressing A fast when the level is almost done loading ( and don't stop before the countdown comes ). It will skip the introduction and start the level. Also, did you disable Idle Skipping? That doesn't seem to work with this game ( it slows the game down )... so if you haven't disabled it, do it.

Re: Rayman 3 for Gamecube working perfectly!
Man, if you can figure out how to unlock 2D Madness 2/2D Nightmare without Action Replay codes, I'll think you're a genius.
I've just given up on ever seeing that mini game in Rayman 3 Gamecube.
