The main difference is 32x lives in emulators. And it had some great points, compared to Gizmondo.StaceyW wrote:Well the fact that both hardware failed miserably didn't help. With a game like this for it I don't think Rayman would have stood a chance.

Re: Upcoming Games
To be honest, i am waiting for BG&E 2 too. But i hope that if they make it a freeroomer they will at least make a clear list of missions and a good mini map that shows where to go. This quite annoys me. I don't know where to go. ( I'm now on my first mission on the black island, take pictures in the mines. But i am stuck. )I wonder why nobody here seems to have played BG&E. If you had, then you'd definitely be looking forward to BG&E2.
How I loved the first game... I played it more than any Rayman game! 7 times.
And I have two copies of the PC version, one of the PS2 version, and one of the Xbox version, which doesn't work on Xbox 360.

Re: Upcoming Games
Free roam games are not generally good. They are often boring, though.

Re: Upcoming Games
They are if they're done right, which they're usually not. I prefer linear.
Re: Upcoming Games
Free roaming fits certain genres, such as RPG's, well. The problem in recent years is that developers insert the free roaming element into games that don't need it. When did the gaming community decide that linearty equals bad games, anyway? Rayman 3 and Rayman 2 are both almost completely linear, but that certainly didn't stop me from enjoying them.

Re: Upcoming Games
It annoys me when a linear level branches in two directions and I have to choose one. I always end up going back and following the other path when I reach the end of the one I chose, though this works well in 2D games.
I like it when you have to follow a linear path which has small other paths branching off it, which you can choose to go down, or choose not to. And some of these little paths should lead to little areas, and some of them should be cleverly hidden.

Re: Upcoming Games
I remember a quite interesting concept of semi-linear game using way you don't like, but with... err... bigger branches of ways, like a few different levels and then the "link". And I know your problem, but, actually, you can restart level, right?spiraldoor wrote:It annoys me when a linear level branches in two directions and I have to choose one. Re: Upcoming Games
Seems like they at Sony seriously think about abandoning PS3. If all of these came out for PS2...

Absolutely not. Have you by any chance heard of a little game called Uncharted 2: Among Thieves?stan423321 wrote:Seems like they at Sony seriously think about abandoning PS3. If all of these came out for PS2...

The story is still a bit vague though, well, it will become clear when playing the game anyway.
