Re: God...
No, logically. Also, there is no such substance as "Radiumumum".

Re: God...
And there is no country called Pipe'o'tania. Have you heard about so-called unexisting examples? I wanted to write Radium, but you'd say Radium's radioactive for sure, so I added umum.
Re: God...
Of course I have. I just pointed it out because I wasn't sure whether this was one, or if it was just another case of you writing shitty English.stan423321 wrote:Have you heard about so-called unexisting examples?
The metaphor is still logically flawed. It has nothing to do with the "radiumumum".

Re: God...
O.K., another one. You work on ATi and there is a lot of people arguing would Xbox 720 get NVidia's, Intel's or ATi's GPU. However, you actually believe there would be no Xbox 720 or anything like this, so this makes no sense for you.
Re: God...
Are you talking about perspectives? No matter which way you look at it, even through the eyes of a Christian, the whole argument makes little sense. It's based around the connection between Jesus and God, and why is this connection of any significant value? The primary element in any religion is believing in (a) God, not believing in some wild incarnation.

Sorry Tobbe but the UK just makes more sense than Norway.Tobbe wrote:We are behind the UK?! I'm very disappointed with my "green" countrymen.Hunchman801 wrote: And finally: Discuss![]()

Re: God...
Does anyone have any tips on how to convert people to atheism? I've tried the why-does-god-allow-suffering and the why-did-god-create-the-universe-in-such-a-way-that-it-contains-no-evidence-of-his-existence and the jumping-to-supernatural-conclusions-over-something-you-don't-understand-is-cave-man-ish, but nothing seems to be getting through.
Re: God...
This is another thing that irks me. Preaching/forcing your "beliefs", or lack thereof, down the throat of your christian (or whatever they are) friends (once again, or whatever they are), makes you just as bad as those fucked up crazy people standing on the street corners telling you you'll burn in hell because you don't have faith in Jesus. Belief is a highly personal thing.
Re: God...
I agree with Limely (partially). Actively trying to convert people to atheism is not the way to go. One simple rule to follow is: "If religion leaves you alone, you leave it alone." Don't hesitate to start discussions about religion, god and philosophy, though, just don't go into them with a "believing in god is stupid you delusional Christian moron!"-attitude. A fact that you'll just have to accept is that some people will never listen to reason.
A world without religion would be a better place, there's little doubt in my mind about that, so the long term goal of humanity should be to get rid of the religions. However, we must remember that we can't force people to give up their delusions.
Wow, that post took 15 minutes to write and it still turned out shit.

Please stop it you two.
Re: God...
shut up, insane.
Also, "if you just can't believe"? It's not like I've tried very hard to believe. I've simply studied the facts and gathered all the physical and technological evidence I could, and I concluded that you would have to be raving mad to believe in god. I would like to ask you a direct question: Why do you believe in god? Seriously, I want to know.
What's strange about Atheism. Nothing, when you think about it. There is not a shred of evidence that suggests that your beloved yahweh exists, or any other god for that matter. Atheism is a rational and logic stance on the question of origin of the Universe and humanity (which are the only questions religions really try to answer), whilst believing in an omnipotent deity is an irrational and delusional stance. Rational thought has doubled the expected life span of humans, it has given us wonderful technology such as the wheel, steel, combustion engines and computers, and it has given us the opportunity to explore every inch of our own planet, as well as the ability to leave it and explore the rest of the fantastic Universe.stan423321 wrote: O.K., if you just can't believe, that's your businness.
