Playing World of Goo. Short, but excellent and cheap. Yes, cheap - 20PLN for this game is really good price.
EDIT: Missing space.

I think the game will recover some of the fun with the new expansion, it can keep a person more "busy" in Space Stage.

That's exactly what EA wants you to do. It's just like with the Sims. The game looses it's charm quickly, but before people have forgotten about it entirely, EA releases an expansion. And repeat. They sure know how to exploit a game.

Does this expansion mean that you can do more custom shit to your monsters? If so that would be cool because none of my monsters [all of which were imitations of Stoppit and Tidyup and The Trap Door characters] came out the way I wanted. :(

A big feature of the expansion is to doing missions on land in another planet. There's more information here: http://spore.wikia.com/wiki/Spore_Galactic_Adventures

Actually, expansions are a really great concept. But, only if used right.

For example, EA charges players for expansions to their tycoon game and doesn't even allow players to make their own objects, or in this case, skins.

But, now let's go to the magical world of Open Source. A lot of open source tycoon games know the concept of expansions too. But they do it in an entirely different way. They let players create their own objects .And there are some artists that create pretty high quality stuff for those games out there. Then, you just download the file and place it in an directory. You launch the game, and there's your new object. And that for free ? Why do they write it like this ? Simple, that way the game isn't bloated and you can let your players have fun with creating their own objects too.

I'm not saying expansions are bad, I'm just not pleased with how EA handles this.

Yeah, true. Zoo Tycoon had a very good option for downloading new animals. Maybe that would be cuil for spore.
