Anyone can be charitable. Religion has nothing to do with it. Are you suggesting that atheists are not charitable?
I am not suggesting that, but Christian charities have raised thousands of millions of pounds to support Third World countries, and will continue to do so. Christian Aid, for example, an ongoing fund that makes thousands each year by means of donations from Christians, in churches.
How would the removal of religion in modern society affect pre-Raphaelite art?
You're right, it wouldn't. But without religion it would never have existed in the first place.
I feel comfortable with my belief that life is meaningless and developed naturally, with no pre-ordained purpose. I don't see how a belief that life was artificially created would help me in any way.
I applaud your opinion, but unfortunately that is all it is. An opinion. I have spoken to several religious people who feel that the presence of God inside them enhances their livelihoods as people. You can't speak out of tongue going on personal interpretation. Get some perspective.
Social relationships can develop anywhere, and spiritual relationships don't exist.
They can indeed, but those that exist within church communities are the ones I am referring to specifically. As for spiritual relationships - again, your view is totally opinionated, many people do feel they have a spiritual bond with Jesus and/or God.
People can be reformed in many ways. Some of which don't require delusional beliefs.
Some of which don't, no. But the minority that do is the group I'm talking about... the majority are out of the equation.
