If a grown man wants to like Megaman then it's totally up to him , but unfortunately there's such things as 18+ people that take fandom way too seriously...like a certain someone I know who claims to have post traumatic stress disorder over missing an episode of Sonic X, and a certain grown man who walks around with a badly modelled "medallion" of a Sonic and Pikachu hybrid in public.

HAHA that reminds me off this six years old kid who I read about in the newspaper, who was completely obsessed with Sonic X. He had even applied to change his name to Sonic X, but his application was denied.

So? That's not a video game character. It's a TV show, and 'Macgyver' could pass as a real name nowadays. Any name could. I know a girl with name of:

'Abcde'

It's ridiculous, and they don't even pronounce it right. They say it like: ABSADEE

Not in Norway, and especially not when paired with a traditional Norwegian first name and last name.

@Limely: well the kid is 6 so he might get away with that, if this was a 20 year old however THAT'S when it gets beyond creepy. Speaking of Sonic I've heard one one woman who thought Sonic was real, and got her whole family to give her money so she could go to Japan and meet a man in a Sonic costume. How sad can that get?

I know of a story with a woman crazy about Sonic. Here's the story (not made by me)

Sally was a Sonic fan, pure and simple. At age twenty three, she was just a little too
obsessed with the speedy blue hedgehog. Her room was adorned with every piece of
Sonic merchandise she could find, be it the McDonalds's LCDs or those shoddily
constructed SatAM plushies. Her library contained the British
choose-your-own-adventure books, and her CD tower contained such rarities as
"Sonic Boom" and the Japanese Sonic X soundtrack. Yes, her collection was complete.

Or, so she thought.

One day, she and her boyfriend (the newest in a long line of tubby gents that
pleasantly reminded her of Big the Cat) were walking around "Little Tokyo", scouring
shops for Sonic X trading Cards. Along the way, they discovered a musty old curio
store. In the window, there was a particularly strange looking stuffed animal, with
especially vacant eyes, and a red jewel on it's head.

It was a Tails Doll.

Being a completest, she had to have it. She and her boyfriend ran inside and asked
the proprietor how much it cost.

He refused to sell it, saying that it was too valuable.

Sally offered him all she had, and he still wouldn't part with it. She look at the Doll, but
she knew she had to have it. Reaching out with a trembling hand, she out picked up a
bottle of Lychee Soda from a nearby case and smashed it on the register.

She stabbed the Shopkeeper in the throat.

Sally's beau was stunned. He told her she was mad! He told her she was demented!
He told her to stay away from him!

She told him to DIE.

Moments later, covered in blood, Sally came to her senses and realized what she had
done. She was a killer and had snuffed out two innocent people's lives.

But at least, she could now complete her collection. That Tails Doll was hers!

Only, when she looked back at the display, the doll was nowhere to be seen. The
window was utterly, totally and undeniably empty. As she looked down at her quivering
gore-coated hands, a song began to play on the late shopkeeper's radio.

"...Can you feel the Sunshine?..."

You think I thought you were an idiot because you were being mean to me? No, it was more a combination of your love of anime, your belief that R1 GBC is the best Rayman game of all, your long list of poor games, all of which you said were superior to Rayman, combined with the fact that you were "19" (and of course your predisposition to creating ridiculous and unnecessary threads), which made me consider you to be an idiot.
