Re: Rabbids Go Home... Yeah!
Personally I'm going to buy this game because it looks nice and I want to check it out.
I am quite sure Ubisoft is aware of how much a new proper installment of the Rayman franchise is. They said so themselves: Not a day passed without someone asking them when they would make a new Rayman game. I am pretty sure that eventually, as in, a couple of years or so (because developing games take time, believe it or not), we will see the return of Rayman.
Until then I am quite content with playing whatever else there is on the market that suits me.
That being said this thread is quite a lolfest too.

Re: Rabbids Go Home... Yeah!
What a crock of shit this comment is. Are you assuming that there should be NO PLATFORMERS on the Wii whatsoever? Not everyone can afford all three consoles so Wii owners would have to stick to what they've got. Just because you won't touch a Wii with a 100-foot pole doesn't mean everyone else should stay away from it.spiraldoor wrote:If nobody buys RGH, Ubi won't think that NOBODY wants a platformer, they'll think that NO WII OWNER wants a platformer. Which won't affect their stance on a PS3/360/PC platformer.
Not long ago I had admit that so far the Wii has had one of the worst libraries ever, but I still have faith that it'll change for the better. After all, it's been out for three years and if its success carries on we could see better games coming our way.
Re: Rabbids Go Home... Yeah!
I really don't know what's going on in this topic anymore. Nowadays it seems to be criticism (actually, more than that, flamethrowing) at an individual level. If someone doesn't like a game, that person sees it necessary to throw stones both at the gaming company and at anyone who contests their opinion.
Naturally some people will like the new RGH game and some won't. This isn't something that can be altered, so just live with it.

Having a wii version is detrimental to the quality of any multiplat game.StaceyW wrote:What a crock of shit this comment is. Re: Rabbids Go Home... Yeah!
Why are you blaming the Wii? No console has anything to do with the platformer disappearing anyway.
It started in around 2004-2995. There where some developers publishing 'fun for the whole family'-games ( like the EyeToy ) and they where liked very much. So game developers made more party games. And this already happened long before the Wii was even announced.
And know, people are getting tired of brainless party games and want thought trough platformer games back, think of the return of Jak and Daxter, Rachet and Clank, and if we give a good to go signal to this platformer, most likely we'll be able to put Rayman in this row soon.

Unless Ubisoft starts to think that the rabbids are way more successful than Rayman, and they decide to drop their mascot and we never get to see another game from him again. I doubt that though.Joshua822 wrote:... and if we give a good to go signal to this platformer, most likely we'll be able to put Rayman in this row soon.
Also, 2995? XD

The Wii initially made me happy, because I thought casual games wouldn't be THAT casual. But hey, they are in most of cases, and what's even more annoying, people who make pretty games for it are blamed. This makes me an antifanboy of Wii.

I'm done arguing with you. This argument reminds me of my Playstation-hating 12-year-old self.spiraldoor wrote:Having a wii version of a multiplatform game is detrimental to the quality of the game's proper versions.

Do you even know what you're talking about ?Having a wii version of a multiplatform game is detrimental to the quality of the game's proper versions.
And besides, the Wii could handle HD graphics, it's the Wii's firmware that doesn't use the power of the graphics chip to do that.
And, no, i'm not going to do this whole discussion over again. Rayman 4 should be multi platform and no that wouldn't have to ruin the game for PS3/X360 owners.

It wouldn't if written good way.
Re: Rabbids Go Home... Yeah!
Hmm I don't know about multi-platform. What you're saying is right but as far as gaming industries are concerned, they want to target a specific audience. The Wii, DS and PS3 each attract totally different gamers, so in the long run the game wouldn't make such an accepted sale.

You are right, but as long as game is simple and fun, it can run on all the platforms, with different graphics of course.

There is more to a console than graphics.stan423321 wrote:You are right, but as long as game is simple and fun, it can run on all the platforms, with different graphics of course.
They don't write games that way in the current generation.stan423321 wrote:It wouldn't if written good way.
Notice how all good multiplatform games are not on wii.Joshua822 wrote:Do you even know what you're talking about ?Having a wii version of a multiplatform game is detrimental to the quality of the game's proper versions.

Good for you?
Re: Rabbids Go Home... Yeah!
Which is totally why the PS3 is uber-great, right?spiraldoor wrote:There is more to a console than graphics.
I happen to be very happy with the Wii. Maybe that's because I only own good Wii games.

Re: Rabbids Go Home... Yeah!
You're saying "PS3 is great because of more reasons than graphics", in what I assume would be a sarcastic voice...therefore, that could be read as its opposite, which is "PS3 has good graphics but no other good things"...however I'm not sure this was your intended meaning, and await clarification before I continue.Shawn wrote:Which is totally why the PS3 is uber-great, right?spiraldoor wrote:There is more to a console than graphics.
I don't imagine you own many wii games, then.Shawn wrote:I happen to be very happy with the Wii. Maybe that's because I only own good Wii games.

I shook it off years ago and that's something you should be doing.spiraldoor wrote:Uh Good for you?
Well I own about 8 wii games in total and out of that I think about 6 of them are really good. And I'm eyeing on a few more.

What exactly do you want me to do? Go out and buy a wii, or just stop taking part in discussions about them?StaceyW wrote:I shook it off years ago and that's something you should be doing.

Okay! So Spiraldoor does not likes Wiis. We get it.
Personally, I was not objecting to RGH. I think it actually looks fun, and I never said that just cus RGH exists means Rayman has died or anything.
