Re: Rayman 3 Scores
No, it sounds hard, but it isn't. You only jump into the secret, important is, that you jump a littlebit BEHIND the first gem, if you've got the perfect position, you can jump over the second gem, but the combo won't run out. So the too greem gem will both bring 9000 points. This will only bring 50 points, but think at my favourite sentence from jona: every little improvement is an improvement in score! Now I'm playing SBTC, and it is extremly hard, because I plan, to play SBTC three times. First for 88000, second for 95000, and third for 104500. Then I must never play SBTC until 830000, and this would be a good reason.
Re: Rayman 3 Scores
Interesting, I never knew it was possible to avoid all but one gem in the secret area.
Shame really as it would have given me quite a significant point gain.
And SBTC is indeed a tough egg to beat. I find that getting 85k is easy, 95k challenging and 105k excruciatingly difficult. The problem is your score needs to be dangerously close to the maximum after part 2 in order for you to play part 3 to get the maximum total. Good luck!

Re: Rayman 3 Scores
I know some tricky launching-glitches in part 3, it will bring more than 1500 points. For my first playing, I play my own combos, I made them by myself. For second playing, I will change them into light versions of MandMs Combos, and in third playing, I will maximize the combos. If i mastered THAT, i will play BOM, FC and CF. Here in germany, we've got a lot of long weekends in may, so I will have much time. I think, that FC is non-sense, to play the Matuvutrick for only 35000 points is quite hard, not to compare with the matuvutricks in DOTK, they are easier, because the matuvus must be only comboed in one yellow gem, in FC it's different. The maximized 2-Matuvu-Combo is horrible. I don't want to think at Extended 3 Matuvus Combo...
Re: Rayman 3 Scores
It's a great achievement hitting the Shoe ten times. I've only managed it once, and I was playing for fun! I wonder, can you make a video of your great combo? It would be cool to have a video of ten Shoe hits together with a red gem followed by the Matuvu and the secret room.Cut wrote:No, it sounds hard, but it isn't. Re: Rayman 3 Scores
If i would make a video, what would you give me for that? It's horrible to do that, I mastered it only 1 time too, and the secretcombo including the Matuvu is EXTREMELY hard. Because I am not an egoist, following: I make a video of this combo, I TRY 10 shoe-hits, but don't be sure of that, and you make a video of the Extended 3 Matuvus Combo, including the red gem at 11th position. It would be useful for ALL Elite-players of Rayman, my video would be also very useful. Is it okay?
Re: Rayman 3 Scores
Hehe, I know it's difficult. That's why it is interesting. I remember DTUCC once asked me to make a video of the launching glitch in SBTC part 3. It took me 3 days to get it right. So just be patient
You think I need to give something in return? I have made a plethora of videos already. But I guess I can make one of the Extended 3-Matuvu Combo including the red gem as number eleven.

Re: Rayman 3 Scores
One question: Do you know a Fraps-Version, which is free and without the 30-second-boundary? With Fraps, the vids will have the best quality. I haven't got a youtube-Account, I will register myself in a few minutes.
Re: Rayman 3 Scores
Sorry, don't know anything about Fraps. But if it can help improving the quality of video, then it's cool. I use a digital camera myself, which I place in front of the TV screen. The quality is mediocre at beat.
Re: Rayman 3 Scores
The quality of your vids is good, no comparison to mw's videos, but the vids of CC are the best.
But CC is my favourite R3-Player too, I think he's the best R3-Player ever!!! I think, If he wouldn't play on GC, he would be the real champion. Now, the combo is quite hard, I tried it a few minutes ago, I mastered 7 hits, but no more...

Re: Rayman 3 Scores
I'm sure DTUCC is thrilled to have such a big fan in you. And after all, he is the German champion.
I think the most interesting thing about the video you make is getting one red gem together with ten Shoe hits. Getting the Matuvu for 1.500 points in combo is no big deal, and neither is getting one yellow gem before the two green gems. So if you can manage the first thing, which my patience has prohibited me to go for, the rest is fairly easy.

Re: Rayman 3 Scores
You're right, but CC is an awesome player, I think, he's more awesome than you. To combinate the red gem with the shoe-hits is EXTREMELY hard, because you can't use the turbo and the combo is quite short. At time, I play TOTL for maximum score. I love part 1
I think, the "horrible"-combo isn't as hard as it sounds, I think it's more harder to combinate the hecklers with the piggybanks. If I would master this, I will get 55000 after part 1, and then it wouldn't be a big problem, to reach 104.499!
Re: Rayman 3 Scores
Like I said, you are his most devoted fan. You Germans stick together, huh?
On a serious note, I'm sorry to be the one to break this to you, but DTUCC is currently THIRD when it comes to scoring no matter how you set the rules to fit his particular scoreline. Xenon has passed him months ago if you didn't notice.
If you talk about old days, DTUCC was always behind Jona and they were stuck on 835.000+ points forever with Jona having a few hundred more points that DTUCC. DTUCC only improved upon his 835.000+ points through other players' ideas. If you go further back in history we come to the Block, Nikkoss and Christiaens era.
One last thing, if DTUCC is the most awesome player in the universe, how come you don't ask him for the Extended 3MC or other parts of FC?

Re: Rayman 3 Scores
I can explain it to you. At first I have to say, that CC WAS the world champion. But I think, he's a better player BECAUSE: in the old times of RZ, he was a part of the Elite. He invented combos together with many other Rayman players. I think, It's a good work, to master ALL THE COMBOS from himself and from the others. My problem is: you are the world champion with many OWN combos. And now my question: Whats more difficult? To master a game with combos, which are invented by many people, or to master a game with OWN combos, which are invented for yourself? I think the first thing is more difficult. I think, he's only unlucky, because he's a GC-Player, and GC-Player will lose 800 points in FC. He isn't as good as you, but I think, he did better work than you, so in my mind, he's the real champion. But I don't want to say, that you are an bad player. You are an AWESOME player, to get 44500 of 45000 possible points in FC, this is great work. And to invent the jumps in CF Part 2, this is work, that is great either. But you invented so many things, that I have to think, that you are mastering an OWN game.
Re: Rayman 3 Scores
Excelling in Rayman 3 divides into two separate strands: ability to perform combos themselves and creating new and improved ones. DTUCC was indeed a great player and did actually bring us some alternatives to scoring, but as you said, his work was primarily taken from others'. There are some areas of the game where DTUCC will prevail over others, but equally there are some where he won't.
The #1 indicator is score itself, and he's now third, so...

Re: Rayman 3 Scores
I mastered the first part of TOTL with 54400 points. The most important step for the maximum-score is done!
Re: Rayman 3 Scores
It's a weird debate. I know DTUCC would not consider himself the champion at the moment. The only person to think that is Cut. DTUCC aimed to get as high a score as possible when he played and he acknowledged that the one with the highest score was certainly the champion.
Now Cut introduces som strange ad hoc rules to rearrange the HoF list. In the world of Cut it is suddenly better to play combos created by other players rather than to create your own combos. In this light DTUCC is a better player in SBTC because he used all my combos in this part and I only played with my own combos?
Furthermore, DTUCC should have extra points because he plays on GC? Come on, every platform is different. Some things are harder, or impossible, on one platform and doable on another platform. Maybe he loses points in FC, but in return he is able to combo the Heckler in HH part 2 room 1. It is only possible on certain platforms, like GC and on some PCs with low framerate. Thus DTUCC can score at least 4.000 points more than me in HH. Is that fair? Should we deduct DTUCC 4.000 points because of that?

Re: Rayman 3 Scores
We had the same obscure discussion in the German forum and I don't understand why Cut is bringing it up again. People here are even less likely to agree with him because they don't know DTUCC very well.
The irony behind this debate is that DTUCC always said that Jona was the best player because he invented most of the major combos in Rayman 3 (that was at a time when MandM was still unknown on the forums). It's funny that Cut uses virtually the same argument in order to declare DTUCC the best player of all time.

Re: Rayman 3 Scores
@MandM: You are right, but this is my opinion. The problematic is, that CC wins 4000 points in HH, but he wins not points in the maximum-combo, so in the result, there is no difference (especially for PC-Players
). But different in FC: There is NO fixed maximum-point. Every hit of an Hoodlum (OK, there aren't many Hoodlums) or sth. else is lost in your result. And 800 points is MANY. Especially in FC. Somebody will think, that this is stupid, but this don't interest me. I am a R3-player with my own feeling to do this, and to rate this. CC is the Champion for me in things, what he did, and you are the Champion for me, cuz you are a genius.
Is that okay for you?

Re: Rayman 3 Scores
Of course he wins more points in the maximum combo because of the Lums-Glitch. And I feel sorry for DTUCC, too, that he can't get these 800 points, but nobody can change the situtation.
By the way, what is this bonus you get in LS, Part 3?

Re: Rayman 3 Scores
@Cut: I think you would fare better if you kept your views to yourself. I loathe it when people continously rub their opinion in my face and that's what you've been doing for days, weeks even. It's okay to write your thoughts once, explain them with a calm mind and argue in a respective way but while defending your views you started calling the other players cheaters, losers or the robbers of DTUCC's title. I'm not famed for keeping a respective level in a discussion and I sometimes have troubles restraining myself and not lashing out. Therefore I might not be the best person to tell you this but I still do because my mind is clear right now. Your style has been inappropiate recently and I advise you to change it. The best Rayman players have always had good relationships among each other, discussing techniques and helping each other when facing troubles. I've wondered what your goal is. At first I thought it was to bring activity but then you would have stopped already. Nowadays I almost think it is to force an argument among the top players to disrupt said good relationship. I will not accuse you of this but I will not participate in this discussion any longer, to prevent any ill feelings from coming up. I advise you to not bring it up again and I ask all the others not to do so, either.
I had to say this because this discussion started to annoy me to no end.
