Rayman 1 on Satourne (Sega Saturn emulator)

Post by Rsandee »

I am downloading the game now.... but did someone tried this before?
I mean, on the psx version the sound is messed up and has ALOT of lag!!!
But people say this is the best version of Rayman 1.... and i am wondering if it would work on a emulator!!
Well, if no one is gonna answer, ill find out in an half an hour :x

EDIT: Oh god!!! NOT ANOTHER EMULATOR WHERE I NEED TO MOUNT IMAGES!!!!!
I think ill just stick with the ps1 version on my REAL ps1

What do you mean by mounting the image ?

Anyway, SSF and satourne are good emulators that will play commercial games. but i don't know how well this console is emulated.

Did you set the number of devices before mounting?

Anyway I tried Saturn emulation before but I didn't make it past the Saturn logo.

Hm, I tried a Saturn emulator once, and it worked ( and at a very good speed, even on my old computer! ), but apparently, there is a problem with Rayman 1 on emulators: most of the Saturn emulators can't emulate button presses for Rayman 1, so you can't make it past the "press start" screen. You can wait a while to see a gameplay demo though...

Isn't their an option to load an ISO file ? Or else, if you can't figure out how to use Deamon Tools, here's a great website with documentation

Does the Saturn version have better graphics than the PS1 version?

It has more "out" effects. And I believe it can has better resolution (but I'm not sure about that).

I heard somewhere that the Saturn version has better graphics, but I heard somewhere else that there's no noticeable difference.

The Saturn version has more end-of-level effects, but the sound effects are all different (worse imho), the fruits are all red (instead of being different colours, like in the PS1 version), no present in the sky, none of the PS1 version's redbook music, no mist in Pink Plant Woods part 4 (I think it's 4, anyway) and I think there's even some kind of HUD in the bottom right? And no purple Moskito. PS1 is better.

You could always try YABAUSE instead of Satourne.

Or Cassini.

There's no good Saturn emulator there to destroy the competition like there is with the PS1, so there are several crappy Saturn emulators co-existing.
