Re: Rayman himself
We'd like to talk about Rayman himself and his adventures too.

Re: Rayman himself
Does anyone know if the Rayman franchise is going to move away from the Rabbids and back to Rayman?
I've just had enough of the Rabbids and would like Rayman back.
In other news, I got Rayman DS a few weeks ago and it is much better (in my opinion) than Rayman 2 on PS1. Well, the music isn't so great, but it still rocks!

Re: Rayman himself
Have you not heard about Rabbids Go Home yet? While that's being made there's some chance that we'll see a proper Rayman platformer again but I wouldn't keep your hopes up too high.
And please guys, I don't want to hear any more Rabbids drama.

Wait til you do the return visit to Menhir Hills, it's a nightmare. Port could have been handled much better I think.Marley wrote:In other news, I got Rayman DS a few weeks ago and it is much better (in my opinion) than Rayman 2 on PS1. Well, the music isn't so great, but it still rocks!
Re: Rayman himself
I agree, but the keg glitch in Menhir Hills is just awesome. I had no idea you could use it to walk through areas that (normally) can only be access by riding on a shell.
But you are right, there are some iffy things about this port (*cough* Sanctuary of Rock and Lava; fall of flower platform and camera goes ballistic).

Re: Rayman himself
Btw, I've heard that R3 is the glitchest Rayman game. How come? I've never noticed any glitches, except for one.

Re: Rayman himself
I've never noticed any.
Re: Rayman himself
The one i've noticed is during the 3 stages when you're riding a funky board with the epic disco music, whenever you collect a yellow gem that's acually a few gems all toegther (if you know what I mean), if you fall off and go back to the beginning, the multi yellow gems are back even though they've already been collected!
Re: Rayman himself
Before I'm too late, could you tell me which Funkyboard that is? I know which glitch you're talking about as I've experienced it many times, but I don't recall what level it was. I'm calculating a possible score for TFC so if this glitch occurs there then it would seriously help me out. Especially if it is only available to PS2 players, which I'm suspicious of.
Anyway, the game is dripping with glitches. Just dripping with them. You guys really need to open your eyes.

Re: Rayman himself
yeah thats how i got a huuuge score in clearleaf forest.
Re: Rayman himself
Yeah, It's in TFC, on the PC version, which is what I've got.Xenon wrote:Before I'm too late, could you tell me which Funkyboard that is? Sorry about that, StaceyW. You're right, the Rabbids could be worse. Hey, I actually liked the DS version of RRR.StaceyW said:

Re: Rayman himself
I've always wondered what the gameplay was like. I wish someone would post a walkthrough on youtube.
Re: Rayman himself
Me too. Believe me, it is (in my opinion) the best version, as each costume has an element to go with it, as well as the fact that the game contains more gameplay than mini-games.
Oh, and Rayman can both punch his fists AND shoot energy balls! How cool is that?

Re: Rayman himself
The GBA version is better. It has R1 locations.
Re: Rayman himself
I disagree.
The GBA version was rushed. It was riddled with glitches, and there were very serious issues with the programming.
I'm not going to rant on about it here. I'll do that in a different thread. All I will say is that they could have at least made a hurt animation for Rayman using the same style of sprites that were in the game, not the ones from R3 GBA.

Re: Rayman himself
The DS version was no better because it looked more like a shitty Disney game for the PS1. The DS is quite capable of producing really nice 2D graphics, so why stick with horrid 3D ones?

Marley@: Wait, Rayman can punch AND throw energy balls? Man, I really want to it now.
Spiraldoor@': Aha ha ha, you say the gba version was better? I got bored with it within two days, which was the amount of time it took for me to complete it, including all the lums, cages and stuff. And agree with Marley. This version was pretty rushed indead...

Re: Rayman himself
The costumes had barely any purpose in the game, other than allowing you to take certain paths and beat certain enemies/bosses.
After you got a new costume, the previous one just became useless (by useless I mean having no real point to it anymore).

Re: Rayman himself
The GBA version is by far the best, for many obvious reasons.Dimentio wrote:Spiraldoor@': Aha ha ha, you say the gba version was better?
