Re: Rayman 3 Scores

Part 1 is done with 38695 points. The Hoodlum-combo was worth 11200 points, it was the first time I did that. Normally the combo ran out after I collected the gems on the mushroom, so it's good. I decided, that I will play the first two combos of part 2 like jona did, the rest like MandM did. The messy things with the green lockjaw was TOO messy for me, that means: I couldn't ever reach the Lockjaw^^ I'm going to get 60000 but the Tribelle-Combo is the hardest combo of the whole game for me... Comparison: when I got 102707 in HH, I needed 15 minutes for part 2... one of the easiest parts in the game for me. Now you are allowed to say, that I'm sick :P

Part 2 is done, 59000 points^^ so, every little point is useful to get 88700 after part 3! I tried it 2 times, and it's easy, but every little mistake is a restart, so I have to be patient... part 3 is precisition work, that's normally usual in FC

Some little information for part 2: The last combo didn't work, the hoodiboo wasn't comboed, the Tribelle was comboed for 2000, the Matuvu for 0, I had 44000 after the first area (the place before you fall into the cave with the Tribelle), so you are now allowed to say, that I'm the worst player of LOTLD part 2 ever^^ The fact, that it belonged only 1 day to do it, says everything... but I thought: who cares? CC said, that it's important to get 58500 after part 2, I've got 500 points more...

Congratulations. The hard part is now behind you - you should now easily be able to reach the maximum score in TLOTLD (I remember I did it with 57500 after part 2). It's such a fun world to play too!

Just finished the exams and I will have time for R3 again. I guess I'll return to TOTL part 1 and see if I can nail those 60.000 points. Otherwise I'll go through some of the levels to see if I can squeeze some more points out of them somewhere.

What are you playing at the moment?
Ah right, how did your exams go?

I'm torn between which level to play next. I could go for TFC where I can improve the score by around 1500 points or I could go for TBOM where I can improve the score by 800 points. TFC would be a lot harder and more frustrating though. To be honest I'm lacking in motivation anyway, haha.

Yes, you're right, part 3 is great fun. My only problem is the stairs-combo, I never did it, so I will lost around 500 points there, but this shouldn't be too many lost points. If the rest works well, it wouldn't be a problem. @Xenon: Are you a freak? Maximum at TOTL with 81600 after part 2, Maximum at LOTLD with 57500 after part 2... I think, you like it to relax in the important part, and after that, to make the funny parts horrible... It was hard enough for me to get 91900 with 83000 after part 2 in TOTL, and you??? Just crazy :P

Yeah but TLOTLD was the first level I played when I wanted to improve my score. ^^ I was pretty clueless.

But well, TOTL was probably a different kettle of fish. Parts 1 and 2 are considerably harder than the following parts so I feel I made the right decision when cutting the edge fine in part 3. You can get more points than you imagine in part 4, anyway.

My approach to maximum in TLOTLD was completely different from yours. I put a lot of effort into part 2, getting 60500 after that one and played a relaxed first (with 37000) and third part.

In TTOTL I did an average job in each part. I missed some little combos in part 1 and 2 but got the major stuff right and I did reasonably well with the flying ship.

LOTLD, TOTL and DOTK are very different for me.

If you concentrate, you will need 3-4 hours to get the maximum score in DOTK, here you only have to be concentrated, it's sooo easy then.

TOTL is very average, missing something here, winning something there, with some practise an easy job.

LOTLD connect the two ways. You have to concentrate AND you need some practise too, so I think, it's a bit harder.

Xenon: The exams went very well, thank you. But such a break from R3 makes lose my edge. It will take some time to get the timing back and play the difficult combos once again. All this talk about TLOTLD made me want to play this part again, so that will be my way back into the game. The level is all fun with no annoying places.

As for motivation, I can follow you there. I don't really have the heart to replay FC for these damned extra points or BOM for a new maximum. Let me know what you decide to play.

By the way, just had a look at the HoF. Seems your score has disappeared, what gives?

@MandM: Good luck :D

Today, it didn't work as good as yesterday, I wasn't concentrated, so I did some silly mistakes (especially when I tried to combo the 2nd Matuvu)... I don't plan to get only 87200, and combo the Spider for 3000, after part 3 I won't have the patience for this, because this is difficult, you need much practise. More practise than for part 3, so I try to squeeze out every possible point. How did jona said: "Every little improvement is an improvement in score!" :D

Yeah, you can say that. Looks like everyone's on holiday or have stopped playing.

Anyway, good score on FC. What will you play next?

I've always wanted to replay TLOTLD too but I've never got round to it. Sounds silly but perhaps there's some glitch that can be made in part 5 that would allow a new maximum score. Maybe it's something worth investigating instead of replaying impossible levels like TFC.

I'm not on holiday yet but I have been very busy with college work. I might start playing in two weeks, when I break up for summer.

EDIT: I see my score has indeed been removed. :? No idea how that happened; certainly wasn't a manual removal. I'll try re-entering it as soon as possible.

I'm playing the CF for 104500 points. I do that, because in 4 days, I go on holiday, so after that, I can use ALL the time for SBTC (104500+).

It's quite fun playing those levels again. I opened a new game and I aim for max. scores in CF, TLOTLD, DOTK, HH and TOTL, while getting acceptable scores in the rest. FC, BOM, LS and SBTC are not fun to play for max. scores.

In any case, I just finished TLOTLD with 119.599 as usual. How does this glitch work? Does it involve other gems than the "usual" ones?

Nah I was just wondering if one existed. Like, Rayman could get through the barrier with the SR so could collect red gems before killing the Hoodblasters. It would be a stab in the dark.

One question: Could it be possible to get 101199 in the BOM? Because when I got 90312 there, I had a 1200-Combo at part 6, this was great luck, and the rest was only 400-comboes.

@MandM: How many points do you have in the BOM? 99999 or 100799?

Xenon: Interesting thought. I think I'll give it a go later today.

Cut: I have 100.799 points in BOM. And yes, it's possible to hit Razoff six times on the ball. Last time I played this part I hit him five times and he actually stayed on the ball after these five hits.

At first, I try to squeeze out every point in the SBTC with my own comboes, after that, I play step for step for 104500 points.
