Rabbids infest TMNT's anniversary game

Post by dingodile555 »

As if Ubisoft couldn't suck even more balls, they just have. To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Ubisoft produce a fighting game called "Smash-Ups" which used the Smash Bros engine.
It was announced ages ago and I never read about it again. Just a few minutes ago I decided to go look and see what characters had been confirmed and... Ubisoft have decided to waste roster space with two different Rabbids. Fans hoping to see their favorite character have just been kicked in the nuts. Not only a regular Raving Rabbid, but also the Splinter Cell Rabbid. If this game was "Super Ubisoft Bros Brawl" that would be okay (although excluding Rayman is a crime) but last time I checked this was supposed to be a TMNT game. It would've been cool to just have the Splinter Rabbid (that's his name in the game, so I would've expected him to be a parody of TMNT character named Splinter rather than Tom Clancy spoof) but I think two is more than enough.

There's also this stupid shitty unknown generic character, Utrominator. Wonder what creative genius thought up that name.

I realise this has absolutely nothing to do with Rayman, so you can move this topic if needed.

I'm gonna move this because it's more to do with TMNT if anything. But yeah I heard about this but I didn't want to bring it up. Looks like it's gonna be a generic tie-in Rabbid or no Rabbids, like the one they made about the TMNT movie, which I actually have played.

On another note, there was this TMNT fighter game on the megadrive called Tournament fighters or something, so this one on the Wii isn't the first. I liked Hyperstone Heist and the arcade one better.

I've actually watched the newer TMNT series and honestly thought the old ones were better. TURTLE POWAH

The new series makes me cringe, it's just a god awful disgrace. I saw an episode a few months ago and its horrible how they are shitting on this franchise. I still watch the 90s movies from time to time, they'll always be awesome.

I have the 2007 movie tie-in, it's pretty good for what it is, but since the top and bottom of the screen are cut off (the game doesnt use up the whole screen) it hurts my eyes. Wont be getting this Smash Up game anyways. At first it looked like a game for the fans, but when I saw who was behind it (Ubisoft) I realised it was all for the

The market range is completely different. I mean, what are ninja wannabe kids going to think when they discover that the black unveiled ghoulmasta or whatever is actually a laughing demented rabbid? I smell failure.

And didn't TMNT recently go 3D?

As far as I know it was only for the 2007 movie which I've watched in the cinema because at the time I had some massive craving to download shitloads of TMNT stuff ranging from the arcade games on MAME to the comics that started it all. The movie wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be but it wasn't the best I've seen.

This is tournament fighters BTW

I seriously doubt the new game will even come close to that piece of shiny awesomeness. As for the 2007 movie, when I saw it in cinema I was appauled at it but then when I ended up with the DVD and watched it again, I actually thought it was pretty good. However, it wasn't made in the 90s so it sucks.

That's from the animated series and the original comic books called the Utrom, those things inspired the design of Krang from the old animated series.
