I think if you have massive muscles, are big enough, and heavy enough, you don't really need to learn martial arts for self-defense. Unless it's techniques involving guns. (like, how to take the gun out of their hand.)

When I used to do Tae Kwon Do, our teacher taught a kicking technique which is apparently useful for disarming someone with a hand held weapon. A knife or a gun for example.
