Sorry, Mylifeisinsane, but not even Polokus knows Rayman's age. He didn't create Rayman, so he doesn't know.

Quote from knowledge from the Yellow Lums (Omniscient):
"You have become wise in your own way. The time has come to reveal to you a mystery for which no sage can find the answer. This mystery is you! No one knows from whence you came nor who your parents were.
Of all the inhabitants here, you are the only one whom Polokus did not dream. You are the only one to recieve powers from the fairies. Some see you as the chosen one of all the gods. Who knows...?"

Ah right.

Wait. That could mean Rayman isn't actually from that world.

Correct.

It's also mentioned in the Rayman 2 instruction manual.
"Rayman is a unique character of unkown origin.
No wise man or magician can say by what twist of fate or whim of the gods Rayman came to appear at the Glade of Dreams."

However, any theory that the world Rayman is in in R1 is different to that of R2 is wrong, as the manual goes on to say:
"And when he triumphed over the evil Mister Dark, the truth was undeniable; Rayman was the bravest of them all, the ideal hero, the man for whom friendship and laughter are more important than anything else..." e.t.c., e.t.c.

I hope that in future Rayman games, Ubisoft might be able to shed some light on Rayman's origin.

Me too.

This is interesting. Completly screws up my fanfics, but still interesting.

It doesn't necessarily screw up fan-fics.
Unless you want to try and relate them to the facts existing, that is.

My theory is that Rayman is the son of Mister Dark and Betilla.

Any evidence or is it just speculation?

Mister Dark?

The only possible candidate that I could think of for Rayman's dad is the Magician.

I told one of my friends about Rayman, and she formulated this really crazy theory about Betilla.

No real evidence as such...just the facts that Dark and Betilla are sort of equals, or counterparts, that one is male and one is female, that they both recognise Rayman, that they and Rayman are all very powerful, that we don't know Rayman's origins. It just made sense to me for some reason.

Then again, it is a fan-fic, so you can do whatever you want really.

I'd have to agree with Block, but what about the birthday cake on the Candy Chateau splash screen?

If I remember correctly, it had five candles on it :?

Anyway, I don't particularly think that matters, as Rayman was definatly not four.

You could see two, which means it could be two, four or six. Eight is a bit far-fetched though.

Rayman is about 12 in the first game, then he's like 16 - 17 in rayman 3
