Re: Upcoming Games
SPORE Hero for Wii and SPORE Hero Arena for DS will come this Autum according to what I know from surroundings. I checked the DS version video but it didn't catched me quite attention, now the Wii version I think it's going to be a good game.

There hasn't been a new Jak and Daxter game in ages. Now there's coming one, and we, as Jak fans are very happy about that. Now what do fans of other series do ? Break us down for no fuckin' reason. So what if Uncharted or Zelda is better ACCORDING TO YOU ? We have waited in hope for this moment for years, and now, if we're happy, because our dream is coming true, Mr. PS3 fanbitch and Mr. Funbreaker4321 have to try to break our fun.
Just let fans enjoy their series without being brought down. Is that to much to fuckin' ask ?

By watching trailers, seeing screenshots and reading previews for both games, and by playing the previous games in both series, and by knowing that Jak 4 is going to be crippled by the limitations of last-gen hardware. That's how.Holy Crap wrote:How could you know that?

Re: Upcoming Games
Let me take a guess, Jak 4 doesn't have next gen, super realistic graphics, so it should be broken down ? Yeah, great reasoning.By watching trailers, seeing screenshots and reading previews for both games and by knowing that Jak 4 is going to be crippled by the limitations of last-gen hardware. That's how.
The previous Jak games would say absolutely nothing about the quality of Jak and Daxter 4 : The last frontier.and by playing the previous games in both series,
Do you dislike the games ? Be my guest. It's your opinion. And i'm not going to criticize you for having one.
The only limitation it would have is that it wouldn't have super realistic, high definition graphics. But i don't mind that. I'm a Jak fan, i just want a worthy sequel to the old Jak games, that has the same fun and atmosphere as the older ones, and i want it on a console i can afford. Not to mention it's a platformer, and in that genre super realistic graphbics aren't a must.and by knowing that Jak 4 is going to be crippled by the limitations of last-gen hardware.
Yeah, you certainly are a great thinker. I'm from Belgium, where the native languages are Dutch, French and German. I live in the Dutch region. My Dutch is flawless. My French, German, and English aren't / won't be, because they aren't my native languages. But then again, i at least took the trouble to learn those languages, and i'm already glad that i can understand those a bit. But yeah, if you are going to criticize people for that, you're just being an impossible person.Your poor English and unprovoked rage make that post unintentionally hilarious.
But, yeah, this is just a waste of time, discussing with a fanboy.

I don't know what you think 'broken down' means, but...no. 'No' is the answer to that.Joshua822 wrote:Let me take a guess, Jak 4 doesn't have next gen, super realistic graphics, so it should be broken down ? Yeah, great reasoning.

They say quite a lot, actually. The same developers working on the same series with the same hardware. Hell, how could they not say something about its quality?!Joshua822 wrote:The previous Jak games would say absolutely nothing about the quality of Jak and Daxter 4 : The last frontier.

You seem to be under the impression that the only difference between last- and current-gen games is the graphics. You are so wrong.Joshua822 wrote:The only limitation it would have is that it wouldn't have super realistic, high definition graphics.
Why do you always speak of "super realistic graphics" when what you actually mean is "good graphics"? Great graphics =/= Realistic graphics
You need to understand that. If Jak comes to current-gen systems, the graphics will be way better, but that doesn't necessarily mean they'll be realistic.

Well, why then ?I don't know what you think 'broken down' means, but...no. 'No' is the answer to that.
~Even though you seem to have concluded that it was 'yes'...
First of all, Jak 4 is being developed by High Impact Games, not Naughty Dog. Second of all, same developer doesn't always mean same quality. Especially in a series, good game developers learn from their mistakes. They say quite a lot, actually. The same developers working on the same series with the same hardware. Hell, how could they not say something about its quality?!
Second of all, the hardware doesn't say anything at all about the quality of the game, hardware just runs software,. Unless we're talking graphics.
Uhm, yes, i find that a fun breaker, what's the point, when i and Holy Crap we're talking about Jak 4, to come in and say " Hey, Uncharted 2 is better then this ". That just ruins the fun for us fans.I quite like them, actually. I just prefer the Uncharted games. I never said or implied that there was anything wrong with the Jak games, did I?
No. I'm not ignorant. I know how the Wii has innovated, and how Microsoft is ready to take the Wii on with Project Natal. And the Playstation 3 also has a technology like this, i think. But if we're talking Playstation, i just, like many other people can't afford it. And if you had read my whole argument, you would have known that. I quote myself :You seem to be under the impression that the only difference between last- and current-gen games is the graphics. You are so wrong.
and i want it on a console i can afford.
What does it mean, then ? And what's wrong with the graphics of the game now anyway ? They're good if you ask me.Why do you always speak of "super realistic graphics" when what you actually mean is "good graphics"? I seem to remember having this discussion somewhere before...
Great graphics =/= Realistic graphics
You need to understand that. If Jak comes to current-gen systems, the graphics will be way better, but that doesn't necessarily mean they'll be realistic.
Why should i ? I already explained why i'm angry about those posts.

No, i'm not, actually, i am angry because you find the need to bring down my fun of a new Jak game, not because you like Uncharted better then Jak games. You are a raging Jak & Daxter fanboy.
I won't be responding to this anymore, though, since this discussion just ruins the fun for everybody here.

You're not making sense.Joshua822 wrote:Well, why then ?
You asked me if I thought Jak 4 should be "broken down" because it "doesn't have next gen, super realistic graphics".
I replied by telling you that I did not think this. That is all.
I didn't know that the development of Jak 4 was being outsourced to an inferior studio because Naughty Dog were too busy working on Uncharted 2 (though this explains why you were so touchy about it...)Joshua822 wrote:First of all, Jak 4 is being developed by High Impact Games, not Naughty Dog.
Okay.Joshua822 wrote: Second of all, same developer doesn't always mean same quality. Especially in a series, good game developers learn from their mistakes.
So High Impact Games will learn from the mistakes they made on Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters and Secret Agent Clank, and Naughty Dog will learn from the mistakes they made on Keef the Thief, Rings of Power, Way of the Warrior, Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped, Crash Team Racing, Jak & Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, Jak II, Jak 3, Jak X: Combat Racing, and Uncharted: Drake's Fortune.
Judging by this, do you really think it's reasonable to assume that Jak 4 will be better than Uncharted 2?
Bullshit. EVERYTHING in a game is totally dependent on the hardware. The graphics, the sound quality, the art direction, the physics, the engine, the number of freaking buttons on the controller, the number of characters on-screen at once, the number of FMV sequences, the various peripherals available for the system...Joshua822 wrote:Second of all, the hardware doesn't say anything at all about the quality of the game, hardware just runs software,. The PlayStation Wand is an improved rip-off of the Wii's controller, and Natal is an improved rip-off of the PS2's EyeToy and the PS3's PlayStation Eye.Joshua822 wrote:No. I'm not ignorant. I think that these so-called "innovations" are a load of shit, but I'm not troubled as long as I don't have to deal with them on my own console (this is irrelevant; I'm not quite sure why you brought it up).
And Jak 4 being on a "console you can afford" doesn't make it better than Uncharted 2. The opposite, if anything.
It means that they would make the graphics better, but not that they would make them more realistic to the point that they would be detrimental to the experience of the game which is obviously set in a more cartoon-ish world.Joshua822 wrote:What does it mean, then ? And no, PS2 graphics really are quite poor by modern standards. Have you ever seen a PS3 or Xbox 360 game?
Your last two posts were full of unprovoked rage, that's all.Joshua822 wrote:Why should i ? I already explained why i'm angry about those posts.

It's not ruining the fun for "everybody", it's just ruining the fun for you. You're not understanding my posts. What i am trying to ask you, is why, judging by trailers, Jak 4 is so deeply inferior to Uncharted 2.You're not making sense.
You asked me if I thought Jak 4 should be "broken down" because it "doesn't have next gen, super realistic graphics".
I replied by telling you that I did not think this. That is all.
But let's drop this one. Since i don't want a discussion of Jak 4 vs. Uncharted 2, since this is simply a topic that is based of arguments.
You do know that High Impact Games is known ( well, at least i read that ) to be one of the best studios when it comes to PSP games, right ?I didn't know that the development of Jak 4 was being outsourced to an inferior studio because Naughty Dog were too busy working on Uncharted 2 (though this explains why you were so touchy about it...)
Although i don't have enough time reading all those game reviews from the games of the two studio's, so i can't judge really well here, i'm quite sure High Impact Games won't do a bad job here.
And, in one of the links i posted earlier, the blogpost, the one who played the game was actually quite positive about it. So i don't think it will be that a bad game.
I said that a smart / good developer would do so. I didn't say it is always like that in practice.
I must say, Naughty Dog learned from their faults from Jak 2 in Jak 3. For example, the secrets, in Jak 2 this was pretty confusing, in Jak 3 it was a straightforward secret shop.
And i am not even trying to say that Jak 4 will be better then Uncharted 2. And i already said why in this post.
You just don't get it do you ? You judge the quality of the game, with the capabilities of the hardware in mind. The game needs to utilize everything the hardware has to offer. Jak 4 is utilizing the PS2's capabilities great.Bullshit. EVERYTHING in a game is totally dependent on the hardware. The graphics, the sound quality, the art direction, the physics, the engine, the number of freaking buttons on the controller, the number of characters on-screen at once, the number of FMV sequences, the various peripherals available for the system...
Read my first posts will you ? And even on the internet, you're talking with people most of the time you know.If someone saying that one unreleased game is better than another unreleased game actually put you in a bad mood, then maybe you need to stop taking this whole internet business so seriously.
Because these are the innovations of the current generation of consoles. Go against it, but then you're actually proving me right. I quote you :The PlayStation Wand is an improved rip-off of the Wii's controller, and Natal is an improved rip-off of the PS2's EyeToy and the PS3's PlayStation Eye.

Actually, it does, because Uncharted 2 is on a console i can't afford, i can't actually play the game, thus making Jak 4 better for MEAnd Jak 4 being on a "console you can afford" doesn't make it better than Uncharted 2. The opposite, if anything.
I ask you, HOW SHOULD THEY IMPROVE THE GRAPHICS ? I'M ASKING YOU THIS WHOLE TIME, IF IT SHOULDN'T BE MORE REALISTIC, THEN HOW SHOULD IT BE BETTER ?It means that they would make the graphics better, but not that they would make them more realistic to the point that they would be detrimental to the experience of the game which is obviously set in a more cartoon-ish world.
Let's be honest, when referring to " good graphics " we most of the time refer to realistic graphics. All right, in the good old days, you could say, more colors, and things like that. But now, with 32 bit colors at high definition, it's mostly reffering to realism.
Actually, my last two posts where made since we where debating. Now i'm not mad, i'm just debating that fans of other series shouldn't ruin the fun for fans of a series.Your last two posts were full of unprovoked rage, that's all.

You and Rayman4321 already broke down Jak 4, and without any good reason too. You should think about how other people will feel about your posts, and not only how you feel about them.
I'm not offended. It just boils my piss that some people really always need to push their favorite series to the foreground, and ruin the fun for fans of other series. It's not ruining the fun for "everybody", it's just ruining the fun for you. I never played Jak and Daxter games so I can't give my oppinion.
Re: Upcoming Games
Give them a go, i would say. Rent them, and play them. Preferably in chronological order ( start with Jak And Daxter : The precursor Legacy ) and then play Jak 2 : Renegade, and Jak 3. Though i should note that Jak and Daxter : The Precursor Legacy isn't the game why i fell in love with the Jak and Daxter series, and you will probably also don't. But give them all a go, in the right oder.)I never played Jak and Daxter games so I can't give my oppinion.
I just bought Jak 3 second hand, because of Holy Crap being so happy about those series, and after two hours of playing i was in love with the game
