A Rayman Comic?!

Post by spiraldoor »

Look at this old R3 preview.

The character Rayman has gone on to become a national French treasure, appear as a comic book hero, has had his own TV show and has assumed the mantle of Ubi Soft's most popular characters ever. Now in 2003 -- warm with its recent success in other areas (Splinter Cell, Rainbow Six: Ghost Recon) -- Ubi Soft has returned to its flagship platformer on multiple systems to remind us that Mario, Jak and Daxter and Banjo-Kazooie must content with one of the world's most popular characters ever, Rayman.
What the hell?

Was there some obscure, short-lived Rayman comic that was so insignificant that we never even heard of it, or did this guy make a mistake? He was right about the obscure, short-lived TV show...

What do you guys think?

The only comic I can think of was that kiddies' one they published in Disney's Big Time magazine [search on the wiki for "Hands Down!"]. The guys who used to write some old GBA magazines made the same mistake.

Hmm. I guess that they meant the Rayman 1 game, where Rayman and everything in this game has cartoon - or comic graphics.

That's my decision :)

I'm sure that's a mistake from the author of the text, because the only comic I know it is from R2 style and it is called "Hands Down!". I guess the same guy doesn't know Rayman suficiently well...
