Re: Rayman will be in Academy of Champions
This looks much better than RGH. I would definitely buy this although the graphics are bad.
Re: Rayman will be in Academy of Champions
Well I mean his hands and feet are are distanced the way they would for a regular human being.PluMGMK wrote:What limbs?Lijik wrote: his limbs are out of proportion.
Its easier to just called that empty space "limbs" instead of "distance from Rayman's hand and feet"
That bugs me less because everyone has a long neck in this game. Jade just has less to cover it up than the other characters so its more obvious.StaceyW wrote:I love the Jade one too, long neck is long
Re: Rayman will be in Academy of Champions
The Rayman model is horrible. I like the overall style of the rest of the characters though. c:
Also Jade is in it, yay!

Rayman looks like he's smoking something.
Same. I wasn't as excited as I imagined I would be seeing Rayman in a new game...

No, that couldn't have been more with what we are talking about.

Great news that Rayman and Jade are in new games, but the actual game itself doesn't interest me, not right now anyway.

Re: Rayman will be in Academy of Champions
This is some vile, ugly shit. What is wrong with this game? Ubisoft gets worse and worse every year. This art is so ugly and the Rayman looks like someone in a furry costume. Why are his feet so small?
I don't even want to get started on that ugly Jade and Prince of Persia. Ah, Ubisoft, how the mighty have fallen.

Re: Rayman will be in Academy of Champions
To be fair on Ubisoft as a whole (though I know hating on them is like drinking water in these parts), this game is being done by a newly formed team. As in its going to be their first game. You don't go out making something like Rayman 2, Yoshi's Island, or Braid in your first try.
Besides, Ubisoft has always had some stinkers released. The year that brought us PoP:The Two Thrones and King Kong also gave use 187: Ride or Die. In the early 2000s there was this crappy Alfred Hitchcock game released. Their DS launch title was freaking "Sprung". Im sure theres more if you bother to look it up but those three are the ones I remember the most.

Re: Rayman will be in Academy of Champions
While we're on about DS games, here's a funny fact - Ubi are blaming a 50% sale drop on DS piracy. Geee I wonder why, hhmmmm, let's see, My ____ coach, Imagine, Telly Addicts, shit ports of Assassin's creed and Rayman 2, HMMMMMMM what shall I do with my 20-30 quid? I know, I'll buy dog food. <:

Re: Rayman will be in Academy of Champions
Yeah right, like Ubisoft should be complaining about DS piracy when they regularly farm out their handhelds to their Asian development branches, in which they work for cheap and release games not well developed. Maybe there is some piracy, but I would bet less and less people are buying their DS games when there are quality DS games coming out every few months demanding more priority.
Anyway, I just think Academy of Champions looks incredibly bland. Maybe I wouldn't care so much had they not made a selling point of putting key characters from the best Ubisoft games and making them look awful. Even if it's a new team at Ubisoft, they should be putting an experienced art director behind it. Things like Braid and Castle Crashers looks wonderful and aren't exactly done by hardened veterans either. It also makes me sad that they invest money in this tripe but don't put anything behind Ancel creations, who just seems to be working behind the curtains now doing nothing of importance.

Ubisoft has really given themselves a bad name...
They should at least fix the crappy box art- maybe ditch the unknown-to-the-public characters and throw in all the classics.

It would be great if we could actually do something about Ubisoft's current state.
But we can't!

Re: Rayman will be in Academy of Champions
haha 'course
To be honest, I'm surprised we haven't arranged a strike outside Ubisoft France, or got the public from across the globe to sign a petition or something to get us recognised...

Re: Rayman will be in Academy of Champions
I wonder who's responsible for what Ubisoft are doing now. I think that Nintendo indirectly contributed, what with their Wii development tools causing the cancellation of R4 and its recycling into RRR1. And I can't really see Imagine being a great success on anything other than the Nintendo DS.
But I'm sure there must have been some deliberate and intentional shift from the old Ubi to the new one somewhere in the upper administration levels...

Re: Rayman will be in Academy of Champions
Maybe someone new is in charge, or some thick-headed guy bought the company.
Nah, I bet that they suddenly realised how well-known their company is, and developed some 3rd class crap to make a quick buck or two.
