Change Rayman?
How would you feel if Ubisoft proposed that they are going to completely re-vamp Rayman's look to increase publicity in a new game, like say, give him limbs and a more "human" look or change his name and ditch all things magical?
Re: Change Rayman?
I would like a game with suits (just like in R3) that change Rayman's colors..... but a new name and stuff would be the worst action in the history of fail's!!
Re: Change Rayman?
Well, if that happened it would no longer be Rayman, it would be a completely different franchise. Plus it would mean that we'd never get another Rayman game, so I don't think I'd be very happy with that

Re: Change Rayman?
I'd go apeshit. Honestly.
Re: Change Rayman?
I don't know, but maybe instead of a "Rayman 4" it would be like "Ricardo" (ingnore the name please), and would seem to the un-trained eye like a completely new game.
I remember having a conversation in another topic about how it would be cool if Rayman no longer had a +3 rating and was more violent etc. would appeal to older gamers, because the rabbids are generally just for the kids and the thick casual gamer.
Maybe a change would be good, in a way.

Re: Change Rayman?
Depends how big the change is. Obviously, Rayman has changed enormously in the past decade but he's still recognisable as the same character. So I think small changes are fine. If he were to develop limbs though, that would totally ruin his profile.
Re: Change Rayman?
^ agreed.

Re: Change Rayman?
Ubi said that the Rabbids appeal to older players, not Rayman. If they did that, the franchise would lie in ruins!Acarr wrote:I don't know, but maybe instead of a "Rayman 4" it would be like "Ricardo" (ingnore the name please), and would seem to the un-trained eye like a completely new game.

Re: Change Rayman?
I would be relieved in a way if they completely rebooted the series and started from scratch. Not that I'd have any interest in the 'new Rayman'; it would just mean that they'd finally leave the 'real Rayman' in peace.

Re: Change Rayman?
That's not too far from the truth, although we have had some hopeful sounding announcements recently...

Re: Change Rayman?
I think Rayman has been lucky, he hasn't had any major changes at all. Same can't be said for other 90s platformers I love like Crash and Spyro.
Re: Change Rayman?
Have you heard of Rayman Raving Rabbids? To be fair, this can still be corrected though... fingers crossed!

Re: Change Rayman?
Yes, yes I have. But Rayman still looks unmistakeable, his look hasnt been changed drastically at all.MrBadGuy99 wrote:Have you heard of Rayman Raving Rabbids? To be fair, this can still be corrected though... fingers crossed!
Re: Change Rayman?
Not at all actually. Maybe on the front cover of RRR, but that's just a deformed version of the Rayman 3 model..
Re: Change Rayman?
His appearance has changed significantly since the release of the first game though...
Re: Change Rayman?
If they say they'll change it again though, his new look would be such a mystery...

Re: Change Rayman?
Who cares? They already killed Rayman
, any horrid changes to him in the future fortunatelly cannot change his former glory (In ray1-3 and everything inbetween)

If he grew limbs, he should see a doctor.Acarr wrote:How would you feel if Ubisoft proposed that they are going to completely re-vamp Rayman's look to increase publicity in a new game, like say, give him limbs and a more "human" look or change his name and ditch all things magical?

Re: Change Rayman?
I like to ignore the non-Naughty Dog Crash games and the non-Insomniac Spyro games. The Wrath of Cortex makes no sense in the context of Crash 3's ending, anyway, so that one's not much of a stretch. And The Legend of Spyro certainly isn't part of the same continuity as the original games.dingodile555 wrote:I think Rayman has been lucky, he hasn't had any major changes at all. Re: Change Rayman?
Well you're missing out... cause in my opinion the best Crash and Spyro games are Twinsanity and A Hero's Tail respectively, both from 2004. And I have been a fan for over 10 years.spiraldoor wrote:I like to ignore the non-Naughty Dog Crash games and the non-Insomniac Spyro games.
