Re: Rayman will be in Academy of Champions
It sure would be nice if we all had a confirmed e-mail or he made himself more available to fans to comment as most developers/designers are doing now with blogs and posting on their own forums.
Sometimes I get the feeling Ancel has no idea how many fans he has of the original Rayman games and Beyond Good and Evil in English speaking countries, especially in the US where people tend to avoid his games (they haven't seemed to appeal to the general American taste, although the Rabbids certainly did).

Re: Rayman will be in Academy of Champions
Can Ancel actually speak English, or did he just practice those lines in that weird video of him being attacked by the rabbids in the end?

Re: Rayman will be in Academy of Champions
They could just make a platformer without him. That's what they did last time.PluMGMK wrote:If he leaves UbiSoft, we'll never get a Rayman game!
I want the series to end on a high note. Rayman 3 was an acceptable entry to the series, but it's nowhere near as good as the climactic final instalment should be.PluMGMK wrote:I'd have been happy if there was no R4, but now they have to make one to fix what's broken.
They should make Rayman 4; it should be the best game in the series; it should win at least a few GOTY awards; and it should make some attempt to bring together the events of the previous three games into a more cohesive continuity. Then they should leave the series in peace.
Re: Rayman will be in Academy of Champions
In fact, it's the opposite. Ubisoft deliberately designed it to be a prequel as there are several characters who mysteriously disappeared... plus in TFC Murfy clearly says "see you in Rayman 4" just before Rayman exits the level.I want the series to end on a high note. Mehh, I'm still confident we'll see Rayman return in a proper platformer.
Re: Rayman will be in Academy of Champions
I use that quote from Murfy as also a reason to my faith of someday watching R4.Xenon wrote:plus in TFC Murfy clearly says "see you in Rayman 4" just before Rayman exits the level.
And I'm still with faith also because of RGH, only the title can hide a secret message.

Re: Rayman will be in Academy of Champions
That was the only reason I bought RRR so it was a huge disappointment for me. I still had the will to finish it at the time, but I got sick of the Rabbids after a while.Xenon wrote:plus in TFC Murfy clearly says "see you in Rayman 4" just before Rayman exits the level.

The Score Mode seems to be impossible having 1000 in everything.

Hey most likely does, as most French people seem to know English, or at least that's the experience I had in Paris, even though it was of course the biggest tourist area available.Acarr wrote:Can Ancel actually speak English, or did he just practice those lines in that weird video of him being attacked by the rabbids in the end?
I'm just guessing he doesn't pay much attention to the success of his games worldwide as much. His games all definitely have a sort of French flair in them that you might find in one of their animation shorts or movies.

Re: Rayman will be in Academy of Champions
Hi
I just saw an advert for this on telly, it's already out now over here. They showed a Rabbid for like 2 seconds but no Rayman. I'm not willing to really shove at least £24 on it just yet.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but RRR GBA was an early prototype almost for what the original R4 was going to be...and Murfy was in it.
But yeah, I use that quote too.

Re: Rayman will be in Academy of Champions
Well, that's not exactly true. While none of it is confirmed, it is suspected that RRR GBA was going to be the handheld version of the platforming version of the original Ancel Rayman Raving Rabbids, probably started much earlier than the other ports. It's not what would be called a prototype in the gaming industry.MLII[2Random4U] wrote:Sorry to burst your bubble, but RRR GBA was an early prototype almost for what the original R4 was going to be...and Murfy was in it.
The thing killing this theory is all of the missing stuff in the RRR GBA version that was shown in the original Rabbids promo pictures when Ancel's vision was much more involved.

Re: Rayman will be in Academy of Champions
Yes, but that GBA version was unfinished!
Look at the "RRR GBA: Poor effort by Ubisoft" topic.

Re: Rayman will be in Academy of Champions
Do you even know what a gaming prototype is MLII?
What I'd like to know is how long this game actually took to be developed, it's just as glitchy as the real RRR is.

Re: Rayman will be in Academy of Champions
The ending of the GBA version is disappointing...

Re: Rayman will be in Academy of Champions
To be completley honest, not really. I was referring to the fact RRR GBA is an old console, and the version is different to the other versions, so I presumed they tested the game somehwhat on the GBA.StaceyW wrote:Do you even know what a gaming prototype is MLII?
That's all.

Re: Rayman will be in Academy of Champions
It's unfinished in the sense that things were cut out, but the game is fully completable, even with bugs. Even if they officially released the game as incomplete in a box, cartridge, with official label, it still wouldn't be considered a prototype.PluMGMK wrote:Yes, but that GBA version was unfinished!Look at the "RRR GBA: Poor effort by Ubisoft" topic.
A prototype would officially be a version of the game before release, but it can also be a quick demo of game mechanics and playable parts early on to see if the game's concept actually works.
So while in the RRR GBA, you'll see me agree the game seems unfinished and rushed, it's not a prototype, and definitely not some kind of test prototype in which the RRR Wii version was based off of.

Of course it will. But you HAVE to buy it because Rayman is in it. Or Pele will kill you in your sleep.Rayman4321 wrote:For some reason i think that Academy of Champions is gonna be a bad game...

Who here thinks it looks kinda Dreamworks-ish, and no that's not a good thing
