And if he was dead, why he would appear back in Rayman 3 GBA and the Rayman TV series, or even in Rayman Kart for mobile phones, and Rayman M/Rush/Arena?

There is another theory that Razorbeard just went to space to escape, and that he will never come back. Don't be SOOOOO pessimist.

Then I say: Bowser should be dead, after falling in lava many time, no? He isn't. Just a little expample.
Razorbeard was really an AMAZING baddy. If Ubisoft wanted to make him come back, they would do it, EXACTLY as they did for the games I said just before.
Yep, but if you just look at the Rayman 2 game and not at the others, it's like sure that Razor is dead.
And @ your bowser story: Correctly, in the next game he appears again, but in the game you kill it and it's dead.

Pessimist?
The hard truth, I think..

Ok then, think what you want. Sorry I got a bit mean because I really like this baddy... :oops2: But in my opinion I still think he only escaped in space and that he will never come back. (unless if Ubisoft make him come back, but I really don't think so, unless there is a miracle. XD)

Not really, as you're the only one who seems to believe this. :?

~If Razorbeard was killed in the explosion of the Buccaneer (ignoring the fact that he's made of metal, making him more durable than Rayman, who certainly did survive; also ignoring the fact that Ubisoft showed us Razorbeard flying away in his escape pod), then why would he be buried in the Tomb of the Ancients? Who'd bury him there, seeing as how all Robo-Pirates were destroyed by Polokus, and Razorbeard's body would have been lost under hundreds of thousands of tonnes of metal wreckage on the bottom of the sea?

Yeah, I love Razorbeard too, that's why I've chosen this name :).

Who told you he's died because of the explosion?

Well, if he didn't die in the explosion, when did he die? :?

And who buried him in the Tomb of the Ancients, where you imply that the 1000th lum came out of him and went into the secret room? :boon:

The secret room is the grave of Razor, who buried him I don't know.

If the room is his grave, then why is there no indication of this? A gravestone, for example? And why is the lum there before you defeat Razorbeard?

You're right, but why would the lum be there if Razorbeard is somewhere else? And the Tomb of Ancients is made of graves only..
spiraldoor wrote:And why is the lum there before you defeat Razorbeard?
Lots of programming is needed to change a level if you've defeated a character in another level..

Lums are made of energy, and robots need energy to function. That's why Robo-Pirates eat Red Lums, which explains why you find Red Lums when you break them open. To the Robo-Pirates, Lums are merely batteries. And when batteries run out of energy, they're discarded.

Razorbeard was probably visiting the Tomb of the Ancients, inspecting his troops, or taking a look at the Pirates' new inventions. The Yellow Lum he ate was running out of energy, so he spat it out and got another Lum. It makes perfect sense to me. (In Revolution, you find that Lum with the Lums Radar (which is a giant magnet which is attracted to lums), implying that Razorbeard got the Yellow Lum magnetically sucked out of him). :P

Adding one single lum in a secret room that people usually aren't even aware of? That doesn't sound too difficult. Look at the differences in Rayman's second and third visits to the Menhir Hills; they're much more substantial.

Besides, you can't save the game after defeating Razorbeard; you're just ejected back to the main menu, so being able to collect a lum from Razorbeard's grave doesn't make chronological sense, whatever way you look at it.

Razorbeard has to be alive. Why else would he be in Rayman 3 for the GBA? That alone should be proof enough. I know someone already mentioned this, but no one has taken close consideration to it.

Just to chime in here, because I don't think for a second he is dead, but when I first beat Rayman 2 before there was a Rayman 3 or Arena or any sequels, I thought because of the credits sequence, for sure Razorbeard was coming back for another game.

It also kind of sucks he hasn't come back for a full game too, but oh well.

Either that or he went to the toilet, since the lum is in a sewer-like area... :beurk:

Um, can I say something?
Rayman kills hundreds of standard robo-pirates beforehand...
No. No, no, no, no, no. They are ROBOTS. You can't KILL robot. Robot is not a living form. It's machine. That means Rayman DESTROYS hundreds of Robo-Pirates. Not kill.

And if you want to know my opinion, I think it is that way: Razorbeard has escaped by his little ship into space - and that's all, no heaven and all that sort of thing. Whatever has happened with him after that, it remains unknown. He can be dead (or destroyed, in fact), he can be alive. We don't know that. Probably versions other than PC/PS2 are not canonic, like Rayman M or even the GBA version. So we can't tell he is dead or alive on the basis of them.

About 1000st Lum: think a moment. Tomb of the Ancients is a giant graveyard. There is possible that Razorbeard has killed the Yellow Lum by eating him. So? Maybe that Lum on the graveyard is just a GHOST of this Lum. And I guess that this special tomb is just a random place, which Robo-Pirates has taken over, like many others.

"Rayman, today we honor you" sequence is just the moment, where Rayman's friends officially thanks him for his help.

That's all from me. Thanks for reading.

Hey, yeah! :D That would also explain why it isn't added to your lum count.

If lums ran out of energy, then how could they then all be collected to power the heart of world? That would certainly run out of energy making there no point in even collecting the lums after the pirates destroyed it!

Now this is just getting weird. Can't we all just accept that Razorbeard is alive, and that the 1000th lum was just hidden in a secret room just for fun by the developers of the game that just so happened to have put it in that level? :|

Yes, we can. I've just said how it looks in my opinion - the first thing that I've thought about all this. Especially the ghost lum idea. :P
