People sell off their old shit for all sorts of reasons - clearing out the house, getting just a little money to get by would be the top reasons.

It's actually because the PC and N64 versions are the originals while all the others are ports. Or the PC is the original at least.

Back in the day with the PC demo, they had an e-mail address you could send stuff to, adding recommendations for the game because it was still in-progress.

I would have liked the PC version more if it wasn't for those CD MISSING problems aka giant Pirate head

Yeah. The patch fixed all of that for me. Even then, there was 2000/XP compatibility mode on Vista. I can't run the PC version anymore though just because I'm on 64-bit, and the piracy software they use won't work with 64-bit OS'.

Hey, I've been playing Revolution a little again. Thinking about doing a Let's Play or something even though I kind of hate this game.

What was the button on this version of seeing the extra story stuff for breaking cages? In Rayman DS and the N64 game, it was just holding L or whatever to cover your eyes, and then you see the extra bits. I'm too lazy to start a new game to see right now. :\ Can anyone help? lol

You mean, "thinking?" I don't think you can do that in Rev, sadly.

I'm starting a new game now. Watching the beginning over. :\ lol

Typing this as I play, hang on...

God, I hate the fact that the Silver Lum gives you the power to physically SWING YOUR FIST not SHOOT IT. :\ Makes a hell of a lot of sense much?!! :pascontent: At least SHOOTING it was some form of magic, and it made sense that it had to be acquired!

Okay, playing some more...

Yep, Stacey, you're right, no thinking ability.

WHAT THE HELL?! THAT WAS THE WHOLE PURPOSE FOR ME WANTING TO COLLECT ALL THE LUMS! NOW THEY JUST MAKE UNLOCKABLES IN ITS PLACE RATHER THAN KEEPING BOTH? [avgn]WHAT A SHIT LOAD OF FUCK![/avgn]

Way to take all the awesome back story away! :pascontent:

What do the Teensies even do with the Lums you spend on powers and minigames anyway?

And yeah that was quite a wimpy punch at that, sad to say.

Assemble it back into the Heart of the World?

Or just take them away as currency, since that's all the lums are in this game? lol

I don't know, now that I've gotten used to the control in the DS version, I actually prefer the DS or N64 versions over the PS2 version... when I don't have my PC copy available.

And I don't have a Dreamcast; I only played that version at a friend's house. :(

Maybe I should invest in a DC and a DC copy of R2 one of these days. The DC was pretty awesome, though short-lived.

The PS2 version just lacks so much of the depth that I found when I first played the game that it actually almost hurts my childhood. lol But I can hate on it as much as I want, and people will still say that it's the best thing to happen to R2 since sliced bread.

You give the Lums to the Teensies in Magic Wells; I think the Wells are connected to the Fairy Council through underground magic energy lines or something, and that the Teensies send the Lums along them to rebuild the Heart of the World or something.

You can see the knowledge from the lums here.

~I appreciate the extras added in Revolution, but in many ways the developers did a fucking lazy job on it. I actually think it was ported directly from the N64 version. No attempt whatsoever was made to make it the 'ultimate' or 'definitive' version.

It's probably worth trying to find a new Dreamcast nowadays, they shouldn't cost that much but they're not common, especially brand new anyway. Shame I'm in Europe, my second Dreamcast could do with a new home once it's fixed up.

I have two because the first one I had began to have a major problem with resetting itself, and as it kept going, the time you get to actually play got shorter. I was then given a second one which ended up having a reading problem - those two happen to be the most common problems, but by following some good youtube vids about it both can be fixed by opening them up and giving them a good dusting. I serviced my first one about a year ago and saw a load of dust inside, and using facial wipes to clean the lens, it now works great and I've played Rayman 2 for ages on it, which is amazing since that one has been in the loft for at least half a decade. The other one I've yet to fix.

My friend's DC sounded like a bone-saw when it spun the disk. I don't know if that's true for all DC's, but it was kind of hilarious.

And we had to play on his TV that screeched whenever the screen was yellow for whatever reason. It made the desert in SM64 painful to play. :P

And there we have it, one of those awesome parts of the entire game. Now if only Ancel would be able to make another Rayman adventure game for a change.

I think it's something to do with the electrons moving across the screen. Strange, then, that mine's loudest when the screen's black! :confus:

It's just a faulty TV.

I had a CRT monitor that screeched when a certain area was white up until several dots in the area died.

I only saw and played a Dreamcast two times in my life. Both in friends houses (Different houses and friends) but the same game :tssk: (Sonic Adventure). I can remind how funny it was to watch the LCD from the VMU with a picture on the BIOS and in-game.

lol if there is one good thing to come out of Revolution, it is the larger variety of pirates.

I love the zombie-ish ones that shoot sludge at you in that new factory sort of area.
