Re: Rayman 1
Download the fre trial of CloneCD. It's capable of ripping the subchannel data from a disc (i.e., CDDA music), and is pretty much the only software that can make a decent R1 ISO.

Re: Rayman 1
In what way? Did it fail to rip the music, or the entire game, or what? Have you configured it correctly?

I tried emulating the Saturn version ages ago but with no avail. the good news is that I finally got round to getting another copy of the game on eBay which cost me five smackers so I'm just waiting for it now.

It only rip the game and not the music. I don't really know what I should use for configuration.spiraldoor wrote:In what way? Did it fail to rip the music, or the entire game, or what? Have you configured it correctly?

Me neither. It appears to work, but then it doesn't accept any control. >: (

Well, the NTSC version is unplayable, but the SSF website says that the PAL version is playable, but the D-Pad responds too quickly (what?).Phoenixan wrote:Me neither. It appears to work, but then it doesn't accept any control. >: (

Select "Read to image file" (the sunglasses icon), then right-click on the white box on the left. Select "Settings ...", and make sure that "Allow reading of subchannel data from data tracks", "Allow reading of sunchannel data from audio tracks" and "Allow reading of CD-text from audio CDs" are all checked. The clic OK, then Next. Then right-click on the white box and select "New" to create a new profile (call it whatever you like). Then, right-click on your new profile and select "Edit". Under Data Read Setting, make sure that "Read subchannel data from data tracks" is checked, and under Audio Read Settings, make sure that Audio Extraction Quality is set to "Best [Slowest]". Then click "OK", "Next" and "OK". It should then rip the game properly.CheatCat wrote:It only rip the game and not the music. I bet he's lurking, otherwise how would he know when it's time to come back?

Why would he be lurking now? Matyuv won't be demodded until he leaves and that probably won't be for at least ten years.syntheticgerbil wrote:I bet he's lurking, otherwise how would he know when it's time to come back?

Re: Rayman 1
My copy of the Saturn version arrived today and so far I can confirm the following:
* most of the cage positions are the same as those in the PS1 version
* when you successfully finish a Magician's round, YOU'RE TRIPPIN BALLS MAN
* The first Moskito battle uses the same scenery as that in the PC version [the flooding one], and big Moskito is the same colour.

Re: Rayman 1
Something that has puzzled me for a while is why it is parallaxed in the flooding level, but single-layered in the boss-fight.StaceyW wrote:The first Moskito battle uses the same scenery as that in the PC version [the flooding one],

Can you clarify that a little?StaceyW wrote:* when you successfully finish a Magician's round, YOU'RE TRIPPIN BALLS MAN
Also, what colour are the small flowers that sink when you stand on them? Is there a present on the world map? What colours are all the spiky fruits? Is there any exclusive music like the PS1 version had? How many fade-out animations are there? Do they all have their own little jingles? They seem to, judging by YouTube, if I recall. Is the first level in Bongo Hills like in the PS1 version or the PC version? Does Rayman say stuff if you leave him alone, like in the PC version? What's the framerate like? How do the graphics compare to the other versions? And so on...

Re: Rayman 1
Judging by Youtube, the spiky fruits are orange, red and purple and the mini-flowers have red bow-ties.

Re: Rayman 1
I've seen at least 5 fadeouts and the little jingles do differ. And yeah, there are orange spiky berries as well as red and purple ones, just like the PS1 one.
By tripping balls, I mean that it's like, a really trippy light blue tunnel sorta thing and it really caught me off guard.
My copy doesn't seem to play the theme/world map song, and that's because there were like, big curvy scratches on the near edges of it. This is what pisses me off about second hand, most people only seem to try and sell it off when their own games don't work anymore.
Graphics are OK and the framerate is not much different. However when you start your saved game it plays the intro, the quality of which is shite compared to the PS1 one.
I've only gotten as far as Moskito's Nest before the saturn somehow wiped my save off. So before I move on I've gotta check if there's anything wrong with the memory battery, mine still had a black ribbon inside and taking that out seemed to help a little. If I have to set the language again then there's some chance the memory may be dead or dying...ffff

Re: Rayman 1
Is there any way to get the memory replaced or whatever, or do you have to get a new Saturn? That is, if it's the memory itself, and not the battery?

Re: Rayman 1
Apparently you either get a new battery or a new card, the latter which costs a bomb apparently.
Before I send my discs off to get fixed, I just wanna add - when I got to Bongo Hills to try instead of Moskito's nest, the background on the first level actually has the clouds background instead. Also, idle animations remain the same as those in the PS1 version, no speaking or anything.
