Re: Rayman 3 Scores
Not sure if you're aware of this but I just tried to edit my profile and I got a big red error saying that I can't have anything more than 100 in my Rayman 3 score so I had to wipe it.
Re: Rayman 3 Scores
You can't have more than 100 cages either.

How did you make that fake entry anyway?Matyuv wrote:You can't have more than 100 cages either.
Re: Rayman 3 Scores
Yep, you'll need to enter your score in the actual HOF, not via your profile. It's about time that got removed.StaceyW wrote:Not sure if you're aware of this but I just tried to edit my profile and I got a big red error saying that I can't have anything more than 100 in my Rayman 3 score so I had to wipe it.

Re: Rayman 3 Scores
I did that like, ages ago but it was only on my profile panel when it screwed up.

btw I was browsing the old topics at pc and it seems that my actual R3 score was around 440k it seems.
Re: Rayman 3 Scores
I've finished TLOTLD with 121099 now.
Re: Rayman 3 Scores
I've been really lazy lately. Under normal circumstances I'd jump at the chance to easily improve 849k... I'm just not motivated at the moment.
Re: Rayman 3 Scores
I have not been motivated, either, until DTUCC confirmed that 121000 were indeed possible. I've wanted to try some stuff in TLOTLD for some time and this was the perfect opportunity.
Re: Rayman 3 Scores
ok, I just found out that you can't pass 100K with Razoff, so there will not be a 700 points imrpovement in BOM for me. also, I don't want to play for 101.199 right now, so I just quit BOM for now. My first goal is to pass 856K now by improving SBTC to 112K. Afterwards I wanna pass 46K in FC by using a slightly improved combo.
and THEN I absolutely want to find a way to combo the matuvus in part 2 of FC for 1.250 points

Re: Rayman 3 Scores
It's been quite a while since I've been here. I'm still not able to play R3. It's been two months now, and what's even worse, I can't play guitar as well. When I eventually get back in working order it will be like starting from scratch on both. Horrible really.DTUCC wrote:ok, I just found out that you can't pass 100K with Razoff, so there will not be a 700 points imrpovement in BOM for me. also, I don't want to play for 101.199 right now, so I just quit BOM for now. First of all, congratulations CC for the great scores in FC and SBTC. May I ask, what combos did you improve in FC? And what's your score after each of the first three parts?
As for the Matuvu in part 2, I have got that in a big combo a long time ago when playing for fun. I haven't used it in the game yet. But I will in the future of course.
And now I have to play SBTC again, sigh. I have a new idea though, so it will be interesting to try out.
Re: Rayman 3 Scores
would be nice to hear you're back again. but i guess that'll still take a few weeks...?
as for FC, I will reveal my combos for sure. I dunno when, probably when I'm finally happy with my score in FC (which will be around 46.900, by the way). However, I absolutely want to be the first to pass 46K in FC, and I'm actually too afraid of anyone getting there before me
also, i'm very curious about you (and everyone else as well). it's a pity you can't play, but before revealing my combos i'd somehow like to turn the tables. basically, you have every information that i had, namely my total score. that's all i knew when i replayed FC and that's what got me to 45.990 points now. i'm pretty convinced that you would be able to catch me again, even if i will not tell you anything, aren't you? and even if you aren't by now, it would take you just a few days to find out my combos, wouldn't it?
Also, this is probably the best way to improve FC even more. as more people may start to investigate FC, it's more likely that anyone gets some new ideas.
as said, i definitely will reveal my combos. i just want to see if you'll be able to catch me without me revealing anything. I'm pretty sure you will. anyway, i won't start an argument this time. if you don't want to look yourself (which i could also understand) then just stay patient until i'm happy with my score in FC
As for my progress in FC:
I know how I could improve the matuvus combo in part 2 by something like 160 points. that would make 46K in FC but it's just not what i'm looking for.
"a big combo" - as you call it - for that matuvus depends on how big it is. i can actually take it for 750 points in combo, but i'm still convinced it's possible for 1.250 points in combo. however, i have no idea how it works. but i'll find out.
you can actually take it for 1250, i believe.
About SBTC:
do you actually have an idea to increase the maximum score? i'm like 100 points in front of you there. i really don't see any point for you in repleaying SBTC.

Re: Rayman 3 Scores
It's ok to hesitate about revealing the combos in FC. I did the same for a while for different reasons. One of those I didn't talk about was the Matuvu for 2.000 points in part 4 room 1, the one you used. The reason for not making that public was that I didn't use it myself. I had trouble reaching the Mushroom on time with the Vortex. In fact I only managed it once back then, so I continued without it. I had enough points at the time anyway. I will use it now thanks to a small tip from sfn. Another combo I did reveal, but only through PMs. I was also concerned with Mostwanted's trick at the time.
As for reaching 46k, well, there are basically two ways you can reach that score. I was just curious which road you had taken. But we can talk about that later. There is no reason for any arguments, but if you think back on our argument a while ago, there is a hint buried in there somewhere
Let's talk about the Matuvus in part 2 when I'm ready to play again. I don't think I'll include a Matuvu combo in part 2 the first time I play FC. They are horrible no matter what version you play.
It's almost two years since I got my score in SBTC. I have always known it would be possible to get more points. The obvious way is to maximize the kick-flipping. I can probably get three more flips and thus get 450 points extra, which will take me past 112k. However, I have postponed replaying this level so far because it is horrible. It will take me at least a month to get the edge and the green gem in the same combo (I usually only play one or two hours a day in weekends and holidays). As for the new idea, it will require luck and patience beyond anything in the game so far. If I succeed, it will add about 500 - 1.000 points to the score. I'll let you know if it works when I get to SBTC. It will be way into the future though.

Re: Rayman 3 Scores
Well, my reason is a very different one. However, I don't want to talk about the combos so far. I think there's at least 1.020 points I'm still missing in FC. That really makes me sick.
What do you mean by saying "two ways you can reach that score"? Actually, I know two combos that can take me past it, one of those is a horrible version of the matuvus in part 2 which I'm absolutely unhappy with. The other one is a quite big improvement for 480 points but I want to find a good matuvus combo in part 2 first.
I think I know the hint you mentioned and that hint was actually the reason why I started to think about the matuvus in part 2. I'm sure you can take it for 1250 points in combo and it drives me crazy that I can't find out how to do so. Probably I'll have to search the area again for places where that matuvus can be taken from...
I can understand why you don't want to replay SBTC. However, if I were you, I'd just play LOTLD for 121K. It's an easy improvement and the biggest one you can make by now. Anyway, it would also be a good idea to keep LOTLD as it's fun. I wish I had any fun levels left...
I'm coming to realize that this BOM thing really disheartened me. I'm stuck with part 2 of SBTC and there's always a combo that goes wrong. I didn't have any troubles with it during the last weeks. Probably I'm gonna switch to LS. I don't want to play FC right now as it's still the most fun level left for me.
Also, I have to say it's getting very boring when I am the only one playing right now...

Re: Rayman 3 Scores
It's hard to answer that question without getting into the combos. But you could have used either the fourth Matuvu for 1.500 combo points in part 3 or you could have used the 480 points improvement you mentioned (at least that's my guess). Did you get the fourth Matuvu for 1.500 combo points?DTUCC wrote:What do you mean by saying "two ways you can reach that score"? I shall look forward to LOTLD. It's one of my favourite levels. The combos are all fun to play and they all have the right level of difficulty. Not too easy and not too horrible either. I think this powersuit thing took us all by surprise. I wonder what other surprises the game has in store for us?
Did you try BOM? I mean, did you have 98.499 points when you killed Razoff with the HMF?
Actually I think SBTC part 2 is fun too. The combos are harder, but so much greater is the joy to make them work. I hate part 3 though.
I agree with you that it is hard to play alone. We must motivate Xenon and sfn to play again. And what about Mostwanted? Has he given up playing?
Anyway, I'll notify you as soon as I'm ready play again.

OK, I understand if you want to save LOTLD. Like you say, it's a fun level to play. It'll come in handy for sure if you play SBTC first.
Actually, I wanted to test the whole thing. For several hours I have been trying to get the counter to 98.499. One time I got it, but then Razoff hit me again. Then I decided to just test whether it works. When I killed him I had a bit more than 97K, but the counter didn't jump over 100K. So I believe there are no extra points in BOM
sfn and Xenon have lost there motivation. That LOTLD-thingy motivated sfn to get 121K in LOTLD but now again he seems to have stopped. I wonder why Xenon didn't already get the 121K. He wouldn't be that far away from the 850K milestone afterwards.
I didn't hear anything of mostwanted during the last days. Even Cut didn't say anything.
I'm in part 3 of SBTC, by the way. My score is something around 87.100.
Re: Rayman 3 Scores
I wonder why the powersuit thing works for a gem and not a boss. It seems illogical.
I would say that BOM would be one of my favourite levels as well had it not been for the horrible Hoodlum survival rate in part 3. I have to start and restart about an hour to get him alive, so I only get two or three attempts at the big combo every day. The height of frustration occurs when the big combo finally works and then the final jump for the green gem at the Boat Secret fails. Come to think of it, good thing the powersuit thing doesn't work in BOM
I'm sure Xenon will come around to play LOTLD at some point. Sfn has often taken some very long breaks from the game, but he always returns. I think he is disheartened by the prospect of playing SBTC, which is the level he can improve most. Too bad with Mostwanted. Great player, didn't he have around 840k? He could easily improve on that.

Re: Rayman 3 Scores
My problem is as following: I have six levels left to play. Two of them (LS and SBTC) I hate. One is way too frustrating for me (TBOM). The other three are TFC, DOTK and HH. All three would require lots of investigation to either find the new combos or discover the right technique. I neither have the time nor the patience for that right now as I'm very busy. I wish there was another thing in TLOTLD or CF or an improvement that wouldn't require lums glitches in HH or DOTK but there isn't so I have to settle with nothing.
BTW, I developed a new combo in TLOTLD. I'll try to make a video of it but I'm not sure when it will be ready.

Re: Rayman 3 Scores
I guess that's the way the game will be in the future. Finding new combos in various levels even though they won't increase the maximum scores. The quest for increased scores will be over in a foreseeable future. I have a few new combos on the shelf that I would like to realise and then call it a day. Then I will play the game for fun and like you look for new combos in the fun levels without thinking about overall scores. Should be fun to exchange ideas and combos without any strategic motivations at all.
So please post your video when ready.
By the way, what's your score in HH? If it's 109.109, then there's no reason to go through pain and agony to get 109.209.
