Re: Rayman Betas
Thanks.
That 32x magazine scan (if that's what it is) is kind of interesting. It shows a screenshot of a situation which doesn't appear in the game. I wonder if the 32x version was going to have a bunch of slightly redesigned levels like that...
Whatever happened to that R1 Jag poster that was sold on eBay? No scans anywhere?

Re: Rayman Betas
The winner was probably some guy that collects any game thing ever.
I wonder about that too, and the 3D0 version [lol who had one of those]. I definitely know that the 32X used the same sound chip as its older counterpart the Megadrive, so the music would sound completely different even from the Jaguar version. Not sure about the colour though. The only 32X games I've ever played were Doom and Knuckles Chaotix so I can hardly judge for myself.

Re: Rayman Betas
In case of graphics... it contained a 8-bit palette mode, I think, and 16-bit mode. I think, however, that sprites would be smaller.
But in case of sound... I wonder how would it work.

Re: Rayman Betas
3DO was a console that was way ahead of its time and failed in a similar manner to the Dreamcast, I believe.

Re: Rayman Betas
I know there was something called this way (and DC, compared to this, was a huge success - I'd better compare it to Jaguar), but Rayman for it?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!??!?!??!?!?!?!??!?!??!?

For all your educative needs.
As great a console as the Dreamcast was [apart from its internet feature which was shite], it wasn't that successful and just crashed and burned like the Saturn did. Why else did you think it was discontinued after a short time compared to say the PS1?

The PS1 is legendary. The number of excellent games on that machine is yet to be matched...

Still, though, there were many games of a high level of excellence!

Well, Saturn crashed earlier, I think. And you can't buy it on eBay so easy. DC wasn' a success sompared to PS1, but... it wasn't so bad.StaceyW wrote:For all your educative needs.

Re: Rayman Betas
DC had a larger number of autumn games that the PS1 in comparison to its total number of games. But the PS1 overall had more autumn games.
Re: Rayman Betas
They didn't use the same sound chip. The Mega Drive used a TI 7xxxx chip ( i don't recall the exact name ) while the 32X had a Stereo PCM chip. I wouldn't know if the 32X's Stereo PCM chip could do more then the Mega Drive's TI 7xxxx chip. I wasn't around back in those days.I definitely know that the 32X used the same sound chip as its older counterpart the Megadrive,
The Dreamcast failed mainly because it was to late. Sega wanted to recover from the damage the PS1 had done. And then the PlayStation 2 already came around. Sega wasn't prepared for the PS2 so they gave up. Although there we some great games on the Dreamcast. Rayman 2, Sonic Adventure 1 and 2...

Re: Rayman Betas
Where exactly can I download the Nova beta? I have searched for quite a while, but it doesn't seem to be anywhere.

They look awesome anyway. I guess they didn't even make it to the first beta version.Drolpiraat wrote:What are those things between Rayman and the Livingstone?
Re: Rayman Betas
From so many shows and news that surrounded the Dreamcast and its history though, I actually can't believe they discontinued it based on the success of the PS2 - especially when Nintendo would have its GameCube with even less capability than the DC later on.

Re: Rayman Betas
NEN.DES
PARCHEM.ETA
but i think you will not find them with the spritefinder......i used behaviour 235 and get them through changeing the hitpoints.
But most stuff you find with this methode is rextemly mashed up and will not stray if you release the right mouse button
(i found so also the book and some numebers in DIV.DES but it also dissapears directly)

Re: Rayman Betas
Do you mean you got to see them (even just for a split second) in Designer? It would be great to have a better quality screenshot of them. Is there a name associated with them, by the way?MasterHero wrote:Well, i found these creatures through some tricks in a jungle spritefile of Rayman Designer.
