Mr or Mister?
Do you think the R1 bosses should be referred to on the wiki as 'Mr' or 'Mister'?
The level names say 'Mr Sax's Hullaballoo', 'Mr Stone's Peaks', 'Mr Skops' Stalactites' and 'Mr Dark's Dare', but the manual is the only source which refers directly to the them, and it calls them 'Mister Dark', 'Mister Sax', etc. It is my belief that the manual uses the bosses' full (and correct) names, but the level names use abbreviated versions. I also think the word 'Mister' looks cool. What do you think?

Re: Mr or Mister?
I think you're all voting for "Mr" because you're too lazy to type out "Mister" and you want it kept short.

Serious ownage! BTW, I voted Mr and I have no intention of contributing to the wiki so this laziness theory is wrong too.Tobbe wrote:You are getting owned, spiral!

Re: Mr or Mister?
Mr and Mister are the same bloody thing! Mr is by far the most used in everyday life, so it should be used here too.

To be honest... who gives a shit?
As I said before we woulda put them all as "Mr." or whatev but because the wiki page goes all four oh four-ish we can't.

Their names have "Mister" in them and should not be abbreviated.

Re: Mr or Mister?
To be honest, I'd rather use "Mr." in the articles since "Mr" isn't even proper English and it just looks like horrible copy-editing. (Who's gonna notice if they put "Mr" over "Mr." in the games?) "Mr" and "Mr." are obviously the same thing (oh yes, "Mister" too)--I don't think we have to follow such a by-the-books formula instead of using good grammar and it's also helpful to people like me with OCPD to not be so tormented by it.StaceyW wrote:To be honest... who gives a shit?

Article titles, that's what redirect pages are for. Again, we don't have to be perfectly by-the-books and no one is gonna care because they're the same thing.

That's strange; I myself find periods in the middle of sentences (such as 'Mr.') to be quite irritating.foultzboyz wrote:it's also helpful to people like me with OCPD to not be so tormented by it.
Re: Mr or Mister?
I also find that "Mr." looks slightly odd when put in a sentence, but I don't really see any problems with 'Mr' or 'Mister'. 'Mr' is just a common abbreviation; it's not lexically incorrect. It's like disallowing contracted words... just totally unnecessary.
I've voted for 'Mr' purely because it's more familiar, but it really doesn't bother me too much.

Well, according to Wikipedia, both forms are correct (but is Wikipedia correct?foultzboyz wrote:To be honest, I'd rather use "Mr." in the articles since "Mr" isn't even proper English and it just looks like horrible copy-editing.

Re: Mr or Mister?
It my opinion, it doesn't matter. Mr. = Mister, just because they prefer calling them "Mister" doesn't mean "Mr" isn't the same thing.spiraldoor wrote:Uhh...eleven it would seemTobbe wrote:QFTStaceyW wrote:To be honest... who gives a crap?

The word 'English' starts with a capital 'E'. Now who's welcoming who to the English language?Tehrunescape455 wrote:Welcome to the english language.spiraldoor wrote:That's strange; I myself find periods in the middle of sentences (such as 'Mr.') to be quite irritating.
