I've just updated my scores for First Ruins, Dark Sewer and Zenith Harbour, placing me in the lead for all three levels. :)

What's interesting is I still made several slip-ups in the levels, so my actual records, in theory, are minus about a second to those listed on the first page. :)

I always make some minor slip-ups though. :P Also lately in First Ruins some glitch seems to be blocking me from moving properly in some places, as if there's some sort of invisible wall...

By the way Xenon, how do you do electric final? It's pretty much the only level I can't get to all the places I want to, and I think I could improve my time if I could manage them.

Electric Final is quite a tough one and I've never been able to perfect it either. When I made the time I posted I managed to stay on the upper level when on the huge slope until the end, but I fell down then and took the lower path. If I could have taken one of the upper routes I'm sure I could have made a second or two. I can do the rest of the track almost faultlessly.

Yeah the upper slide bit is what gets me. Also, after the start, when you use the springs to go up a bit, the part with the boosts and stampy things everywhere confuses me a little. Where do you go there? I used to try and get the boosts under the stamoy things but have recently taken to the middle path, which is hard to pull of without crashing and slowing down...

I wonder if taking the purple lums there is faster, but it's hard to tell.

The part with the platform mechanisms hitting the ground, to the end of those upper routes after the huge slope has always been the worst part of Electric final for me.

I tend to use the far right boosters actually because there's few obstacles there. But now thinking about it it may be quicker to use the upper level. You'd obviously have to do at least one lap first in order to get up there though.

I find the upper way is usually the most efficient. The end of dark sewer is an obvious exception though I think since some glitch or something causes you to stop contantly...

Haha, beat Xenon once again in Dark Sewer and Zenith Harbour. Just gotta shave .1 seconds off my FR score now...
Hey guys, I'm getting sick of those three levels, could you try beating my scores in something else now? :P
EDIT: Gotcha Xenny. :bad:

Also, I added my brother's scores. These aren't his best, but they're the current records on his new profile. I warn you, he can do much better; he can almost beat me in most levels.

One more thing, I'm probably going to write up a little walkthrough for the game so people who aren't so good can se how I do it. Obviously, if anyone can see areas where it can be improved I'll change it. Thoughts?

EDIT: Wow, the moderator logs must be full of me editing in this topic...
Anyway, should this be Stickied? It might attract more attention to the topic. I migth also put a link (perhaps an image too) in my sig.

EVEN MORE EDIT?!: Ok, my sig is now a banner and link.

I'm editing the banner to the top of the first post now. If you object, I'll ctake it off. If you guys want to use the banner the img code is:

Code: Select all

If you want to make it a link, then the appropriate code is:

Code: Select all

There's also a bigger one, but depending on the resolution of the viewers screen, it won't fit (by which it doesn't fit on my screen. But if you're interested:

So yeah, that's about it.

Hey that banner is really good, HC! I noticed it in Xenon's sig, and I got confused at first thinking he had double posted several times on this topic since you both have it.

I'm getting quite behind in the scores, I'm going to try to play tonight. :)

EDIT:

I think this'll be good, like how the R3 scores topic is laid out with Mand's walkthroughs at first... although regularily updated.
Anyway, should this be Stickied? It might attract more attention to the topic.
I'm not too sure myself.

Also, what's with deleating the Battle section? But I suppose it wasn't very clear about how to submit "scores" for that...

I've just updated my scores in Dark Sewer and Zenith Harbour. I'm still a fraction of a second behind Crap in Dark Sewer because I ran out of patience, but I'm ahead of him again in Zenith Harbour. :)

And I'm not sure if this thread is worthy of being a sticky... it's very small at the moment and there are only three members making contributions. Maybe when it becomes huge and more people participate we could consider this.

Anyway, observe...

You could always compete with these.

Yeah, that seems a good way of competing battle scores..
Just knocked a few seconds off some of my scores, although I only managed to get to the top in Dawn Sand. ^^

EDIT: Who's race score is that is Dawn sand without a name?

That's probably Jim. I must've forgot to add his name.

I don't remember doing that...

Also Xenon, didn't I just tell you specifically not to do Zenith Harbour? :pascontent:
That's a good score too... shit...

Awesome, I found out some new nifty tricks in Zenith Harbour and Dawn Sand putting me back on top. 8)
Also Acarr, I'm pretty sure the first post is supposed to say "is optional" not "is not optional" because what is written now means that submitting evidence is compulsory, but seeing as none of us have done so I'm pretty sure this isn't the case.

I'd be willing to trade hints in Zenith Harbour as I feel I've found a nice "shortcut" too. Unless of course we're both referring to the same trick, haha.

Dawn Sand is proving to be tough for me too. I think I'm using the wrong initiative at the beginning.

At the beginning I go straight to the very end trampoline and take the purple lums.

I was trying to say that you don't have to prove you got a score, but to be sure that you can.

EDIT: HC why did you lock your Rayman M walkthrough? :P But then wouldn't it just slowly go down the page and be forgotten?

That's how I played it too. Nevermind, I replayed Dawn Sand today and I think the large space with loads of purple Lums is the area I'm failing. My new record is 00.48.983, which is looking a lot more like yours and HC's. :P

I think he'll post more, then open it up when he's finished.
