I have to post my agreement, even if it is spam. (Is it?)iHeckler9 wrote:Since we're all celebrating Christmas here (and don't lie, your names have gone down on the advent calendar so I know) we should celebrate Christianity, unless there are others here who think otherwise.
Re: Religion - your views
I'm not. I'm celebrating Yule, which is what Christmas used to be called before the Christians hi-jacked the celebration of the solstice and claimed it as their own. It's almost exactly the same as the Christian celebration, but without all the angels.iHeckler9 wrote: It should be called 'PChristianity' or something. I vote we call the PC religion 'Hunchmanology' og 'Piratology'.

Re: Religion - your views
-ology is the study of something. Maybe Hunchmanism or Piratism.
Re: Religion - your views
But in religion, any word can be given any meaning, so that doesn't really matter! I still vote for 'Hunchmanology' or 'Pirateology' because it parodies the crazy religion Scientology (which is crazy even by religious standards!
).
Re: Religion - your views
I don't celebrate Christmas either - I celebrate the New Year!Tobbe wrote:I'm not. Everyone does in Russia. Christmas is celebrated by the religious people here only - and it's celebrated on 7th January for some idiotic reason.

Wikipedia:
This is because of their use of the traditional Julian Calendar, under which December 25 falls on January 7 as measured by the standard Gregorian Calendar.

Re: Religion - your views
It's ironic though, on the Gregorian Calendar, 7th is the end of Christmas.
Re: Religion - your views
Pastafarianism is a religion based around pirates, so Piratism is off the list.
Re: Religion - your views
Moreover, in Russia we celebrate the "Old-Style New Years day" on 14th January. Just another reason to get drunk you see.

I deleted Hoodie's post as it was completely unneccesary and didn't contribute anything to the discussion. I, and other mods, have told you before, Hoodie: Don't post just for the sake of posting. Only post if you can contribute to the discussion.
If 'pirateology' is off the list of possible names, I suggest 'Communism'.
Oh, wait...

Re: Religion - your views
That made my day. Communism...HA!
Hunchism is a bit too defining. You don't have Godianity or Mohammedslam. In fact, my religion, Pastafarianism and Buddhism are the only ones where the God is in the title..

Re: Religion - your views
Mohammed isn't the Islam God. Islam God = Jewish God = Christian God
Re: Religion - your views
Well you get my point. It isn't called 'Vishnudity' now is it?
That looks rude...

Re: Religion - your views
Pastafarianism is a joke religion, and its god is called 'Flying Spaghetti Monster'. And Buddha is not a god. Buddhism is a religion without a god, kinda like a prison without walls.iHeckler9 wrote:Pastafarianism and Buddhism are the only ones where the God is in the title..
And Christianity has its god in its name, because Jesus and Yahweh are apparently the same person, even though anyone who has read the New Testament would disagree.
Vishnu isn't the supreme god of Hinduism either. Brahman is.
