Rayman 1 PSX on iPod Touch 2G
Heh, I got Rayman 1 for PSX on my iPod Touch and it worked well at the beginning. It showed the blue text, I selected my language, then it just stays on the UbiSoft logo and doesn't move on.
Pretty dim chances, but has anyone done this before and got it to work properly? FYI This ISO worked on the computer flawlessly; I'm using PSX4all emulator for the iPhone/iPod Touch; I have the BIOS set up correctly; I've set permissions from 0644 to 0755.

Hm strange, I'll check the ISO.PluMGMK wrote:It does the same to me on PCSX.
Or maybe it could be because it said it was recommended for a 3GS which is like 2.25 times faster than the 2G.

The ISO isn't the problem, for me anyway. I used a real disc, then I downloaded an ISO to check.RayFan9876 wrote:Hm strange, I'll check the ISO.PluMGMK wrote:It does the same to me on PCSX.

There may be something wrong with the emulator's settings. Go to the sound settings, and see if there are any options relating to CDDA sound or subchannel data. If there are, they may need to be changed.

YOu can't really configure an ipod/iphone emulator. And would it have anything to do with the sound?spiraldoor wrote:There may be something wrong with the emulator's settings. Rayman 1 PSX doesn't work without CDDA. Learned that on the PSP - I was one of the group that figured out how to get CDDA working with popstation on PSPs running DA's custom firmware. So CDDA would be the first think I'd check.

Re: Rayman 1 PSX on iPod Touch 2G
Most emulators are hugely dependent on configuration, so the lack of any on the iPhone sounds... pretty bad. Though I suppose the hardware is fixed and standardised, unlike a PC, so perhaps configuration isn't so necessary...RayFan9876 wrote:YOu can't really configure an ipod/iphone emulator. Anyway, R1 PS1 freezing on the Ubi Soft screen while being emulated is pretty common, as that's the first point at which the game tries to access the CDDA sound/read the subchannel data, something which most PS1 games don't do and therefore emulators often don't provide solutions for.
Perhaps a later release of the emulator will take care of this problem. You may wish to contact the authors about it.

Doesn't help me. I made sure CDDA was on in my PCSX because I bought the game for music.

Why would anyone use PCSX when they could use ePSXe instead? It boggles the mind.

Re: Rayman 1 PSX on iPod Touch 2G
Simple: I don't want to illegally download a BIOS.

Why not? Just because it's illegal?

Re: Rayman 1 PSX on iPod Touch 2G
Are you aware that it is perfectly legal to extract the BIOS from a PS1 if you own it yourself? Seriously now, does it make a difference how you obtain it? To you? To Sony? To anyone at all? What are you worried about?
Re: Rayman 1 PSX on iPod Touch 2G
Yes it's perfectly legal, as long as you don't sell, upload or give it to a friend.

I think this has drifted.
ePSXe is not an iPhone PSX emulator. I'm using PSX4all. And the ISO works fine on ePSXe.

My problem appears to have thrown a spanner in the works.
Anyway, are there any other emulators for the iPhone you could try?
