As for me, I'll go to college next year, stating learning computer science (if I success in that :/). I see myself reverse enginnering Rayman 2 for my thesis haha ; We can say it's the goal of my life :P
If you want to become good at reverse engineering, you should make sure your computer science course covers Assembly language programming. It's less hard to convert machine code into assembly language then it is to convert machine code into a high level language.

And you should also be aware that reverse engineering is extremely hard. In fact, i hope for us that Rayman 2 does not use some kind of protection software that makes decompilation impossible. Because if it does, it's just nearly impossible to reverse engineer the engine. I also don't know if a decompiler can re-generate API specific code for high level languages ( i think commercial ones do, but i don't know if free ones like Boomerang can get this job done ), but don't worry, the Assembly API specific code can be recovered.

What have you ripped ? The textures or the models ?

Anyway, you can just upload your files to something called an "upload service", an example of these would be mediafire.com, and there are plenty of others.

Hi everybody I'm Jack the swindler!
I was wanted to know if the project ULR or REL were cleared and if no if i could help someone trying to find Rayman 1 code source. I ever have all the music at the mp3 format and I think that the textures coud be done to.

The ULR/REL project is ongoing, and it will probably never be 'completed'. We don't have the source code for any of the games, but we have managed to rip quite a few textures.

It would be nice if they released the source to Rayman 1, especially since it's virtually nothing like the majority of Rayman games since then. I wouldn't hold my breath on it, though. Some companies are better than others about releasing the source for old games.

Another game I'd love to see the source for one day would be the original Tomb Raider.

This has not even started yet i think, if we want this project to be alive, Droolie/Hunch/Xenon should PM people to make things, if they want.

We should look if we can find a community that hacks/mods/decompiles games for fun and let them do the job, as we have little experience.

Yes, let’s just find a random hacking group on the internet. I’m sure they’ll be delighted to do all the hard work on the Rayman games for us, free of charge.

Bumping this, because I really want to make a leap forward :D
with Droolie we've been on Rayman 3 recently, and we should REALLY (I'm saying REALLY) decode textures of R3 Beta, since it's does not uses same textures compression of R3 Final.
There will be many many beta icons and textures :o
