LOL that game was to Rayman like Sonic 3D was to Sonic. Only that Sonic 3D had cool music. 8) Didn't it run on the same engine as some Spyro game on the GBA?

Well whatever I don't think was that great. It had some pretty sucky controls even for isometric and it could have done with much more varied music [it's fecking Rayman 2 mixes over again most of the time.] Would be nice if my keyboard also didn't bugger up when I play it in VBA otherwise I'd have some wiki articles done on the levels by now.

You mean Spyro: Season of Flame? I have that somewhere, not a bad game, it played pretty similarly to RHR, what with the isometric view and all, so could easily have been the same engine.

Possibly, since back then I didn't pay as much attention to storylines in games as I do now...but I would think I'd remember that Reflux icon.
Me too.

Hoodlums Revenge was okay... nothing that exciting though. I was a bit disappointed. Globox's parts were quite interesting tho.

I have checked and I am now certain that the dialogue does not show when the level is being replayed.

Do you think it's a glitch or intentional?

Intentional. Same way the cutscenes don't play when you replay levels in Rayman 2.

That must be it then.

Yeesh, it wasn't that bad. It had some interesting gameplay mechanics such as the boat, not to mention it was the first platformer in which you could play as Globox (although RM had platforming levels). It's more like Rayman's Sonic Heroes, in terms of quality at least. And I found the main theme to be even catchier than R2's theme, albeit not as good overall.

Um I didn't say Sonic 3D was bad, I was just comparing their graphics mainly, you know the whole LOL ISOMETRIC thing.

I generally don't like isometric games. And the platforming genre is probably the one that's least compatible with such a camera angle.

I actually liked this Spin-Off game, a nice ammount of levels and the average time it takes to complete them. But there were things that were a bit more negative, like the precision of the controls (ex. there were jumps that were hard to do, because sometimes I couldn't land exactly where I wanted) and the bosses. The musics could be more also.

Haha, the Firemonster was absolutely pathetic. You don't even need the powerup; hit him twice with a regular charged-up fist and he crumbles.

I agree. Although the game was fun, I have to admit the graphics were pretty crappy.
STILL they did use a lot of the original R2 music (and other remixes) which was my favorite soundtrack, so I was happy enough with it :D

Hm... I played it on emulator, and it wasn't so bad... But Andre probably died in the ending, it made me and Globox sad pandas. :(

Well, now that the GBA is officially dead, we will never get English versions of the first three Starfy games! (Unless they remake them.... hmm...)

And people from GAME wanted me to give the original DS away, how pathetic they had no respect with Retro Gamers.
At least I bought after from a guy a used GBA SP. But I still have my beloved original DS.

I still need to try and find a copy of Hoodlum's Revenge. I loved it when I played the rom, and it's the only RAYMAN (i.e. no Rabbids) Nintendo handheld game that I don't have. It's even harder to find than Rayman 2 GBC! (yes, I actually have that)

I'll check eBay or a few local retro game stores, cause I really want it! SO BAD!

Hmmm... I hope my SP has a VERY VERY long life, then. SIX YEARS and still kickin', and I don't want it to go!
