Re: Holy Mafia - Day 4

Post by Mafia Host »

The end is near for the Britons : Sir Pineapple took refuge in the Castle of Camelot, with the remaining Knights of the Round Table... But only one of his Knights survived the invasion : Sir Diplodocus. As for Sir Sierra... it was already too late for him.
There was still one glimpse of hope for those two : maybe God will help them, and crush the French Invaders with His Divine Wrath...

Meanwhile, Sir Sierra had been captured, and he is going to be lynched by the Invaders, who now almost rule the country.
Pineapple and Diplodocus can't do anything but watch their companion as a cow falls from the sky...

Image

And crushes Sierra...

Image

Sir Sierra is no more.

Sierra

You are the aptly named Sir Not-Appearing-In-This-Game.

You are a Knight of the Round Table, but, in fact, no one has ever seen your face : no one even knows who you are. Thereby, any attempt to kill you during the night will fail, as the murderer won't be able to find you. However, you can be lynched at day.

You win if the French Invaders are eliminated.
Soon, Sultan, Hallelujah, Gregorio and Aviator, followed by thousands or soldiers, arrive to Camelot, where a great party is going on.

Image

After slaughtering every last one of these stupid dancing Knights, they finally capture the two remaining Britons. The only thing that awaits them is death.
For Diplodocus, they chose dismemberment...

Image
Diplodocus

Your are Sir Lancelot the Brave.

You are a knight of the Round Table, a good man, but you have sometimes been too violent in the past, and have killed too many innocents. Thus, you've decided to wield your sword only to protect others - be it children, women, or your fellow comrades of the Round Table. Your quest is to seek the Holy Grail, but for now, you have to defeat the French Invaders in order to protect your country.

At night you may use your strength to protect another player. To do this, send me a PM entitled "Night X - Protect ". If somebody attempts to kill that user during the night you will use your skills to save them. Unfortunately, you can not protect yourself.

You win if the French Invaders are eliminated.
And for Pineapple... he was eaten alive by starving swallows.

Image
Pineapple

You are Arthur, son of Uther Pendragon, from the castle of Camelot. King of the Britons, defeater of the Saxons, Sovereign of all England.

God himself entrusted you to seek and find the Holy Grail, which you have been looking for your whole life. Though you are brave and strong, you have been unable to fulfill this sacred task, but you rule your kingdom with kindness and wisdom, living in the castle of Camelot. However, you bear a strong hatred towards French people, whose rudeness has no equal : you will do whatever you can to kill the invaders.

At night, you may ask God to help you. Your prayers will always be heard ; God will use his powers to protect another player from any night actions but those causing death. To do this, send me a PM entitled "Night X - Pray for ".

If you do not wish to do anything at night, send me a PM entitled "Night X - Idling".

You win if the French Invaders are eliminated.

Did you all enjoy the game ? :) What didn't you like ?
There were 4 mafiosos and 8 villagers, so I've limited the Con Artist's powers. I think that the balance was ok, the villagers would have been able to win if they had made a proper alliance, but they were fooled.
The HOFs are coming in, er, like, two hours. :P

Here's the list of players and their Role PMs :

The French Invaders

Holy Crap - Gregorio
You are the French Taunter.

You are the leader of the French troops invading Britain : in fact, you've been in the country for years, though no one knew what you were doing there. You hate English people more than anything and wish to enslave them.

Your insults are so sharp and outrageous that no one can resist you.

At night, you may use your talents to persuade another user to do your bidding. Send me a PM entitled "Night X - Taunt User". In the body of the PM, you have a number of options.
- Write whatever you want in "inverted commas". The user will then have to say whatever you typed in the Mafia thread.
This ability can only be used three times throughout the entire game.
- Write "Lynch " in bold font. The player will be forced to vote for whoever you told them to in the next Day's Lynch.
This ability can only be used once throughout the entire game.
- Write "Silence" In Italic font. The user will be silenced, meaning they can not speak in the Mafia thread, vote for Lynches, or discuss the game with anyone in any form, etc.
- Write "Redirect to ". If that player uses a Night Action, they will target whoever you told them to instead of their intended target. You can not redirect a “Kill-PM”.
If the user does not comply, they will be godkilled and removed from the game.

If you do not wish to do anything at night, send me a PM entitled "Night X - Idling".

Note : I have limited your powers because there are four mafiosos.
Humch - Aviator
Mafia Host wrote:You are Dennis.

You are a peasant who believes in democracy and loathes Arthur, who bullied you. You want the Monarchy to fall, and joined the French Invaders to overthrow the Knights of the Round Table. However, you are a peasant : no one would ever doubt you. That is why you chose to act as a mole.

If somebody tries to inspect you, they will receive the following fake Role PM :
You are Dennis.

You are a mere peasant who loves his country, and wants the invasion to stop. If the Britons win, you wish to leave peacefully in your autonomous collective.
For now, all you care about is your own life, and the French Invasion has put it in danger. You try to stay silent and hide away from everybody else.

You do not have any special Night Actions. However, because of your anonymity, you cannot be lynched at day.
Serza - Hallelujah
Mafia Host wrote:You are the Keeper of the Bridge of Death, also known as "the man from scene 24".

You ask each traveller three questions, and he who answers the three questions may cross in safety. But if the travellers get a question wrong, they will be cast into the Gorge of Eternal Peril. You are an ennemy of Arthur, who tricked you, and you do not want him to find the Holy Grail. Thus, you joined the French Invaders.

At night, you can block another player's Night Action. Send me a PM entitled "Night X - Question " and, unless something interrupts you, your target's Night Action will be disrupted, because he will be busy answering your questions.
Jacky - Sultan
Mafia Host wrote:You are the Møøse.

You have absolutely no idea what you're doing here : anyway, you have been kicked out of the movie in 1975, and you bear a strong hatred towards those English fags who sacked you and your trainer, Yutte Hermsgervørdenbrøtibørda.
Now you intend to take your revenge ; thus, you joined the French Invaders.

You don't have any particular Night Action, for you are absolutely useless (your trainer was sacked before he could train you). That way, it is recommended that you carry out the kills for the French Invaders.
The Britons

Xenon - Pineapple

You do not have any particular Night Actions, but you are a master of eloquence : thus, your vote counts as two when voting for lynches.

You win if the French Invaders are eliminated.

As you are just a stupid bird, you don't really understand what's going on, but you know that you are on Arthur's side, because he has a keen interest in swallows.

While in the air, you can see everything below you : you use this ability to spy.

At night, you may use your skills to spy another player. To do this, send me a PM entitled "Night X - Spy ". Unless something comes in your way, you will learn what that user has done during the night.

My role was broken I think. The con-artist style roles need to be limited heavily in future games. Perhaps it would be best to split the role into three or four separate roles (ie Silencer, Redirector, Persuader (speech and Lynch target)).

The game was absolutely great, the roles were simple but still gave the game an excellent strategic dimension, and of course I laughed at every single post from the host xD Luckily, we have not really suffered from inactivity, yet I regret the lack of a proper villagers' alliance.

In any case, congratulations to DesLife and thank you all for playing! I can't wait for the Hall of Fail :P

I know you've been waiting for it...

The Hall of Fame

BRIDGEKEEPER : What is your favorite color?
LAUNCELOT : Blue.
BRIDGEKEEPER : Right. Off you go.
LAUNCELOT : Oh, thank you. Thank you very much.

1. Aviator (Humch)
He fooled almost everyone, and easily got rid of the dangerous players. Only two players didn't trust him. He was the most active player during the entire game, which he was the center of.

2. Gregorio (Crap)
He used is ability nicely, even though it didn't always work, and remained silent.

3. Monopoly (Tobbe)
He didn't fall for Aviator's trap, but he found only one ally : Pineapple (Xenon). He was a bit unlucky with his ability (inspected Hamlet (Plum) on Night 1, and he was blocked on Night 2 when he inspected Sultan (Jacky)). Had he been luckier, he could have done something more useful - if he had got Sultan's role PM, it would have turned the tables.

The Hall of Fail

BRIDGEKEEPER : What is your favorite color?
GALAHAD : Blue. No yel-- auuuuuuuugh!
BRIDGEKEEPER : Hee hee heh.

5. Diplodocus (MrBadGuy)
He hasn't contacted anyone but Aviator and protected him.

4. Sierra (Dango)
His power was perfect to take the leadership of an alliance, yet he remained silent (but his pink writing was great) and didn't contact anyone.

3. A Capella (Quickfist)
She knew that Sultan was the French killer, but she only told Aviator, when she could have managed to get him lynched, and got killed during the night, wasting this important information.

2. Vicarious (Mat)
He blindly followed Aviator's instructions, killed Monopoly (aka the most important Briton), and thus ended the game. He led the Britons to their utter defeat. He wasted his important role by trusting a single player.

1. Ping Pong (Rsandee)
He broke the rules and got banned from all future games - he proved himself the worst player we've ever seen. Congrats !

Now, what about the next game ? I don't think it would take place before September... I'd be glad to host it, unless someone comes with a great theme and wants to host it. :) Waiting for your ideas.
