Re: Rayman Origins
exactly. alot of times with ports it doesnt look nice (rayman 1 on the GBA) OR the controls are REALLY wonky or blocky making it hard to move (rayman DS, we didnt have a joystick like on the consoles but the D-pad is hard. )spiraldoor wrote:A port that’s actually good would be nice.Sabertooth1000000000 wrote:Why do you want more R1 ports? I think they call him a eggplant because of his purple shirt.

Re: Rayman Origins
Wait, Nicolas Choukroun said that Ancel was working hard on "a sequel to Rayman". But what we're going to get is a prequel to Rayman. So I guess he was wrong after all.
Re: Rayman Origins
OR, Michel is really working on a Rayman 4 in secret while RO gives them more time to finish it.
Naw...probably not.

Re: Rayman Origins
In fact, Ubi can't affirm work on Rayman 4, but Acel says (himself) a new Rayman 3D go back after Rayman Origins. Correct me please
Re: Rayman Origins
I did read that somewhere. He didn't want to do 3D games anymore, but he WOULD make another 3D Rayman game. I only wonder if this is true..
Re: Rayman Origins
I think we'll have to wait some years before we'll get a 3D Rayman 4. Since in the video Drolpiraat posted if I'm not mistaken Ancel says that he's going to make Beyond Good & Evil 2 ( in 3D! Only with a small team to maximize the creativity ), and take his time to make it perfect. And we've already seen a teaser trailer of Beyond Good & Evil 2 ( and none of the Rayman 4 he'll be working on ).
About him not wanting to make no 3D games any more: I don't know what to think about that, since he makes contradicting statements in the video. He doesn't want to make 3D games any more, but he will make supposedly at least two more.

Of course, Ancel, isn't à superman

Probably, cause Ancel hismself says that in the conference, you can watch the video (in fench).Spanex wrote: did read that somewhere. He didn't want to do 3D games anymore, but he WOULD make another 3D Rayman game. I only wonder if this is true..

Re: Rayman Origins
To be honest, to get Rayman 4 after this would be damn unfair to the BG&E crowd.
They've been waiting way too long, man - and that game was classic. I'd love to see a Rayman with that kind of non-linearity (in that it's straightforward and bordered, but not so much that you get bored out of your wits.)
Not gonna happen, though.
Re: Rayman Origins
In many case, Rayman Origins's first episod back at the end of this year, the next episod is for 2011. Maybe, and I hope BG&E back this year too

I fear BGE won't be out for a loooooooooong time yet.
Ah well, we'll have RO to keep us happy.

Re: Rayman Origins
BG&E2 is going to have multiple endings. I wonder how that will affect BG&E3? It was planned as a trilogy from the beginning.

Re: Rayman Origins
I expect all the endings will have some kind of main 'thing'. Like, there's some explosion
. No matter what.
Or maybe Ancel's giving up on the trilogy thing, to keep Ubi happy?
I certainly hope not.

Re: Rayman Origins
Hmm...
Re: Rayman Origins
I agree with this. I wouldn't mind waiting some more years for Rayamn 4 if it would mean the Beyond Good & Evil fans would get Beyond Good & Evil 2. They want a new game as desperately as we do, have been waiting as long as we have, and only have ONE game to play, while we have tons of Rayman games to play.To be honest, to get Rayman 4 after this would be damn unfair to the BG&E crowd. They've been waiting way too long, man -

A bit more empathy for the others please.Drolpiraat wrote:Haha, wow. I'm lucky for once! XBLA is first, which means I'll be one of the first on this forum to play it.
And wow, Ubi-art is going open-source. That... that is amazing. I want it. NOW. More than Rayman Origins itself actually.
On a different note...
A PC version would be really neat, loyal to the roots, despite what kind of hardware does anybody have.
On another differnet note...
I was thinking about the comments, some say are dissapointed it's not 3D and I saw some comments mentioning not familiar with the first game. An interesting fact to think about. So I guess this means there is a different, sort of, let's call it generation who are more fond of the sequel, of R1. I'm happy to see this and I'm fine with. But it's just a bit saddening that turning to 2d from 3d means a step back for some. Yeah I'm fine with technical improvement. But seriously calling this as a step back is just hitting me.
I just don't feel it right that games are much about entertainment, sure, it's fine it makes people feeling good, but I'm feeling that all kinds of media are more and more forgetfull about what kind of power do they have and using this only for profit. Movie theatres are full of extraordinary looking excitement (or any kind of feelings) filled films, games also are kinda like this, but how fast they are coming, they are going. It's sad that there are no real content in nowadays things, everything is about to amaze people with coolnes, no learning from these, and I'm not talking about childish learning, like school programs or such, I'm talking about the thing when art is about showing interesting, and not well known things about life's methods, not philosophically just regular stuff, even with fiction.
People are complaining about the new things, that tey are not as good as old days stuffs, movies, music, games, etc. There's a simple reaso for this, old stuff where new then, they was the first of their kind therefore they showed something new, something that we didn't se so we didn't learn about, but for now they are just over and over again repeated cliches, with no new content added to them, they are about entertainment and their makers are not artists anymore but entertainers. The diifference is that the first wants to give it's knowledge to the others via it's art, the second wants to make feel you good, not interested about knowledge just the feelings and the profit, sure they earn this for their efforts. But I think it's wasting our time, sure time has to pass, and it's the easiest way to spend it with entertainment, but I think it would be better if we would spend that time learning and improving ourselves with things that are helping us doing this to work as a well human being and building up a community and by that a great society this way. How does this come to the 2D-3D question, you may ask.
Nowadays work is full of fiction, games, movies, series, comics, even music with it's fake, built up cathing the fame, having a great party style, full of fiction no content. Everybody is speding their time building up logical methods in these fictive worlds, how would work this how would go that, why this is this way, writing fan fictions and such, wow this looks cool, nice music choice, I think that shouldn't go this way. etc. Even the internet is a huge illusion, and I'm a bit dissapointed about myself for spendig that muc time on it, but there are very huge advantages for me to do. Not like other fictions, they are just timewasters, if they don't have a kind of story, method, message, that it carries and worth to tell. But nowadays, people are not about that, they are about details.
To be honest sometimes I really do hate 3D games, because they are 3D, it's basically a really soulles form of expression, poligons put together, making more and more realistic things. Sure ther are different styles and forms, but it's not as free as a good 2D drawn art, when the artist could make whatewer it wants with it's own ways to express with its bare hands doing simple lines. It's just unbeatable.
I felt I had to express that. And to be honest I won't care about any arguements if any would head up against my toughts. I'm not for argument this is not something, that I feel worthy to argue about. You understand me and agree, or not, and deny.
That's all, I welcome the first group, I can't do a thing with the second besides acceptin them and their thinking.
I still think 2D owns.
Re: Rayman Origins
This is exactly what I was hoping for... a look into Rayman's creation.
I have to say, though, it will be interesting to discover how his personality matured to the one he has in all the other games. I'd like to see how it ties into the rest of the series, too!
Unfortunately, by the looks of things, I DON'T HAVE THE RIGHT CONSOLE TO GET IT!
So is it confirmed that the nymph who creates Rayman in the Primordial Forest is Betilla, or is that still just speculation?
(...man, have I missed a lot in 6 months. I really need to log in more often.
)
