Re: Lore thread
The Guardians could have been designed so that their heads were the Masks. That would have made them much more distinctive than they were in the game.
Perhaps I’ll make a diagram so that everyone can understand me.

Re: Lore thread
Aaah, I see what you're saying. Sorry.
True, would've been much better. Axel with THAT face would be hilarious. Perhaps it was a memory issue that caused at least two of them to be palette-swaps? The battles themselves are relatively memorable, so the devs might've done an Ubi on that...

Re: Lore thread
‘Ubisoft’ is pronounced ‘you-bee-soft’, you know. Not ‘oo-bee-soft’, as your use of the word ‘an’ rather than ‘a’ implies that you think.Jewish Candy wrote:The battles themselves are relatively memorable, so the devs might've done an Ubi on that...
I will make the diagram, regardless of whether or not it is needed. It will look cool.

Oh? I always said 'OO-bee'. Well, call it SW sensibilities.
The diagram will indeed look cool. Your stuff always is

Re: Lore thread
This is strictly ‘proof-of-concept’, of course. It would look much less stupid in-game. And the images I had to work with weren’t very good at all.

Re: Lore thread
Axel is hilarious. "I SO HAPPEEEEEEEEE..."
Umber and Foutch look the part, totally - can't say the same for happy-slappable Grolem though. Nice mashes, Spiral-senpai!

Re: Lore thread
Foutch's head looks like an ancient burned bear or something. (yh the 3rd mask)

Re: Lore thread
Razorbeard’s lackey.

The Rayman Fanpage calls him Creolischer Pirat. The Rayman Psychopath says that his name is Creole (and that the red Henchman 800 is named Red Rum, and the Gorilla Pirate is named the Gorilla Pirate). I’m not sure what Creole or Creolischer mean, but I assume they’re French. It would be very nice to finally have an official name or to find some way of confirming whether these names come from some official source.

Re: Lore thread
Grolem 13 with the 4th mask gave me a laugh attack.
I also heard something like that about Razorbeard's lackey. I heard somewhere he was called Lunette, not sure if it was on Rayman-Fanpage or in other place.

Re: Lore thread
The French section of Rayman Fanpage calls him Pirate Lunette, which, according to Google Translate, means ‘Pirate Telescope’.

Re: Lore thread
Lunette also means "Glasses", in French vocabulary.

Re: Lore thread
That makes sense, looking at his eyes. He's the 'Smee' of the Buccaneer!
Re: Lore thread
Due to that information from the Rayman-Fanpage I usually call him Lunette... Now if it's a real name that's unknown. So I'll stay with "Razorbeard's Lackey".

Re: Lore thread
The sound files I ripped also said Lunette I thought.
Re: Lore thread
Then does it means it's a probable name for him?

Re: Lore thread
I guess so...
Lunette sounds funny
Also: remember the picture of him luring with a telescope? Lunette means telescope. Also: he seems to watch where Rayman is at the moment and tell it to razorbeard. I can't find it right now but it's somewhere on the net.
EDIT: wait, it's razorbeard holding the telescope

Re: Lore thread
I don't know still if we could put that on the trivia section about Razorbeard's Lackey.
Speaking about Razorbeard, I'm recording the videos of R3 GBA's gameplay and on the cutscenes from the beggining it's seen Razorbeard with the Henchmen 800 on the underground place of the section where we battle Razoff with the wrecking ball. Are they really hidden in there or it's just a coicidencial sceneary?

Re: Lore thread
It's possible it's a Robo Pirate hideout... although they could be squatters.
More likely though the Ubi team decided to reuse an inconspicuous 'underground' area as a background.
