The Dreamcast version is the best hands-down, but I like the PS1 version because I grew up with it and it gave us a window into the beta R2.

I love the additional cutscenes in the PSX version, and the INTRO IN THE DC VERSION!!! AWESOME!!! But I think I like RR best. My copy certainly played better than my DC copy, and I actually quite liked the hub. :)

While all the stuff above is true, much like Saber grew up with the PSone version, I grew up with the PC version, so it holds certain nostalgia for me.

For me, the PC version is definitely the best. It has the Hall of Doors, unlike the DC and PS2 versions, and it has better quality than the N64 version and the other ports.
Also, I grew up with it. :P

I grew up on both the N64 and PC versions.

But I voted for Rayman Revolution because I'm a graphics god. :)

Will it ever be possible to create mods for the PC version?

IMO:
Dreamcast > N64 > PS2 >>> PS1

Grew up playing the N64 version.
Never played the PC version.

For example, the whole deal with Ninjaws (Razorbeard talking to Ninjaws, Colossus warning Rayman about Ninjaws) and also before the battles with the Guardians ("He's COMPLETELY CRAZY!!!" with a half-British accent? Genius.)

One thing I disliked about the PS1 version was that they totally changed Jano's personality. Normally, when you pick the Elixir of Life, he commends you by saying you made the right choice, implying that he is impressed with Rayman's character and is on your side. In the PS1 version, you automatically take the Elixir, and Jano calls you foolish for doing so over the gold, implying that he is an evil character. I much prefer the original version, as it makes his character much more complex, acting as a "tester" of values.

Definitely not Revolution, the idea was great but they killed it by messing up the levels and adding nonsense to it. I think I'll go for the PC version.

Rayman Revolution felt so... unfinished... it had nice ideas, but it was really glitchy, slow, did I mention glitchy?, just unfinished. The voice acting was rubbish too.

I played and beat Revolution for the first time last week, and I have to agree that it felt unfinished, or at the least, rushed. IMO, the true way to experience the game is on a Dreamcast, or at least the N64 version (or the PC version also, if it is indeed the same as the N64 one).
