As for your request for an explanation: the game can take place between the events of Rayman 2: The Great Escape and Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc. I don’t know how I can state it any more clearly than that. Can you find any flaws in this idea? The burden of proof is on you to prove that the game is non-canon. All official material can be considered canon unless it has some serious continuity errors which contradict the main games of the series.

Maybe they did those changes to give more flexibility on facial expressions? But why he had to act like a idiot on the series anyway? It's a huge contrast between the real Razorbeard from R2 and the Razorbeard from the Animated Series.
do we have any evidence that rayman2 was after rayman animated series? razorbeard might ave been like that before he became in charge of his army
The Razorbeard in Rayman 2 was a galactic plunerer who destroyed a hundred planets. The Razorbeard in The Animated Series was a servile robot who worked in a circus. Similar comparisons can be drawn between the Rayman of R2 and the Rayman of TAS.

The entire series is bullshit. Why would Rayman not recognize Razorbeard at the circus, and if it took place before R2, why would Razorbeard suddenly be in charge of everything? There are just way too many plotholes for this series to ever come close to being considered canon, unlike R3 GBA and Hoodlums' Revenge.

But he wasn't defeated; he escaped. Rayman probably would have kicked his ass rather than played pranks on him.
There's also the fact that Razorbeard is never referred to by name, making it unclear whether or not he's supposed to be the same Razorbeard from the main series or a completely different character using Razorbeard's design.
I think Razortache is just a shout-out to Rayman 2. He's not ACTUALLY Razorbeard, the Big Bad; why does he have a moustache (easier to animate ), a dumb voice, and kitchen utensils on his hat? This has been argued so many times, I think.
Well I think they intended to put the actual Razorbeard in the series but those responsible for this cinematographic infamy probably never played the games so there isn't much to argue about.

It happens way too often that people make movies and TV shows out of things they know nothing about. I wish people would respect the source material more often.
