Re: Rayman ROMs/ISOs?
I know where to get Gamecube, PS2, DC and all those rare iso's.
I could list them here, if they won't be deleted.

Re: Rayman ROMs/ISOs?
What standards would the ROMs/ISOs be held to? Would merely ‘working’ copies of the game suffice, or would truly accurate copies be required? I personally would like to verify that each ROM/ISO added to the Pirate-Community index is an exact 1:1 bit-fot-bit copy of the data on the game cartridge or disc, but I’m probably alone in that wish, as most people wouldn’t even notice the difference. I quite like the whole ‘software preservation’ potential of this idea.Hunchman801 wrote:Also, this topic reminds me of my idea of a Rayman ROM/ISO index (preferably with the emulators properly configured) for everyone to download them without having to browse hundreds of annoying emulation websites. Maybe we could start the list here, upload all we can to Megaupload or anything else and when we'd have enough of them I would create a dedicated section on the website

Please do so, I will download them onto my computer in case they are removed from file hosters.Rsandee wrote:I could list them here, if they won't be deleted.
Well, to answer your question, it would be absolutely great to reach a perfect level of preservation and it would be one of the long-term objectives of the index, but at first the goal would be to get as many images, roms and emulators as possible.spiraldoor wrote:What standards would the ROMs/ISOs be held to?
Also, a guide on how to use emulators and CD images would be more than practical.
Re: Rayman ROMs/ISOs?
For people who look for ROMS/ISOs of Rayman I would recommend to give a shot on SnesORama website, at least they have a bunch of roms.

DC/N64/SNES/NES/GBA games: Romulation.net or snesorama.us, Snesorama also has PC games, and Romulation also has GC iso's, but they're only NTSC.
Gamecube (High quality, all regions): Thepurplecube.org
PS2: Projectblacktower.org
NDS roms are easy to find with google.

Re: Rayman ROMs/ISOs?
Try to find ROMs with a ‘[!]’ in their filename if possible. It means that they have been verified as being perfect copies of the data on the cartridges. Finding perfect rips of cartridges is easy enough, but finding perfect rips of discs is more difficult.
There’s a site called redump.org that’s dedicated to gathering and preserving verified perfect copies of disc-based games. They’ve got a very strict guide for ripping discs and there are already quite a few Rayman games in their database already (twenty-nine at the time I made this post, including all the different regional and editional versions). I would advise everyone interested in being a part of the Pirate-Community index project to at least take a look.
Edit: Here is an archive containing verified ROMs of every Rayman game released for Game Boy Color. Took me quite a while to track them all down. There’s R1 GBC (Europe), R1 GBC (USA), R1 GBC (Japan), R2 GBC (Europe), R2 GBC (USA), and I threw in Tomic Trouble GBC (Europe) just for the hell of it. As far as I know, there are no other versions of editions of any Rayman game for the GBC. This is the full set.

Re: Rayman ROMs/ISOs?
By the way, does anyone have found yet the Saturn ROM (Or PSX if exists) of Japanese Rayman 1? How about the PS2 Japanese version of RR?
I made a curious finding about the PSX versions of R2. It seems that for Europe, two kinds of R2 for the PSX were released, not only one.
Just look:
The Languages included on the NTSC (USA) version of R2TGE for PSX: English, French, Spanish
The Languages included on the PAL (Europe) version (that I own) of R2TGE for PSX: English, Spanish, Italian
Now, I found this second PAL version on the internet:
The Languages included on the 2nd PAL (Europe) version of R2TGE for PSX: French and German
Since among my video projects of Rayman is also recording the voices from every language of R2TGE for PSX, I shall record the German version that I thought it didn't exist on this game version.

Re: Rayman ROMs/ISOs?
There were also two different versions of Rayman Junior released in Europe. They have different intro sequences.
Re: Rayman ROMs/ISOs?
I think I've heard about that.
