Re: Lore thread
So I assume we've come to the conclusion that the tv series are entirely non-canon.

Re: Lore thread
My own 2 cents, I'll try and not make spelling mistakes, but heed this, my keyboard skips, so it will happen.
Yellow/Gold Lums-1000 small orbs of light that make up the world's heart. They hold the knowledge and history of the world. They are the beginning of everything, if all 1000 of them focus their wills together they can make anything. Using this power they created a guardian of the world, Polokus.
Red Lums-Pure energy in physical form. The energy from these spheres can give power to whatever collects it. They are very influential to shifts in their own energy. Frightening one will cuase it to turn into a Black Lum.
Green Lums-They hold the memory of whoever touches them, and if the individual should expire, the Green Lum will respawn them in the state they were right before their death.
Blue Lums-These Lums are small spheres of oxygen, when a new creature is born a blue lum will be there and give first breath to the new-born. When they are collected, te Oxygen they hold is added to the lungs of the collector, and over time, the will reappear where they started, after they've gathered enough oxygen again.
Purple Lums-These Lums hold the fabric of the universe together, without them nothing would remain stable. They can be used as grappling hooks to swig from place to place. Using their powers, they can change their appearence.
Silver Lums-Created by faries by harnessing the Heart's abundant energy. These Lums unlock an individual's untapped potential, allowing them new abilites.
Black Lums-Created when a Red Lum is scared. They will spread like a virus, and will try to convert every other kind of Lum into a black lum. If you make one laugh it will revert to a Red Lum (this knowledge of their weakness is known by the ancient Leptys).
Super Yellow Lums-5 normal Lums that have clumped together.
Tiny Red Lum-Small Red spheres that give small amounts of energy, they are noticed by a single yellow point of energy surrounding them.
Small Red Lum-A more potent Tiny Red Lum, it gives double what a tiny will give, noticed by it's 2gold spheres around it.
The Heart of The World-This orb of power was originally held deep in the Dream Forest, where it provided harmony to the rest of the world, the inhabitants around it called it 'The Great Protoon' due to the electoons that lived near it. When the Heart was recovered after being taken by Mr. Dark, It was put back into the Dream Forest. When Razorbeard invaded, the heart had been destroyed by the Robo-Pirates, and exploded into the 1000 Yellow Lums that make it up. After the pirate threat was gone and the lums recovered the Heart was relocated to a far-back room of the Fairy Council in the King of the Teensie's throne room.
Electoons-These small fairys lived in the Dream Forest, and were responsble for spreading the energy of the Heart throughout the world, when the heart was destroyed, all the Electoons disapeared.
Tings-Thse tiny eves live in Spheres and provide small smounts of vitality, if 100 are gathered they can give a person a major boost in life-force, and a certain magician collects them for study. Other colored ones have powers over certain passageways, and can clear a path for you. The prime directive of Tings is to show the paths you can take.
Speed Up-This strange energy will quicken one's fighting power when absorbed.
Gold Pow-Like the Speed Up this improves fighting skill, only this increases the power of an attack.
White Lums-These rare Lums give extra Life Foce to the collector of them. They can take the form of a trophy stand that shows astatue of the collector.
Anti-toons-These demonic creatures form from the negative energy that forms when the heart is gone.

Re: Lore thread
The health from R1 being red lums does make sense. But if the GBA version of R1 is correct, Tings are fairies who are showing Rayman the way. So it's kind of weird that you give them to the Magician like that. Despite the fact that most of this lacks citation, it makes sense and isn't going too 'out there'.

Re: Lore thread
The only reason I call tings faries is due to the Rayman GBC intro, there the tings are small faries in spheres. iirc
Re: Lore thread
2/3 weeks ago, when I was playing RR I noticed this for the first time in the Bayou level:

My head is telling me this is a very probable R1 Sign cameo on RR. It even rises more the chances due to the fact of Bzzit being present on the same area.
I don't think this is just a danger sign randomly decorating the level fragment.

Re: Lore thread
I noticed that about two years ago. I think I worked it into one of the questions when I was in charge of the quiz.
Re: Lore thread
Well the last time I was playing RR it was the 4th time I was trying to finish Rayman Revolution 100% so I couldn't have looked to all the details of the game yet. Does the Sign page of RayWiki talks about this cameo?spiraldoor wrote:I noticed that about two years ago. I think I worked it into one of the questions when I was in charge of the quiz.

I thought I added the information to the article yesterday, but apparently I forgot to click the ‘save page’ button. So I had to re-type the entire thing. But it’s better now that it was when I tried to edit it yesterday, so never mind.spiraldoor wrote:It does now.

i know it its in the game Rayman revolution yeah its really awesome then i saw it in the game.
Re: Lore thread
I would honestly say that tings are currency... to me. I mean if they're fairies in small balls it wouldn't make sense to me, plus I consider RRR GBA, R3 GBA, Hoodlum's Revenge and R1 GBC all non-canon as R3 GBA had nothing to do with Rayman 3 and it was more of a rayman 2 sequel... well a DIRECT one, or perhaps filler. R1 for the GBC didn't have much to it and if Mr. Dark died then how did he come back in Rayman Junior/Brian Games? That makes zero sense and it's stated that he's gone and his whereabouts are unknown. Hoodlum's Revenge was more of a poor port of Rayman 3 and could be a direct sequel to R3 or pure filler, but it wasn't that good and didn't make much sense. RRR for the gba was... well I don't know, but it was just RRR taken and turned into a classic game (rayman 1 style of gameplay) with a bunch of twists.
All in all, I don't consider the hand held games canon for these reasons. I've played and beaten all of them EXCEPT for Hoodlum's Reveng ebut I watched a playthrough of it ages ago.
... that is all... I think too much and I do too much research... so expect long, ramble like posts.

If they were currency, why would they be lying around all over the place?

Re: Lore thread
Considering the fact it's a video game, does it matter? Think of Mario, just like how Paradox Juice showed us. Also, Rupees are currency in Zelda games, yet they just lay around everywhere in in the grass and such.

What makes you so sure Rayman Brian Games is canon that you disregard R1 GBC just because it appears to contradict it?NRJF wrote:R1 for the GBC didn't have much to it and if Mr. Dark died then how did he come back in Rayman Junior/Brian Games?
