Re: How did you become a Rayman fan?
It all started for me when my mum bought a wii, we wanted more games for it so we bought RRR it wasn't that bad even though I was the only one who played it. Then RRR2 came out so we bought that. Then I started watching rabbid videos on youtube and I noticed some of the R3 videos and started watching them. I got R3 for GBA even though I got no-where with it. Eventually I got the for the PS2 and I loved it. I started to hate the rabbid games and got the other games.
Re: How did you become a Rayman fan?
I think it started in 2003, so I haven't got an extra-ordinarily long Rayman past like some. But this was when I first bought R3 and I loved the game so much, both for its score system (this is strange because I wasn't bothered about scoring at the time, but I still respected the system) and amazing scenic value which I still appreciate. About a year later my interest widened when I bought R2 and RM which were admittedly very different but still great games in themselves. I guess the Rayman message boards have also helped me to become a fan.
I'll have to admit, I am a little embarassed at my insane interest with Rayman.

I hope I'm not bumping (it's been a few days)!
Well, when I was younger, my dad bought me ''Rayman 2''. And I played it, and I liked it, and that's how I became a Rayman fan!
I'm still wondering, why i was scared of Globox

i was 5! when i started to play rayman( the first one) with my sisters who were older, i didnt understand it but i still liked it. we used to get up at six before school and i would watch them play it. soon i started to have a go i just got past the first 3 levels and then they bought rayman gold. i slowly started to understand you have to get to the signs and kill the antitoons ( which i called blue balls of stuff). then in rayman gold everyone got stuck on this level and then i completed it and everyone realised i was the choosen one. not knowing why everyone was calling me rayman king i got rayman 2 and that was just like so good, completed that. then rayman forever, gold , colour, advance,2, m , arena, rush. then came rayman 3.

Re: How did you become a Rayman fan?
When I was five, I watched my brother's friend, David, play Rayman 1 and Rayman Designer (he was ten then). I thought it looked really cool, but I didn't have a chance to play it. Then the next year, my brother got Rayman 2 for PC for his ninth birthday, and the people around him were like "Oh I LOVE Rayman!" "It's a great game!" and such. So David and Connor (my brother) went downstairs and got all the way to the Sanctuary of Stone and Fire in about five hours. I joined in, and it was really fun. I loved it. Then when I was seven, for my birthday, I got Rayman Advance since people heard I liked the series so much. I was like ZOMG, this is the game I saw a few years ago! Then from there, I loved Rayman Advance and Rayman 2. Three years later, when Connor turned twelve, David got him a present. he said "Okay, It's NOT a Rayman game". It was Rayman 3. Then we played it on the computer, but it was laggy, so when we got a new computer, we played it a lot. Time passed, I loved my Rayman games, Connor became more of a console gamer then, with CoD and stuff. When I was nine in grade four, I started getting obsessed with it all. I kept trying to find gameplay of Rayman 1, music, and where to get the game. YouTube wasn't around in 2004, so that wasn't an option. Also, I wasn't very smart at finding things back then. Finally, when I was eleven and in grade six, in 2007, I found David again, who let me have his copies of Rayman 1 and Rayman Forever. You have no idea how much it felt like I was holding two golden challises in my hands.

Re: How did you become a Rayman fan?
I became a fan when my brothers bought Rayman 1, i was so little when they got it so i could hardly remember my frist time playing the game except the swamps of forgetfulness and how much those music notes with eyes scared me. Im the olny one who actually beat the game and never gave up on it
. They also had a few other Rayman games but god knows what happend to them. Im glad my bros introduced me to Rayman, its probably why im into retro gaming now.

Re: How did you become a Rayman fan?
i become a rayman fan when 1 day i see a cool game in a supermarket in a big city(its was origianal the game) with the name rayman m,when i get in the house,i played rayman m too much that i start to love the game and i liked the rayman 2 demo that i found on a cd of that game magazines, somedays later i found a ps1 version of rayman 2,i buyed and loved it,then at this start i found this game epic
Re: How did you become a Rayman fan?
I first played Rayman 2 as a part of some random game collection. At first, i couldn't get past the first level (T_T) and left it for a while. Eventually i reinstalled it, got stuck at the same point, and decided to give up.
Later on, like two years or so, i found out that one of my friends had played it too, and decided to find the CD and play it again. This time i was more experienced in gaming, and passed that annoying gap. Eventually i got to the last boss and gave up there, as it was too hard. Anyway, i really liked the game, so when i saw Rayman Gold at a shop for sale, i bought it immediatly :3
Then i played Rayman Gold a while, but mostly playing with the designer, as the levels were way too hard for me =(
A few months after, i saw that a[nother] friend of mine has Rayman M, and said "hey lol, let's play that". I liked the game and borrowed it from him :3 I finished it eventually(not the bonus levels tho).
Eventually, i got Rayman 3, and finished it, then reinstalled R2 and finished it too.
That's pretty much how i became a fan. Anyway,
Several years later, when i was at our local Game Shop for a random reason, i saw Rayman Raving Rabbids. It was different, but still kinda fun, and i finished it.
Then in 2009, i suddenly remembered about Rayman and checked if there were any sequels. Only some RRR's for consoles. Meh.
I decided to download and replay Rayman 2, and M. Eventually i downloaded R1 too, because i remembered that i didn't even played it. Later on, i got R3, and the RRR platformer for GBA, and finished them all.
Somewhere inbetween all this ^ i found about your site.
Meh.

Re: How did you become a Rayman fan?
Here's the story of my fandom:
My parents got all these old 64 games at a garage sale a few years ago, and I noticed one of them was green...
About a month or so later, I was trying to get past the Fairy Glade. I was never told where to look for the machine to free Ly, and I gave up.
...Eventually, I got back to playing it, and due to school/social crap/etc it took me a while, but I finally beat it. *cough* New Year's *cough*
At that moment I realized I was obsessed with the series, and it kinda took off from there XD
That's how I became a Rayman fan.

Re: How did you become a Rayman fan?
Are you fucking serious!? I already did this on the "introduce yourself here" oh well
I am the very model of a fan of the Rayman games and series, I actually dressed up as rayman for haloween too, it was my cousins mascot uniform that he made which looked an awful lot like Rayman. First game I ever got was Rayman 1 for pc, I was very nervous having to play my 1st videogame (I have no idea why) . And so I try it out, as soon as I started when the ubisoft logo came up I got annoyed and didn't wanna play (remember I was very nervous when it came to playing my very 1st videogame) And so I started playing a bit, beat the first level, then I quit (I was 3 years old) A day later I came back to it, still felt weird playing my first videogame, I got more into it and enjoyed the beautiful level design and the lovely music. I started to enjoy it a bit more at that point, a couple more days later, I totally lost control and could not stop playing it, even when my dad offered me to play new games. After beating the game (without all the cages) I decided to move onto something new and then I realized how much I love videgames . Rayman has changed my life from boredom to awesomeness! Me and my friends use to always party and play Rayman over and over, when Rayman 2 was released I was more hyped up! I enjoyed it so much! Then Rayman arena came out which me and my friends always liked to play multiplayer in! Then Rayman 3 got released I loved that so damn much as well and I was out of control at that point. I decided to take a break and not get too obsessed. So then another day my friend saw some video on raymanzone and showed it too me. It was a video of what rayman raving rabbids was gonna be where he was kicking those rabbids ass! I was so excited to see rayman kick a annoying little rabbids ass. Later I then see a bunch of.... party games? I was very outraged and very mad. "It's like taking sonic and making him do a bunch of minigames with pigs" my friend quoted. I was not happy. I then looked down at all my rayman games thinking "how could michael ancel do this?" So then I purchased Rayman Raving Rabbids, just giving it a shot, after almost dieying in a car crash that day (I'm serious btw.) The game seemed to come in a normal condition still. So I inserted the game in my wii (I own it for pc as well) and I enjoyed the dance levels a bit, but that was it. If the game had only rabbids in it, that would have been ok, but putting rayman in it.... No.... not cool. So from that point on after I beat the game, I decided I would never play rayman raving rabbids ever again (but you all know how much I can't resist) So being as much as an idiot I was I bought Rayman Raving Rabbids 2! I was glad to see Rayman was a playable character but the minigames were TWICE as worse than the first one, and Rayman has the voice of a fucking rabbid!? I missed those good ol days where me and my friends played rayman 1, 2,arena, and 3. However I enjoyed RRR on the gba at least in fact RRR on the gba was a GREAT rayman 4, and that's how great it was. Then RRR tv party cam out, which by the way I BOUGHT! Because I got hypnotized by that "The 1st game you can play with your butt" shit. And the final minigame was a huuuuuuuugggggggeeeeeee warioware ripoff. I decided to sell all my rabbid games on ebay (except for RRR 1 for pc and gba) I was glad I did that. I made so much more money. So then I decide to buy Rayman games I never got when I was little like, designer, and junior for pc. I enjoyed reliving rayman 1! Then rabbids go home came out which I did not buy, even though the game has "platforming" in it, I am not getting fooled by ubisoft, trick me twice, you will never earn my trust back. As I had so much hope for rayman---- RAYMAN ORIGINS! I was so excited I didn't care whether the graphics were bad or if it has any new characters in it. I WANTED IT. And I am so excited for it to get released.

I don't blame you. It's the whole story of how I became a rayman fan though.

I still play R2, and I have yet to find all 1000 Lums/that secret hole in TOTA. BUT I'LL KEEP LOOKING!
I wonder how long it took me to notice Rayman was limbless...?

Re: How did you become a Rayman fan?
I went into a games store around 1996/1997'ish and saw Rayman on a shelf. I liked the box art and the pictures on the back so my Dad brought it, he played it first and I helped him on certain parts. Ever since then I always return to Rayman 1. I of course bought some other Rayman games but Rayman 1 always sticks in my mind, especially as I used to run it on Windows 3.1.
