Fact: The DS version DOES suck.
Almost Fact: Maybe there will be a Rayman game on the 3DS, or a homebrew R2 port for it. :)

The DS version is a direct port from the N64 version. Now here are the biggest problems of this version:

- The graphics are more pixelized

- There are a lot of graphical glitches and other kind of glitches that in Nintendo 64 didn't exist

- When ported, programmers didn't fix the diagonal movements of Rayman, which means that your left thumb can hurt as hell after some time playing it (That's why I recommend to play it in a DS Lite to reduce the fatigue when using the D-Pad)

Ah...

I think I prefer using a normal console controller with these kinds of games if at all possible. I like using a control stick to move around. =P

but you use Ds, or DS lite?

in my opinion, I think the DS lite is the most easy to use

Oh my, the PS2 emulator can now play RR without Rayman falling in the right beggining...

:P I'm going to start to record the Rayman Revolution gameplay and see how it behaves.

Ooh... let's hope it works. XD

Me, I just went and got me a PS2... I like playing PS2 games, I have a lot of 'em. I have one or two reasons to get a PS3, but right now that's limited to some already-released games and Rayman Origins. Which I somehow doubt I'll be getting at launch... baww. I'll try and get it as soon as I can though...! D;

And as far as DS consoles go, I like the original fatty one the best. I just... like it. :D

Erm. Back on subject... kind of.

I wonder if/when we'll get another R2-esque game? It'd be fun to see Razorbeard make an appearance in the case that RO is a reboot to the series or an alternate continuity where he's still around. And if all games subsequent to RO are following the same continuity of RO...

Actually, I wonder when we'll be getting another 3D Rayman game at all. I wonder if they'll just be keeping it as a side-scroller series? I'd kind of miss the gameplay style of R2/R3... :oops2:

I quite miss the Rayman 2 art style, it was and it still is for me the best visual presentation from every Rayman game.

My brother downloaded a demo of rayman 2 on his ipod. He's gonna give me his ipod touch in 3 months so I can buy rayman 2 for only 5.00$!

I got my Dazzle video capture usb device today.
So now I can have my ps2 right next to my laptop and record it..
I don't wanna bother going through the trouble with emulators for gcn, ps2, and xbox because it's easier for me just to record the console.
I tried to set up dolphin and it was frusturating.
But congrats that you were able to set up the ps2 emulator :D

If Dazzle wasn't expensive I would adquire one. But for now I keep with the emulators+recording programs and my camera pointed to the screen.

I want a dazzle but 2 problems.

1. I don't have the money
2. I don't have a labtop so it'd be hard to connect from my pc to the living room, lol!

Exact, but in my case a laptop wouldn't be a problem.

You don't need to connect it to the tv. But since I have a laptop, that's actually a good idea, never thought of that XD
You just move your console to your desk where you have your pc/laptop, then plug the dazzle into the usb, then plug the composite (yellow red white) cables into the dazzle, plug the power supply in for your console and insert the install disk for pinnacle studio 12. Install that with the code thats on the cd sleeve for it, and when you install it it will install the dazzle drivers too. While using pinnacle studio, you will probably notice the preview window is WAY too small. Download VirtualDub and unzip it, run it, and then from the file dropdown menu, pick capture avi.
Now from the new dropdown device menu, pick your dazzle. On the audio dropdown, tick the enable audio capture and enable audio playback. Also tick your dazzle device on that menu. Now everything should be set up right, so turn on your console. when you want to capture hit the capture button on the capture dropdown menu. Once your done recording, open pinnacle studio and edit from there. Make sure to delete the old avis once your done editing in pinnacle and you compress it, because they take up alot of space.

my Grandad has a Dazzle, in fact I used it for when I used to rip my VHS recordings of Rayman Rush and Rayman Junior. The quality doesn't seem to come out very fantastic for me but then that could be because I was indeed ripping from VHS. I hear gamebridges are better but I dunno.

Being recorded digitally to a hard drive or a DVD-RW is surely better than in a VHS.

Agreed.
I'm kinda pissed right now, because when I use my ps2 slim with my tv, it doesn't crash.
But when I use it with my dazzle and my comp, it runs perfectly, and then it will just randomly crash.
I have my orginal ps2 but I don't feel like going into the mess of my basment and dig it out of all my dads old computer junk.

EDIT:
nevermind, I had hardware acceleration on in the settings for pinnacle studio which was making my ps2 overheat, and causing it to crash.
ack, now there's lag between the ps2 and dazzle.

EDIT 2:
restarted my computer and now the lags gone :D

I've played 46% of the Rayman Revolution game in the emulator in my computer and until now, despite of the random decrease of FPS (but after they return to the normal FPS ammount) I didn't detect any problems and the game is running perfectly. I have been uploading the videos in my Youtube. I'll give more news in case I finish it 100% in the emulator.
