A true statement. If you don't go for a high score, though, R3 offers little of a challenge, too little, I'd say.

To everybody:

Yes, I have an ugly big mouth and I'm such a bastard that I do not respect non-German/Austrian players, but oh my god. How can WE be so stupid and instigate a war for a fucking absurd prize?

We all should not forget that this is a game. And I'm just young, stupid and without experience who wants to provoke everybody.

And we all should remember this everytime we're playing a game, it may be Rayman, a RPG or Russian Roulette. No one wants something ill, because if somebody wants, he would not play Rayman but build atomic bombs.

And I do not want you to get angry about this. If you do so, say why. And I will try to change it, by changing my attitude.
And I just want to help, not to provoke. Believe it or not, it's not my athourization to force you.

Say your opinion about this post, I cannot do anymore than learning from it.

Really, I don't understand that post at all. Are you angry with the treatment you've received here? Are you apologising for your impetuous comments? As soon as I saw the "war instigating" and "atomic bomb creating" parts I instantly put my confusion down to a poor online translation.

If you still can't understand why I expressed those sentiments (which MandM probably shares) then I suggest you withdraw yourself from this (and any other) Rayman community, so as to avoid posting any further absurdities

Yeah, you can count me in. And I have absolutely no idea what this current rant is about. It seems Cut once again is airing some frustration here and in TSF as well. And once again the frustration is aimed at us, or at least me. I don't think he has any support anywhere though. I for one have only this to offer him:

Cut, if you read this, please stop bothering people here at RPC. And please stop writing about RPC players in TSF.

My guess is that he wants to make peace but I'm not sure if he wants to do anything for it. I can't comprehend why he's talking about "wars" and "atomic bombs", though, and I haven't got the slightest idea what "athourization" is supposed to mean. :?:

Other than that, I can only repeat what I already told you on TSF, Cut. If you really want to make peace, put some honest effort into it and people might just listen.

A genuine wish to make peace is a noble wish. I didn't interpret the above message from Cut nor his message at TSF that way, but if that is indeed his wish he will be most welcome to launch a peace offering here.

Cut pushed the boundaries of my patience when he first came here to speak about his experience with TBOM. After that he was apologetic and threatened to leave, and soon after made further uncalled judgements about the HOF rankings. And recently he's regurgitated such nonsense with harsh comments that concern me as well. Because of this never-ending cycle, I don't intend to repair any broken wings between him and myself.

When I addressed my message to Cut I wasn't hoping for an apology. I was simply demanding for him to stop with his obtuse HOF judgements.

The frustration is not aimed at you, it's aimed to me. Finally it's me who did crap, and it's my guilt that your opinion about me is how it is. I didn't like your way, you responded (don't know whether this verb is irregular) to my opinion, so I wrote "we", but in the end it's ok.

@sfn: I want to do something for peace, but I don't know what. To find this out, I have to be able to speak to the rayman community again. And that means that nobody but me has to change something.

Well, for starters I suggest you enter your score of 835.503 points into HoF. Everyone else has done that. Or you can post a screenshot of your score.

I don't have got my rayman 3 anymore, but my savegame is still on my pc, but I think it will take a week or two, until I can post my score. I hope this is ok.

As long as we'll see the screenshot at one point, it's okay, but why will it take so long? Re-installing the game, putting the savegame in the right folder and making a screenshot of it should take 30 minutes at most.

Okay Cut, glad we have an understanding. I'm looking forward to seeing this evidence too.

Cut puts his score into the Hall of Fame/posts a screenshot in two weeks or so ... and then what? I believe I once said (years ago) the HoF is worth an empty piece of paper. Character/behavior is much more important than just a score and Cut has shown deficiencies in the former. So I don't understand how Cut entering his score is supposed to change anything.

One of the things that struck me back in Cut's heyday was that he listed some amazing scores and talked as if reaching other great scores would be a piece of cake. I never saw any evidence of the scores he reached. Now he boasts a total score of 835.503 points and it goes to the very heart of the matter whether he can be trusted or not.

For me this is a first step and the one which most readily can be checked. After the screenshot/HoF we can move on to the next item on the long list... :proud:

To be honest, no matter how hard Cut tries to repent he won't be getting my blessing. As I mentioned earlier, I wasn't seeking an apology but an understanding. Now that I have that, I don't need to pursue his messages any further.

However, if he provided evidence of 835k then at least all the speculation of him being a cheater and such would be cleared. He could then be taken seriously when discussing how 'easy' some levels are. Everyone's a winner :)

Does a HoF-score prove that one is not a cheater? Remember Nikra, Epona, stefan.lbd or whatever these guys were called? They also had a HoF-score but that didn't make them legit players. I don't want to imply that Cut is a cheater because I have no evidence for it, on the other hand I have enough reasons to doubt his achievements and a HoF-entry couldn't change that.

Honestly, Cut has done nothing in the recent or intermediate past that justifies taking him seriously and a boost in score doesn't sanctify his snide comments and overall lack of respect for other people, but also for the game of Rayman 3 itself.

As far as I'm aware, there are three ways to cheat the HOF: entering random codes, hacking the online HOF database, and manipulating the points system by hacking the game itself. I could be wrong but I don't think Cut is capable of the latter two methods. And he couldn't enter random codes because he's already claimed to have specific scores.

I absolutely agree with this statement, but aren't you interested in finding out whether his farfetched tales are genuine?

I would be very interested to find out, if Cut is a legit player. A simple HoF-entry wouldn't answer this question, though.

Cut has always denied to provide any evidence of his scores. A screenshot or a score in HoF would thus change the situation a bit. By doing one or the other he would have laid his cards on the table and we would have something tangible to dig into.

Several times you have said that a screenshot or a score in HoF doesn't prove a thing. Well, what do you suggest we do then? Try to establish a character reference for Cut? And then what, ban him from the forum?

I personally think it is easier to deal with the score issue. And if we can establish he is a cheater, well, end of story. :)

It takes so long, because I have to download R3, and the only torrent I found has a velocity of 36kB/s, so I'm sorry. And no, I don't think that this fact is an improvement in my plausibility :x
