You must be crazy. If it is a history that explains how Rayman and Globox become heroes and got the personality that we always knew in the other games, then it is all happening before Rayman 1. Resuming and concluding: you are wrong.thebrazilianskaarj wrote:hey i think that the episodes things will be like=episode 1 and 2=before rayman 1-episode 3 and 4=before rayman 2 -episode 5=after rayman 2

Re: Rayman Origins
Rayman Origins is so low-budget I don’t think they’d even go to the trouble of cancelling it.
Re: Rayman Origins
You should check the blog. It says 'This website is currently undergoing maintenance.Services will be restored at approximately 3pm GMT/10am EST '
Are they updating the site? What do you guys think.

Re: Rayman Origins
Nope, nothing new after 3PM, it's probably just a general thing.
Re: Rayman Origins
The website remains unchangable... sadly.
I do start to believe that Rayman Origins will get delayed to Spring 2011.

Re: Rayman Origins
I don't think the lack of updates means anything; some developers just prefer to get on with making the game rather than incessantly plugging it like so many devs do these days. Assuming the game is on target for a Christmas launch, that's still almost two months away... plenty of time for publicity yet.Haruka wrote:The website remains unchangable... sadly.

I don't mind them not overclogging their site with updates. I think they're pretty sure the Rayman franchise isn't exactly the kind of game every single being in the universe would play. Also, I'm pretty sure Ubisoft handles it like some weird bastard child anyway, just look at the update rate of Beyond Good & Evil 2.
Re: Rayman Origins
I'm not concerned with the lack of updates but if the delaying happens at least I'll have more time to save my money.

An update every month or two would hardly be ‘incessant plugging’ or ‘overclogging their site with updates’. If they were posting crap every eight hours, then their site would be ‘overclogged’ with ‘incessant’ updates. But to say that four months leading up do the game’s release without a word – literally not a single word – is acceptable is just silly. They are not updating their site anywhere near often enough. Many of us have been patiently checking for updates daily and have grown increasingly tired of this waiting. Interest in the game is waning with nothing to maintain it. I even started a miniature comment campaign for another update on their YouTube video, which has gotten many thumbs up but still does not seem to be working. We simply need more updates.Zay-el wrote:I don't mind them not overclogging their site with updates. Re: Rayman Origins
Like I said, I'm pretty sure Ubi's to blame there. Sometimes I think they just don't want their own games to come out. Other thing I can imagine is that there's drama behind the scenes, or they just don't yet want to reveal anything.
Also, take a good look at BG&E2 again. It's been announced well over a year ago, yet there'd only been 2 trailers so far, even though BG&E HD is just around the corner as well. Maybe I'm the pessimistic here, but I'm detecting a pattern...

Re: Rayman Origins
Let's be honest here; we really don't need updates. Work is underway and the game will be out when it's out. Of course we'd all love to see more, but if Ubi aren't interested in sharing then we'll just have to sit it out. If they miss the scheduled release date we'll certainly hear something.spiraldoor wrote:An update every month or two would hardly be ‘incessant plugging’ or ‘overclogging their site with updates’. When you see how companies like Valve look after their fans it's easy to forget that in 95% of cases developers don't owe their fans anything. Developer updates are publicity and a bonus, not a mandatory part of releasing a game

Re: Rayman Origins
Yes we do. Most of us are interested in knowing if the project is moving forward at all, and how are we supposed to find out if Ubisoft refuses to even talk about it?AJack wrote:Let's be honest here; we really don't need updates.

How are you so sure of all this? I think it is quite possible that the game will not be released. If they miss Christmas they may not even acknowledge it.AJack wrote:Let's be honest here; we really don't need updates. Work is underway and the game will be out when it's out. If they don’t plan on making an update more than once every four months or so, perhaps they shouldn’t have set up that blog and got our expactations up.AJack wrote:When you see how companies like Valve look after their fans it's easy to forget that in 95% of cases developers don't owe their fans anything. Re: Rayman Origins
I'm not sure, but neither have I seen anything to make me worry the game will be cancelled. I get that the Rayman community has been burned before, but there's no sense in being paranoid about this.spiraldoor wrote:How are you so sure of all this? If it's any consolation, Origins strikes me as a game far less likely to be cancelled than many others. It's episodic, so the workload comes in small chunks rather than a single long haul, it's based on simple, inexpensive tech and it's downloadable, so the cost of releasing it will be minimal.
Once again, this is a prime example of us reading between the lines. Setting up a blog does amount to Ubi agreeing to post updates. It means 'If we DO have something to say, this is where it will be.'If they don’t plan on making an update more than once every four months or so, perhaps they shouldn’t have set up that blog and got our expactations up.

When I was surfing on the internet I found this:

The biographie of Michel Ancel. On this site http://www.editionspixnlove.fr/collecti ... .php?ID=67, you find a chapter about Rayman Origins. I'm not so good at French, so can anybody translate it?
