< is sure there was some protesting somewhere in Scotland today, too... could be the universities though. Marches are fun as long as there aren't 45-year-old anarchists joining ya.
(< is actually hoping to organise one. Today showed how authoritarian the government can be... what needs to happen is a protest which they AREN'T expecting. < is already inquiring with the channels which have influence! :fou: )

Arr-sandy, you most certainly have.

Well, sometimes people strongly feel that a certain policy or a new law goes against what is 'morally right', or at least what the country knows of morality. They will write letters and sign petitions, and if these things don't work, they'll take to the streets. That tends to be the reason - attention.
< wonders if there's anything Spiral would ever protest about.

The point of protest is, as < said, attention. Protests certainly get attention, so they fulfil their purpose.
What, so if Ireland was suddenly transformed into a police state, you'd be happy to sit on your arse and watch it happen?
Even worse for you, if Ireland was transformed into a hippy commune, you'd be happy to sit on your arse and watch it happen?
