Maybe it’s a multiplatform stereoscopic-3D version of Rayman 2 or Rayman 3? Come to think of it, either of those would be amazing.

Man, we've got so much stuff down the pipeline these days. Rayman Origins, Rayman Trilogy, and now Rayman 3D? Things are just so great for Rayman fans now; makes that Academy of Champions cameo seem miniscule. :)

I bet it's a 3DS port of Rayman 2 or 3. I'd almost put money on it, considering how as soon as Nintendo releases a new handheld, Ubi rubs its hands together and proclaims, "We shall re-release an old [Rayman] game onto it!"

I'm hoping for an upgraded and stereoscopic port of Rayman 3 at the moment. If it is a port of Rayman 2, it BETTER be the best version yet. :P I want much better graphics!

I have a hunch:
Ubi re-relased rayman 1 for the gba....
Ubi re-relased rayman 2 for the ds......
Ubi re-releases rayman 3 for the 3ds?

Attempts to find ‘patterns’ in the behaviour of publishers rarely work. Look at the way Nintendo released the latest Pokémon games; they subverted everyone’s expectations. Just because Ubisoft made Rayman Advance and a DS version of Rayman 2 doesn’t mean that they’ll continue this pattern to completion.

And they also released rayman 1 on dsiware. It's better than the gameboy advance version, but not by much.
rayman 2 was released on Iphone. I dont know if that was any good I haven't played the iphone version.

although if the rumour's are true I think it will be rayman 3 they will release though. As the memory on a 3DS cart is slightly larger than the memory of a gamecube disc.

I have the iPhone version, it's the Dreamcast version. It's really good, much better than Rayman DS in every way: higher framerate and much better graphics.

But what about the controls? I hear they aren't so great. After all, it's a 3D platformer on a system with no buttons.

I got used to them. They're not that good, but I got used to them.

You heard right. The controls are poor but the game’s still playable.

I don't know. When I went back to playing a handful of N64 games, I learned that "getting used" to bad controls can be a terrible thing. It's like playing a crappy game for hours on end: eventually the shittiness wears off on you to the point of where nothing phases you anymore.

It must feel disturbing playing with no buttons.

At least now we know that "Rayman Trilogy" and "Rayman 3D" are two different things.

I'm reckoning a port of Rayman 3, as the GBA had Rayman 1 and the DS had Rayman 2. I wish it was Rayman 1 though, as the Playstation/Saturn version's paralax scrolling would look so cool in 3D. It may even be Origins, but then they would have actaully called it Rayman Origins rather then Rayman 3d.....

Intrestingly enough, the Official Nintendo Magazine website has a news article speculating what it could be? Clue: they are as clueless as we are, and the article gives no future information, also being confused of it's existance.

It can be viewed here: http://www.officialnintendomagazine.co. ... p?id=22351

EDIT: What? My avatar's randomly changed itself to a Globox baby, and it's not letting me change it .

When you gain a amount of posts (or tings, I'm unsure), your ranking chances, and your picture changes.
Also, this has to be rayman 3 because ubi wouldn't see the need to re-release a port of game that's already playable on the 3ds via a ds cartridge (rayman DS), plus it would be a waste of time and money, and rayman 1 is on the dsi store, which is also going to be accessable by the 3ds. Plus this would be the perfect chance to take advantage of the 3ds's gamecube like graphics, which was one of the original platforms (gamecube) rayman 3 was released on.
