Re: Rayman 3 Scores
We are trying to write a comprehensive article about scoring in R3. Here is a part of it concerning the combo system.
The combo system is structured in the following way. The objects in a combo are gathered in groups of five and will be assigned combo points as follows:
Objects 1 – 5: Objects 2 – 5 will have their points added to the combo counter.
Objects 6 – 10: These objects will have their points doubled and added to the combo counter.
Objects 11 – 15: These objects will have their points tripled and added to the combo counter.
Objects 16 – 20: These objects will have their points quadrupled and added to the combo counter.
Objects: 21 – : These objects will have their points quintupled and added to the combo counter.
In order to maximize the score under these rules it is a good strategy to save objects with high points as late in the combo as possible and start the combo with low points objects like yellow gems for example.

Re: Rayman 3 Scores
((((-((((2^(2^2))^(1 / 2)) * (((2^2)^1) / 2))^(1 / (((2^(2 + 1)) + 1) / (2 + 1)))))^(1 / 2)) / ((-2)^(1 / 2))) * (-1))^(1 / 2) = square root of -1

Very true, I'm in favour of seeing Des promoted to admin!DesLife wrote:Fuck off you idiot, plus what you wrote makes no sense so stop trolling and get lost already.
Wait...
I guess Cut's not too far away from the toilet now
Aren't you noticing how much you are making a fool of yourself?
You had enough chances to sort everything out, but you decide to create just more and more trouble
The youth of today doesn't have any respect anymore

This opinion seems to be shared by more and more people. I shall take Xenon's place soon.mostwanted82 wrote:Very true, I'm in favour of seeing Des promoted to admin!DesLife wrote:Fuck off you idiot, plus what you wrote makes no sense so stop trolling and get lost already.
Re: Rayman 3 Scores
Mostwanted, I know I'm annoying.
And I know that you are a cool person, that did not change.
I just wanted to proof some thoughts I had a few weeks ago...
Because the only things a Rayman 3 player is attention and success. But the attention is dominating.
But you all worked the hell on Rayman 3 to get this attention and I just have to tell you some scores I never achieved (but all scores I showed in screenshots have been done honestly. You have to decide if you believe or not.), or have to annoy you with crappy posts and get more attention than all of you. And I just had to invent Nekrophil for that.
I don't want to destroy your community of players. I just wanted to show you this fact. And honestly: it was funny to play those games with you!
Honestly, I don't know whether I am sorry for that...
I think this will depend on your reaction.

You mean trolling.Cut wrote:annoy you with crappy posts and get more attention than all of you.
This is getting ridiculous. I hope someone will prescribe you at least a temporary ban soon.
Re: Rayman 3 Scores
We don't care about your babbling. Fuck off or stop posting crap. If you keep on bitching for "attention" then you'll just get banned eventually. But if you want to "have fun playing those games with us", then change your behaviour and you'll be welcome here. However, I doubt you're gonna do that.

How many more infamous appearances is this guy going to make? Enough is enough, I've issued him with a two week ban.

Ok, your reaction shows me that I have to be sorry for that.

Wow, I hadn't seen that facepalm bear before. It ranks right up there with the cat and the Star Trek guy as the best facepalms.
BTW, can somebody delete the Necromancer-account, since it's just a second account with 2 posts?

Re: Rayman 3 Scores
I tried using the directions in the beginning of the thread, but quickly noticed I need a lot of training first
Now I'm just running through the game, trying out all possible and moderate combos I can come up with.

Re: Rayman 3 Scores
You must expect to repeat (almost endlessly) a lot of level parts if you want to reach a good score.

Re: Rayman 3 Scores
Yeah, I noticed that. It's so frustrating when Combo mode stops right before you manage to get some points.
Re: Rayman 3 Scores
It is frustrating indeed when the combo mode stops in the middle of a combo. But the more you play, the longer combos you will be able to make. Patience, practise and inventiveness will get you far in this game.
Re: Rayman 3 Scores
Trying to follow each step of the solutions is a daunting task for any beginner. I would first advise playing through the game normally but with scoring in mind - you could try developing basic combo sequences or taking all the gems with a power suit activated, for example. It's a stepping stone process and you should never expect to be able to handle each and every challenge the solutions demand to start off with.
In fact, I wouldn't even read the solutions until your score exceeds 500,000.

Re: Rayman 3 Scores
Well, I've played this game a lot, but I never cared about the score in the beginning. The directions taught me some tricks, though, so I'm getting better for each world I play. I think my high-score is around 350.000 or something...

Re: Rayman 3 Scores
Another technique I'd like to recommend is that, if you encounter a green gem, don't grab it yet. Grab other gems in the area and get into combo mode. And while you're at it, grab the green gem, to get +1000 in combo.
Re: Rayman 3 Scores
You can get up to +9000 for a green gem in combo, I believe.
