Yeah, because it is a punch. I seriously have no idea why some people complain that Rayman "slaps" his enemies in this game, when he never does anything in the trailer that even remotely resembles a slap. Maybe everyone was paying attention to Globox?spiraldoor wrote:Rayman’s slap ability is very similar to his punch

Re: Rayman 1.5: Revenge of the Dark
I have some presentable work on a new area I've been working on... the menu area! This is basically the area the main menu screen will be flying around in. A very dark, magical place. Imagine it as sort of a cross between the Rayman 3 intro and the Shrek's Swamp at night time when all the people come to visit him. Here's how the progression goes from starting up the game: When the main logos come up, you start to hear the intro/menu music (don't reference to my "Menu" track on my Soundtrack part 8, it doesn't really work with this, I'll rename it to something else). Here are some screenshots of the area in the order of which they appear:

I have been working on the area in order, so the last picture isn't very detailed. On the right side of the stream will be lit houses, a well, and all the characters that appear in the game doing different things as the camera flies around. Also I noticed it's a little hard to tell depth with these screenshots, so watch the video:
Also try to ignore the crappy image effects, I didn't have much time to make a video.
This is NOT custom music, this is the theme from Edward Scissorhands by Danny Elfman. I'll be making music for it a bit later, this is just perfect concept music.

Re: Rayman 1.5: Revenge of the Dark
Doh I posted the wrong video code. Fixed.
I have another idea that isn't in the video: the circle of the Ubisoft logo is the only part that spins. After it does a full 360 degree hypnotizing spin, it suddenly sprouts Lum wings and the Ubisoft word appears below it. Then it fades to the moon.

Re: Rayman 1.5: Revenge of the Dark
Very, very snazzy. The camera speed and the title are quite reminiscent of R2, not to mention the Hall-of-Doors-esque placeholder music... you've got 'Rayman' down to a T. Gorgeous stuff.
As for the logo, it's better if the 'Ubisoft' doesn't spin, I reckon. Lum wings could be overdoing it, though the jury's out.

Thanks all!
@le Jew:
Awesome, if I've got the Rayman stuff down, then that means... awesome!
The spreading lum wings will be sort of a "dark" effect. But I'll need to figure out how to animate them realistically for it to work properly.

Nice
By the way, what's up with the Rayman head in the bottom of the third pic? The actual player?

Oh sorry, I just had two models set up for show. Ignore that... other head in the background.Hedgehog673 wrote:By the way, what's up with the Rayman head in the bottom of the third pic? The actual player?
I'll probably ending up putting the Rayman 2 style hair on the Rayman Arena body. Does anyone have any Rayman Revolution hair? I won't go with anything lower quality, and the standard Rayman 2 hair is too low quality.bunnieblaster wrote:Great! Only thing I don't like is the hair... its so... round.

I just joined this site and I am already amazed at the amazing talent of Rayfan. Good job! Keep up the good work!
EDIT:I read somewhere that you cannot convert Cryengine 2 levels to Cryengine 3. Is that true?

It was somewhere on the Crymod forums, I think.
