Re: Rayman 3D
It bothers me that they took away Axel’s and Foutch’s auras, just like in the iOS version. Why do they keep doing that? What is the bloody point?
What happens when you pause the game? Does the cloudy vortex on the bottom screen start spinning like it should?

Re: Rayman 3D
Isle of Doors? Well at least there's that. Maybe the Globox Village is in the game, but somewhere else. I don't know, I've never played the Dreamcast version.
Re: Rayman 3D
But in the Dreamcast version you can spot the Purple Lum in the end of the Woods Of Light, and acessing it after a revisit with the blue energy spheres.Sabertooth1000000000 wrote:Isle of Doors? If you look to the video page again, you can notice I've done the same question to the guys.spiraldoor wrote:It bothers me that they took away Axel’s and Foutch’s auras, just like in the iOS version. Why do they keep doing that? What is the bloody point?

Re: Rayman 3D
Globox village has definitely been cut because I saw no crystals or anything
I got past the cave of bad dreams, something I couldn't quite do in Rayman DS right now, and lol they still have that tiny little Jano far in the water albeit in tiny pixels. They also changed the lighting in much of the game so far.
I took photos of all the box and that as well as some camera video, I'll get that sorted maybe when I get home.

I believe the 3DS supports DLC? Perhaps there’s a real reason behind this arbitrary removal of content.
Re: Rayman 3D
And then Ubisoft gets surprised for being harassed the entire time by the Rayman community, because of their pointless decisions.StaceyW wrote:Globox village has definitely been cut because I saw no crystals or anything![]()
At this rythm, the Dreamcast version is getting a even greater relic as time passes!

Re: Rayman 3D
Ahhh, just got it today. How disappointing - no Globox Village?
Still, the 3D is surprisingly ok, and it plays well.

I'll be looking forward for it.StaceyW wrote: I took photos of all the box and that as well as some camera video, I'll get that sorted maybe when I get home.

Re: Rayman 3D
I saw the Rayman 3D review on ONM. You can find it here:
http://www.officialnintendomagazine.co. ... 3d-review/
As you can most probably see, they gave it a 60% score- pretty mediocre.

Re: Rayman 3D
I'll wait for IGN's, Gamespot's and MaxiConsolas' reviews to see also what they say.
Re: Rayman 3D
Ok, I finally got the console and the game with it. I have played it for almost 5 hours (the first con: and almost completed the whole game), but I’m still not sure am I liking it or not.
I’m going to be talking about the 3D effect the most of this impression, because it was the most interesting addition to the game.
The 3D effect is totally new to me. I do have watched one 3D movie, but that was long time ago. The problem is, it’s really hard for me to see the 3D effect. When I first turn up the 3D, my eyes start to really hurt, and I see one picture and two faded pictures on the left and the right. And on the very first time, I even felt like I was gonna puke. Then, when I turn it down a little bit, to the point it matches with my eye sight, for the first few seconds it looks amazing, but soon I forget the 3D is on, because the effect is so low and it starts to feel like I’m just playing the same old R2 again. I turn the 3D up again and I get a headache…
Yes, there were moments, where the 3D felt just amazing, expecially on the Whales Bay level and places, which had huge backgrounds and just a few things floating beside Rayman.
There were added some stuff for the 3D effect, like bats flying towards you, but for me those additions didn’t work, because the only moments I couldn’t see the 3D at all was exactly when something was close to the screen.
But it might be just me. My eye sight isn’t bad, but maybe the 3D just isn’t for me. So if the 3D would work in all parts of the game, I’d say this game is perfect for the 3DS. Like on all versions, theres always something coming right at you, or you are just moving forward fast in a tunnel while avoiding aproaching objects and THAT is where the 3D really should look great.
Oh, and I read in the 3DS’s instructions, that your eyes just needs to get used to the 3D effect. I have only played for 5h, so my eyes maybe have not gotten used to it yet. And I forgot, that before turning the 3D on, you should make sure you aren’t feeling weak anyway, like tired, or even hungry, because first time I played, I had arrived from a long trip and I hadn’t eaten for a long time so that’s maybe why I felt really sick when trying the 3D effect.
There isn’t really anything else to talk about it… there’s really nothing new. Only thing that was new for me was the ISLE of doors, because I have only played the PC and the DS versions.
The slidepad felt great, but the jump/shoot/dive/target lock-buttons were wierdly placed.
Oooh, and the music was just as awesome as always and not just some lame midi sounds like on DS version. Speakers sounded amazingly great, but they got a little ”distorted” if I had the volume level set all the way up. Some of the sound effects, like when Rayman screams while swinging on purple lum, were changed so that you hear them maybe a bit too much.
Framerate dropped sometimes (well, actually really rarely) so low, that it was a pain to play the game (expecially when 3D was on).
There weren’t a lot of glitches, except one major in the Tomb level (SPOILERS?) in the secret area where you could get the ”dead lum”: when I beat all the Henchmen, and when I tried to jump into one of the giant skull's eyes, the web trampoline didn’t do a thing. It was just a hard plaform. I couldn’ reach it, but then I found another way to get there: when you have all the platforms to get to the skull, kill your self, go near the reappearing henchmans, jump and let them shoot you when you’re in the air. This way you will be pushed just a little higher, so that you can get into the eye. But then I came across another glitch: after I got the lum, when I tried to jump down to go forward on the level, Rayman just froze there. All I could do is press start and restart the level. Luckyly I kept the lum I got from there. I guess the spider web was made solid on purpose… but I have no idea why…
Other glitch I remember, was the lavafalls going invisible for a second in the flying level.
I’m not sure about the mysterious hole in the Tomb level. The wall it used to be on was completely dark and you couldn’t set the brightness any higher..
Globox village might’ve been removed. I’m holding on a little hope that you can get there after beating the game.
Umm… maybe two more things comes into my mind:
I might repeat myself, but the areas have been made a little more alive by adding new stuff, like frogs and bats and using the old stuff more, like the flies from the beginning of the game and those yellow and blue butterflies (wait, were those in the original? or are they reference to the Rayman M?? O.O
)
Ooo, and also, Rayman does the tongue thing, like in R1 and 3, when you stand still for a while.
And finally one more con: The game is hella lot easyer than the other versions I’ve played. For each hit, you lose like half of the health you lost before. And…… if you die instantly, you regain your health back to full… o.O
Half of this post might’ve been pointless to the people, who have played the Dreamcast version, because the additions in this game might have been different just from the PC and DS versions, but not from the DC version… so sorry about that.
I guess thats it… my english kinda sucked on this one…

Re: Rayman 3D
I had a bad headache last night which could be linked to my 3DS, it was worse than my usual one sided ones but a bath, some sleep and two rubs of 4head did the trick. Better wear my glasses each time I play it from now on.
I've noticed a few graphical differences, like in the Echoing caves when you jump on those hexagonal platforms over that large chasm, the sky looks like a tiled wallpaper from Windows 98, kinda lame really. There were quite a lot of sound quirks as well like music going on after you beat a pirate and sound cutting off nearly straight away.
I'm not disappointed though, it's just that I'm blitzing it in short doses since the learning curve just made it a bit easier.
oh btw: http://www.metacritic.com/game/3ds/raym ... ic-reviews
keep checking.

Re: Rayman 3D
Yesterday I spotted Rayman 3D in Toys 'R' Us for 49,90€. How much it is costing in United Kingdom? It is also around the 43 pounds?

Re: Rayman 3D
About £40 at most in same stores though right now they're doing offers for when you buy a 3DS as well.
Re: Rayman 3D
I guess I have no choice in saving for it. I thought that 3DS games would cost as much as a DS game.

Re: Rayman 3D
I'm probably late for this due to not being at home at the time but here are a few pics

The inside of the game with holes in the plastic to save plastic and also an extendible stylus.

3DS boxes will be thinner too, about as thin as American DS boxes were unlike our chunky European counterparts

The manual, being in black and white and only in English, as expected.
I also added a couple videos on my youtube.

Thanks Stace, I'm going to watch them.
Re: Rayman 3D
*Sorry for double posting*
It smells like lazyness from Ubisoft.
That's not a reason for excluding the Globox Village. If Nintendo 3DS is able to go to the eShop to buy games, see videos and other contents, why not including the extra 3 mini-games?spiraldoor wrote:I believe the 3DS supports DLC? The eshop isn't even available yet, it keeps saying that there'll be an update that'll enable it.
